They shouldn't, and if we were playing them on the back of a couple of solid results I'd say they wouldn't, but 90% of the game is now psychological and I'm not sure the team is mentally tough enough to claim the three points with minimum fuss.

Pellet choice is based on fur and feathers, I know that much. Flathead pellets for fur and rounded for birds. Forget pointed pellets, unless you're aiming at paper targets, they'll go straight through most small animals if you're using a decent weapon.

I've had loads - back to a ZX80 and ZX81 (with 16k RAM pack) but I never understand the nostalgia thing. I can't think of one console where the old version is better than the latest version (I exclude the PS2/PS3 argument as both games are still current). Things like the Master System were great in the early 90s but I'd rather be playing Far Cry 3 on the Xbox than Alex Kidd 2 any day.
