Saints to give £250,000 to Gift to Richard Scudamore
aintforever replied to Hatch's topic in The Saints
How exactly? -
It’s a force for good, I fully support it. No surprise at the usual nob heads on here disagreeing though. We should all do more to limit our effect on the environment but real change can only be made when governments do something significant. They all will eventually but hopefully protests like these catch on and help speed things along a bit.

Agree, it is a vile use of language. He sums up all that is wrong with the whole Brexit debate.
-
I guess one option if May’s deal doesn’t get through would be to amend the deal and go back to Europe with a second draft saying it’s this or we leave with no deal. Not sure there is anything that the EU would agree with that would come close to getting through parliament though.

£5mill to give a bit of advice - **** me, these ****s really are on a different planet. Considering there is a fair chance we will go down this year you would think SFC would be a bit more careful with their money. We should make this a sticky for when they start handing out redundancies and asking us to throw money in a bucket. -
I wouldn’t be surprised. They can moan all they like but when it comes down to the vote it looks like a straight choice between this deal and no deal or a second referendum. Neither of the later two seem particularly popular. May’s deal is a fudge but it kicks the can down the road a bit longer and may be the least painful way to vote.

I thought it worked OK at the World Cup, no doubt they will make a mess of it here though.

Just when you thought you couldn’t hate modern football any more. It’s ****ing disgusting, handing a £5mill gift to that **** when there are way more important causes in the community that could be helped. The thing is if Saints go down and go bust again they will soon have the begging bowls out, ****ing tossers. -
Getting bullied back into a second vote by the EU could be just as bad though. The issues that were there before would still be there - plus a lot more bad feeling towards Europe. It's a ****ing mess all round.
-
When was the last time two major developed countries went to war anywhere in the World?
-
I noticed May opened the door for a second referendum with her "This deal, no deal or no Brexit" comment. None of those are ideal but it is obvious that the EU are going make sure we don't get a good deal so it's one of the three.
-
Isn't that more to do with NATO or the UN?
-
I was thinking about replacing Adkins, to be honest I can't remember what happen with Pardew but I think it's fair to say you have a bit more wriggle room when bankrolled by a billionaire in League 1.
-
Decisive action is unheard of at our joke of a club, I just don't get why we wouldn't have someone lined up to replace Reed before firing him. I hate to mention the "C" word but Cortese would have sacked Reed and Hughes and put the new people in place the following morning.
-
To be fair he's not threatening him he's just stating a fact - the bloke is a socially inept ****tard. A caricature of what is most wrong with Internet forums.
-
They’re just not very good at football.
-
So it looks like either a **** deal, no deal or a people’s vote to try and reverse the whole thing. What a mess.

Just symptomatic of the world we live in, pure greed. Problem is the people at the top who approve these pay-offs do so because they will be next in line. Looking forward to the day it all comes crashing down. -
That **** is going to eat some testicles.
-
Sure, if you are good enough you take luck out of the equation but it’s nonsense to suggest there is not an element of luck in football. My point was that we put in half decent performances and came close to getting better results despite the team’s confidence being shot through thanks to Pellegrino. Hughes was fire-fighting from day one last year, however **** we are this season it’s complete rubbish to say he didn’t do a good job last year.
-
I agree he should go but think you’re being harsh over last season. We were a mess and faced a nightmare run in, Hughes effectively kept us up with a game to spare. We were desperately unlucky not to get a win away to Everton, seconds away from a point against City and unlucky not to hold on against Chelsea. Flogging our best player in the Summer has ****ed us, I’m not sure anyone could keep this lot up.
-
I’m sorry but as bad as we are this season he did well to keep us up last year. Apart from his first game at West Ham he didn’t have a bad result. Who exactly did you expect us to beat - Chelsea, Man City or Man City at home or Leicester, Arsenal or Everton away?
-
Oh no what a shame. If the useless ****s did their job and won the odd football game maybe he would still have a job.
-
Surely if we go down the DOF route then the logical thing is for him to pick the manager so that the playing style and philosophy match up?
-
Leicester’s owner was respected because he actually gave a **** about the club and the city, the complete opposite if Gao. Reed’s farcical descision to sack Puel and appoint The clown would have been one of the reasons for him getting sacked tho, as it was just one of his many mistakes.
