I think history shows that the threat is ever changing and these people are prepared to do anything for maximum impact. It would be naive in the extreme to think there is no risk outside the big cities. The Police have done an amazing job here, which is why it makes no sense to cut their numbers. They are all that stands between 6 dead or 60 dead.

They seem to target big cities that doesn't mean they won't attack elsewhere in the future though. Only a fool would assume otherwise. I would increase policing in the cities as a priority as well.

You genuinely don't think more police would help in this sort of situation? Wow, just wow. Those bobbies on the beat are the same people who have to put armour on and respond to these sort of things. Even if they are not armed they would be doing vital work in securitising areas, organising, giving first aid, getting witness statements, communicating the situation on the ground to HQ. Also community policing is important in the first place to try and forge good relationships with Muslim communities so that they are more likely to pass on information about potential extremists.

I expect there would be more if it wasn't for May's cuts. The Met is just London anyway so not really a relevant to most of the UK.

I agree that the problem is Islam but surely the more police the better? The Conservatives have cut the police by 20,000. I think an estimate 16,000 more will go if their cuts continue - all because they are scared to tax the rich a little bit more. My next door neighbour is in the police and he is jacking it in after 20 years. He reckons there will be more of these sort of things and according to him "Teresa May is going to be eating her ****ing words".

The Tories are obviously going to win but the way they are struggling up against a bunch of no hopers like Corbyn and Abbot is ****ing embarrassing. It's like watching Pompey get promoted from div 4. I actually hope they win just to see what a complete mess they make of Brexit.

I've read bits on all of those thanks. Sunspots and changes in the Earths orbit have an effect but I haven't seen any evidence of it being the driver of the recent, relatively rapid change. The other theories, as you say, are in their infancy so it would be foolish to ignore what we do know when the future of mankind is potentially at stake. We know the properties of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses, we know we are pumping billions of tons out every year, and we know the climate is changing relatively fast. At the moment you are like someone taking a **** in a bath and trying to think up a weird and wonderful theory of why the water is turning yellow.

The climate is always changing and always will - there is always something causing it to change, things we can observe and measure. Hurry up with your cosmic ray research because you are ignoring the screamingly obvious. Not great science.

Yeah, they would be caused by something, just like something is changing the climate now.

Caroline Lucas is the only one out of that lot I would trust to run the country - it's a shame our ridiculous electoral system means voting for Green is a wasted vote, unless you live in Brighton. It was obvious last night why the Tories will win with a landslide - Labour, Lib Dem, Green, SNP and the Welsh pretty much say the same thing - so it doesn't matter where you live, the vote will be split. Whilst on the other side the Tories only have Nut Job to compete with, and he is a complete joke. A sooner this election is over the better - let's just get on with watching May make a complete **** up of Tory Brexit.

It's a choice between a bunch of nasty c**ts and a bunch of idiots - I think much will depend on which voters can be arsed to walk down to the polling station.
