That was a ****ing heroic performance. Puel has ****ed all over Pochetino and Koeman.
-
****ing awesome. Our best achievement since 2003
-
It that team gets a result it will be ****ing heroic - would be our greatest achievement since 2003. COYR!!!
-
Doesn't make the decision to flog him without getting cover any less slapdash.
-
If VVD is injured we are ****ed and we all know it.
-
So the government do a deal with the EU and Parliament decide it's unacceptable there will be no deal and we will leave under WTO rules - the remainers worst case scenario. I just don't get what having a bunch of MPs openly debating what an acceptable deal would be ahead of negotiations is going to achieve, other than let the EU hardliners know exactly what they must say to ensure the UK gets no deal. From what I can see, these idiots who took this thing to court have just made hard Brexit a nailed on certainty.

If VVD is not playing it's going to be a long night. I would do whatever it takes to get him on the pitch.

Excellent performance, JWP was superb. More confident for Wednesday now - just hope Vergil is fit.

Just being honest. He was our captain, already probably a multi millionaire who never has to worry about money again for the rest of his life, was offered a pay rise. We are one draw away from our first major Wembley final in years and he ****s off to a ****e London club for a few extra quid. Excuse me for being cynical if I should think winning a trophy should actually mean something to our club captain.
-
Just another millionaire footballer chasing even more money. Hope he gets booed but he won't give a **** wether he is booed or clapped because he's ****ing loaded.

Club won't be replacing Fonte, gardos to get his chance

It would be bonkers not to replace Fonte, we could easily get sucked into a relegation scrap. I can't believe the club would make such a rediculous gamble given the possible consequences of going down. -
Tax increase to pay for Social Care...
aintforever replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Lounge
If it is run that bad there is going to be wastage no matter how much money is thrown at it - that is certainly not a reason to not fund it properly. The bad management needs to be sorted out AND there needs to be an increase in funding - paid by taxes of people who can afford it most. -
It was crying out for us to bring in a striker this/last week to give everyone a boost going into this crucial period.

Tax increase to pay for Social Care...
aintforever replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Lounge
There is plenty of money around to pay for decent care for the elderly. It's only a 'crisis' in the minds of today's greedy ****ers who are obsessed with buying pointless gadgets and the latest German car. Just increase the tax and give the elderly the care they need. The very people moaning will be the people expecting to get their asses wiped in a few years time when they are in need of care. -
Blimey, aspiring to actually win something makes me a glory supporter - wow! That just sums up the loser mentality of some Saints fans. The benefits of a good youth system are obvious but simply dumping 'x' amount of young players on the pitch should not be a target. Winning something by any means possible should be the target because our current record of one trophy in 130 odd years is just embarrassing.
-
Sounds like we bored them into submission
-
It's nice to see our youngsters do well but simply putting 'x' amount of graduates on the pitch shouldn't be a target, actually winning something should be the target. Wether that's with 11 graduates or 11 foreign mercenaries makes little difference to me.

Since when have we every brought strikers from the top draw you plumb? Austin and Jay Rod were brought from Championship sides and Long has never been top draw in his life. Considering we are an established club in the richest league in the World, and have recently flogged millions of pounds worth of talent, and have a billionaire owner - you have to be pretty thick to think there is not one suitable striker in the World we could get. Maybe we need to re-boot the famous black box.
-
I couldn't give a ****e if all or none of our players come from our academy.
-
Saying there are no strikers available is just retarded, anyone is available at a price, we would just have to pay a premium. We should have a decent amount in the bank considering the amount of players we've flogged over the past few years. The problem is our board seem obsessed with buying players that they can flog off for a profit in a couple of years. IMO sometimes in football you just have to bite the bullet and invest where needed, I can't remember the last time I saw a Saints side in such dire and obvious need of a goalscorer.

I think the whole referendum debate opened quite a few eyes to what was going on. Ignoring the whole £350mill figure argument I was surprised at how much we paid into the thing for the privilege of having no control of our borders. I was also gobsmacked to find out a Polish immigrant living here could claim child benefit for kids living in Poland. I assume that was the UK amount not the Polish amount as well. Completely bonkers.
-
To be fair, league position is a pretty good gauge.
-
Maybe one reason the per capita growth figures are so poor is because of mass uncontrolled immigration.
-
Do they put in enough to pay for the added infrastructure and services of a new City the size of Southampton every year?
-
Is there actually a logical or practical reason why an EU country can't have some control of its borders and have access to the single market? The only reason I see at the moment is that a few politicians in Brussels consider it "having a cake and eating it". I'm sure if the people of France and Germany were polled they would prefer to have some control.
