Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
aintforever replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Meanwhile, it turns out the latest Muslim mass murderer was under surveillance by the country that let someone with known links to extremists into "our" European Union. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-38399561 Yet at the same time, the EU are making it harder for our relatively successful security services, by taking away some of their powers: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38390150 At least soon we won't have to listen to the EU courts. -

What are dribbling on about Abraham Lincoln for? Even if your little make believe story is true it doesn't mean anything, the guy probably thought you were some sort of nonce and didn't want his other half sat next to someone so creepy looking. Anyway I don't see what the behaviour of ultra Orthodox Jews has got to do with anything, it doesn't make the intolerance of some muslim cultures any less wrong. Islam is not inherently violent but there is something about it which makes some people commit the mass slaughter of random innocent people. Religion has caused many many wars and much devision throughout history but in today's world Islam appears to be unique in that respect. -

I don't think anyone is suggesting banning Muslims, I just think the issues should be discussed openly and honestly without fear of political correctness. Saying **** like its nothing to do with Islam just fuels the far right as there is clearly a link. -

Oh come on, I'm losing count of the Muslim mass slaughtering of innocents. 9/11, 7/7, Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Nice, Paris again... The idea that any other religion is comparible is just ********. -
They didn't enjoy playing at both because they were **** but I expect they were more irritating than intimidating. Man Utd players face cup finals wherever they go, they are used to the most hostile atmospheres in Europe, I doubt they felt intimidated by a fat bloke with a bell and his gay drummer side-kick.
-
Happy/stupid - it's a fine line
-
The genuinely think the likes of Man Utd were intimidated by Fratton Park. Wow!
-
You are the one with the obvious issues, I don't have time for any religion.

**** me, a post where you don't mention Jews!

It takes the EU 10 years to agree on the colour of the sky, news like that just makes me more certain we are doing the right thing. Just go with hard Brexit ASAP, stop the EU direct debit and prepare for WTO rules because that's obviously what is going to happen.
-
Keep it tight and we might be able to scrape out a quality nil nil here. COYR.
-
If Brighton get promoted their fan base is going to get seriously squeezed. I already have Pompey supporting mates who have to go to St Mary's because it's what their kids want. Funny as ****.
-
Whatever system we use doesn't make the EU any more or less democratic. If both systems are **** then no wonder people feel so disenfranchised with politics today.

Same old Arsenal

Redmond, Long, Jay Rod. How many non scoring strikers can we afford to have on the books? -

I don't get why we were so negative against a team whos defence can't get tested much in their own league. Their late goal was so predictable. We need to spend big on at least one decent striker in January. Jay Rod, Redmond, Long - none of these are going to contribute enough goals, I would get shot of any of them. -

When you flog your two top scorers and replace them with Redmond this is what you get. -

But surely Mays plans are irrelivant anyway because until article 50 is actioned we will not be able to negotiate so will not know what sort of deal we will get. May can just submit "we want control of immigration and be part of the single market" it gets approved and two years down the line we are out the EU with some other sort of deal. As far as I know article 50 is irreversible. So am I correct in thinking the following will probably happen: Step 1: May releases details of her plan "We have our cake and eat it" Step 2: Parliament discusses the plan - article 50 approved because "We have our cake and eat it" sounds like a good plan. Step 3: March 2017 - We invoke article 50 - we have left the EU Step 4: Negotiations begin - Eu say we can't have our cake and eat it - they have been watching our Parliament discuss it and know exactly what sort of ****ty deal they can get away with. Step 5: March 2019 - We start life outside the EU with a deal that doesn't resemble having a cake and eating it (WTO rules) meaning Step 1 and 2 is pointless and counter-productive.
