What rumour is the true one then?
-
Official club photographers are allowed in, they just can't sell to press.
-
I would go for Tony Mowbray, good track record and managed at a higher level. Eddie Howe would be my choice if we had a long term plan and a chairman with patience. I would fear for Howe under Cortese's "instant success or bullet" pressure. If not Mowbray I think either a big name like Shearer or Zola, or someone who's had the pressure before like Brown or Dowie could get us promoted.
-
I just find it worrying that we have the worst manager in Charlton's history advising our chairman on football.
-
To be fair you made similar lengthy rambling justifying our lunatic chairman appointing a rugby coach, and then again when with the total football with kids approach. You were completely wrong on both occasions.
-
Does anyone know how much the club get every time they are shown live on Sky? I know when we were in the Prem it used to be between £200k & £300K per game - would have to sell a hell of alot of pics to make that sort of cash.
-
Yeah, **** of the same people who own Sky TV - genius. How much does(did) the club get every time they are(were) shown live on Sky?
-
You are right in that they are giving SFC more column inches than they previously would have had but I think by highlighting Cortese's dopey decision they make it easier for all the other media to give us the cold shoulder. For example if we actually do anything newsworthy (unlikely) like win 9-0 with a Lambert triple hat-trick, some newspapers might have thought it would warrant putting a pic in. If all their readers are aware of the Cortese situation, and the paper knows it's competitors wont use a pic there is no need to bother buying one off SFC.

Cortese's biggest mistake: Forget Alan Pardew...

I agree, failure to understand football fans is definitely one of Cortese's problems. I wouldn't say it was his biggest though. -
Another cracking decision by Cortese. ****ing idiot.

Saints v Swindon,1st half & half time chat...

Sack the caretaker -
I didn't go to Bolton for the same reason. I can't remember the last time I've not bothered with two home games in a row. I can easily afford it, it's just the principle. They have got my ST cash up front (well done Nicola), they wont get another penny until next year now (unless we get a good draw in the FA Cup).
-
You used to be able to get money back, the amount depended on how many games were left. I expect Princess Nicola has put a stop to that tho.
-
Someone has got to be taking the ****, not even Cortese would sack Pardew and employ that useless skate ****.
-
So basically this thread is some bloke from Austria who never goes to any games and does nothing but criticise, telling a club legend he cannot have an opinion.
-
He did OK at West Ham, they stayed up by 5 points. Pardew got West Ham promoted and was seconds away from winning them the FA Cup. Zola may do well but he would be a big gamble. Being a big name is an asset in that it attracts players but it ends there, he might not be a very good League 1 manager despite being Italian and having a cool sounding name.
-
Big big gamble IMO, Pardew did way better at West Ham.
-
McClaren can **** off.
-
I'm guessing that's why he's favourite. I would prefer a manager who has actually achieved something though. Zola has done nothing in management, West Ham were not great under him.
-
Exactly what boxes does Zola tick?
-
Put the handbag away - I was only joking.
-
I would be happy with Widdrington but I can't see it being Cortese's choice. I don't think being a Saints old boy ranks high on his tick list.
-
But McDolalds have always had a high turnover of staff.
-
Why do people keep mentioning ONeil like it's likely to happen!?! Might as well make a top 3 of Ferguson, Wenger and Morinho.
-
I don't get the Zola thing, what exactly has he achieved as a manager apart from make an average West ham side look average? Being a great player and having a cool sounding name mean jack **** when it comes to being a manager.
