I can see them getting 4 wins out of that lot - if they improve.

This season is good but Bucharest was better.

I don't think he will go anywhere, I can't see a Prem club taking a punt on a League 1 player and I doubt any Championship club could afford what Saints would want for him. Poaching a player from Saints owned by a billionaire is very different to poaching a player from a skint Saints run buy a bean counter.

I don't get how people can work for a company that loses £300mill a year then moan like babies when they want to make cuts.

Munto Finance v Markus Liebherr (Notts County v Saints)
aintforever replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Notts County will be the next club to go into admin IMO, their keeper is on 15K a week and Munto are not going to be around for much longer. -
Should Pardew rest players in JPT game ahead of Leeds?
aintforever replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
You're talking ******, by your rationalle Chelsea would have fielded their strongest side against QPR, not their reserves. All good manager prioritise certain games over others, it's not even just the big 4 all the other teams do it, even some in our league. -

That's not true, apart from the fact that it's not just the big 4 who rest players for less important games. They have often lost to lesser teams as a result. Arsenal fielded a bunch of kids against Man City despite being weaker on paper. It's good management to rest your best players when needed. That means you prioritize. -
I'm guessing this is a case of The Echo getting too big for it's boots and Cortese is simply letting them know where they stand. In the past, with all the Lowe/PLC/takeover nonsense there was a bit of value in having them onside, now we have a billionare in charge and what the Echo writes makes no difference to anyone.

I would be happy to see Blair suffer the same fate as Saddam.

I wouldn't put our a weakened team for the sake of it but if I was manager, and thought some players would benefit from a rest, I would choose the FA Cup game because it's the least important. All managers prioritise games at some point, you never see Arsene Wenger say "we must win every game" then end up with half his team injured or suspended for a vital League match because they had to turn out for a Coca-Cola cup fixture a few days before hand. -

It's a great chance of a trip to Wembley so I would play a full strength side. We should use the FA Cup to rest important players. -
The internet has made the Echo pointless, Cortesse can do as he pleases IMO.

You can add Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal to that list - they all buy success, just get their money from different sources. The only teams I really hate are Man U and Pompey.

An effective means of protest in the heart of Southampton ...
aintforever replied to sotonjoe's topic in The Lounge
So they protested about climate change by sit for hours in front of their PC on facebook (creating CO2) then made a pointless journey into town (creating more CO2) to highlight something that doesn't need highlighting because it's on the national media 24/7. ****ing attention seeking retards. -
We're in the third tier and took more than that to Hartlepool on a Tuesday evening.

We won the tie though so it goes down as a win in my book.

Southampton/Portsmouth,city of culture joint bid!
aintforever replied to saint lard's topic in The Lounge
I'd laugh but it's probably our council tax that has gone to producing that awful card. Sometimes I dispair at our council, what a bunch of ****-wits. Make a complete balls up of the World Cup bid then this. -
How the hell is a commitment iriversable? If any government in the World could prove that man made climate change wasn't happening, they would do it in a shot. It's not in any government interests to spend billions on new energy technologies, or hand over billions to the 3rd world to do the same. The governments of the west have spent the last decades desperately trying to prove the environmentalists wrong. Even the national scientific bodies of China and India concur with the view that climate change is most likely man made - what the hell is their motivation?

A good relationship between club and Echo is way more important for the Echo than it is the club. The Echo should think about that before going against Cortese's wishes.
-
The trick is to practice and practice until it becomes second nature and nerves have little effect. Like walking, it doesn't matter how nervous you are you can still walk. I remember Le Tiss often practiced his penalties during the pre match warm-up at the Dell.

Oh don't be such a nob, no one's died. Your football team is going out of business - we hate you so find it funny - get over it.

Ditto, that would be fantastic. I have no sympathy for the thugs, they deserve everything they get.
