  1. Probably the Echo that did it after reading it on here!
  2. That is by far the most juvenile, pathetic bit of "journalism" that I have ever seen. I could understand if it came from a fans forum, but from a so-call professional newspaper........
  3. Bound to be a chump, though. ..... Right??????
  4. The life that I have Is all that I have And the life that I have Is yours The love that I have Of the life that I have Is yours and yours and yours. A sleep I shall have A rest I shall have Yet death will be but a pause For the peace of my years In the long green grass Will be yours and yours and yours. Leo Marks What makes this poem particularly poignant is that it was written for a girlfriend killed in an air crash, but became widely known because he used it as key for a secret code for an SOE agent, Violette Szabo, going on an almost suicidal mission during WWII. Marks worked for the British SOE (Special Operations Executive) which ran agents in enemy territory. His book "Between Silk and Cyanide - A Code Maker`s War 1941-45" is a superb read.

  7. This:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gettysburg-Us-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B0000015H1/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1299609213&sr=1-1 Randy Edelman has done some great stuff including "The Last of the Mohicans"
  8. Quite right, but let`s not forget that this is not just about the service personel who are losing their lives currently. The poppy represents the hundreds of thousands of soldiers, sailors etc who have died defending this country, whether it was against Hitler, the Kaiser or even Napoleon. By defiling the poppy, they are not making a stand against what is happening in Iraq or Afghanistan, they are dishonouring the memory of everyone who has died preserving the freedom that they now abuse.
  9. I wish that our team was as "together" as this lot!
  10. Comic Book Guy: Last night’s “Itchy and Scratchy Show” was, without a doubt, the worst episode *ever.* Rest assured, I was on the Internet within minutes, registering my disgust throughout the world.
  11. TBF Syphlilis always gets an undeserved bad press.

  13. Probably out in the snow purging himself with birch twigs.
  14. You should know by now - never let facts get in the way of a good moan.
  15. Although they were a P*rtsmouth band, I used to really enjoy Simon Dupree and the Big Sound. Before they hit the big time with "Kites", and morphed into Gentle Giant when "progressive" music took hold, they were damn good live band doing driven soul-type music. I saw them at the old Concorde Club at the Bassett Hotel a couple of times and just recently bought their first album "Without Reservations" on CD.
  16. Could you just tell what their appearance stats are? How long does it take to impress you? As you indicate, Sagonwski "impressed" when on loan. Didn`t last long did it. I don`t really know if Forte and N`Guessan are going to be any good but I am willing to give them a fair chance.
  17. Firstly, any excuses, if any are needed, will surely come when the season is finished or at least when promotion is impossible, not now. Once again a hysterical remark that the promotion campaign has fallen apart!! Have you actually looked at our position in the table??? Whilst the Walsall result was extemely disappointing and a chance missed, it has NOT put paid to our promotion chances. There are still 45(?) points to play for and we still have to play our promotion rivals. Wait till the end of the season and if we fail to get promotion I promise that I will be the first to say "F*ck Me! Alpine was right all the way along!", but until then just sit back and enjoy the eidelweiss poking their heads through the Alpine snow to greet the spring.
  18. We are not playing exceptionally badly. Whilst I accept that some of the performances have been below par, and do not match expectations, given the squad that we have, to say this is completely wrong.
  19. I am utterly convinced that I saw one of these in Braishfield around 18 months ago. I saw it twice. Once in the middle of the lane picking over an animal carcass and once, with a number of other people, landing in a tree in the same area. I kept telling people that I had seen an eagle but they all said that it was unlikely. Maybe I WAS right.
  20. I must say that for the first time in a while I am feeling quite depressed after last nights result. The fact that Cherries (who lost their top scorer, highly rated manager and have a very small squad) and Seagulls seem to be able to keep on getting results, home and away whilst we seem unable to avoid banana skins like Walsall and Tranmere is frustrating to say the least. I still have a lot of faith in Adkins. I don`t think that only 2 wins in the first 8 games of the season have helped him, but will have to be more consistant somehow.
  21. Just like rabbits!
  22. I didn`t understand anything that either he or the interviewer said. Sad really. I really love "Two and a Half Men". Will missed if it has finished prematurely.
