Have you heard the Hely Hutchinson Carol Symphony? It`s very good. It`s on this CD with Vaughn Williams "Fantasia on Christmas Carols" and a lot of other evocative Christmas stuff. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Orchestral-Music-Christmas-Victor-Hely-Hutchinson/dp/B00000DO9Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1260551493&sr=8-3 -

I read on the official website that tickets for the Norwich game for ST holders would be on sale until (I think) 28th November and that they were guaranteed their own seat if required. After that they would be on general sale. I went on the 28th and got my usual seat. No problem. *Just seen previous post. Memory still good at moment!!!

Whilst I totally agree with everything that`s been said about "Band of Brothers", around this time last year the HBO series "John Adams" was being shown. It a staggering peice of television starring Paul Giamatti as the second President of the US and told his story from just before the Revolution to his death. IMHO a masterpeice and well worth catching up with. http://www.amazon.co.uk/John-Adams-Complete-HBO-DVD/dp/B0017I1GAC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1260436950&sr=8-1 I love "Two and a Half Men". Always maintains a high laugh per episode ratio, and I also currently enjoy "30 Rock". Am I the only one who fancies Tina Fey something rotten??

I know that I`ll probably get flack for this, but the "James Taylor at Christmas" CD is just fantastic! Just a lovely warm brandy slipping down your throat! http://www.amazon.co.uk/James-Taylor-at-Christmas/dp/B000I0QK74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1260436741&sr=8-1 -
These skates do swim in very murky waters!

This is one of the things that I love about this forum. Within a couple of posts of the original one, things go off on so many, often surreal, tangents! Brilliant!
-
He was very good in "Last of the Mohicans".
-
I used to go in there when it was a crumbling (literally!) "backstreet" boozer. Couldn`t believe what they did to it to turn it into the venue that it now is.
-
It`s a brilliant venue and they always put together a good programme. To think that we nearly lost it a year or two back!!
-
Well I started this thread with Bellowhead at The Brook, and I have just got back from the same venue having seen the brilliant Oysterband at their best! They had the crowd in the palm of their hands. Terrific night all round.

Interesting that the swear filter responded to the "-****" of "u****"! Well I think that you get the idea!!

Watched "Martyrs" last night. It`s a film of the so-called "torture-porn" genre and a bit of a gruelling watch with a denoument that will split viewers into those that think that it`s pretentious clap-trap and those who will hail it as genious. The following from an Empire review sums it up I thought:- Nearly banned in France, u**** over here, Pascal Laugier’s film arrives with a dare-you-see-it? reputation — and it’s a work of rare, raw, brutal brilliance. Martyr’s macabre universe of child abuse, bloody reprisal and death cults is actually three movies in one — grisly revenge picture, visceral ghost story and extreme torture horror; an unflinching intensity, strong performances and a distressing twist cage it all together. Be warned: the final third is a harrowing test of stamina. Stick it out, and the provocative pay-off blends terror with the transcendent. Laugier’s remaking Hellraiser next: be very afraid...

Last night was the second time I have seen Milton Jones. I saw him about 12-18 months ago at the same venue. Extremely funny both times and virtually no repeat material. Really highly recommended.

I must admit I quite fancy seeing Tim Vine. I saw Stewart Francis a few weeks ago. Apart from the very occaissional swearword he was very funny. Almost a Canadian Milton Jones!
