  1. Wow! You must be a real bundle of laughs to chat with if you think that conjecture is ridiculous and serves no purpose whatsoever! I have never met anyone who only talks factually.
  2. Harry tapes are handed over in football probe City of London Police have won a court order against the News of the World forcing them to hand over taped interviews and documents relating to a football corruption investigation. The Sunday newspaper had refused when asked by the economic crime department, whose marathon football probe dates back to the start of the Premier League bung inquiry in January 2006. But the court order last week gave them no option but to co-operate. Tapes: Spurs boss Harry Redknapp The haul includes interviews with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie and Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric, all of whom have been on bail on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting for nearly two years. Storrie has been told by the HM Revenue and Customs, who are the lead authority in the investigation, he will be charged. Storrie says it concerns unpaid tax for Amdy Faye’s signing-on fee he received on joining Portsmouth from Auxerre for £1.5million in 2003. Storrie, on honeymoon when the deal was negotiated, will ‘defend the allegations in the strongest possible terms’. Redknapp’s part allegedly relates to an off-shore Monaco account into which £100,000 was paid for his percentage entitlement from the £5m sale of Peter Crouch from Portsmouth to Aston Villa in 2005. Redknapp said: 'This is about a discrepancy of about £10,000 in income tax when I’ve paid £10m in tax over the past 10 years. This is what it’s come down to and I’m sick of it.’ Former Pompey chairman Mandaric has added to the confusion by claiming cash in the Redknapp offshore account was paid by him for a proposed US business Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1224807/CHARLES-SALE-A-dozen-Premier-League-clubs-proud-poppies.html#ixzz0VmeBpTKQ
  3. You`ll learn!! This is TSW!!
  4. According to the press he said that she resembled "someone looking at themselves in the back of a spoon" and followed it with "sexual innuendo".
  5. I understand what you say here, but of course that works both ways. It is easy to be selective in what we read/quote and make it fit any agenda, assuming that we have one. My reason for starting this thread was not to dig up the past, but much in the same way as the "What If..." books work, discuss what might have been if the decision to keep or not to keep NP had been different. Sadly, as usual, it all ends up as a pro/anti Lowe argument.
  6. The problem is that if/when the Conservatives get in, it will make very little difference. This country swings between Red and Blue on a regular basis. Surely we all remember 1997 when people were sick to death of the Tories and New Labour were going to be the answer? The only difference is this time it`s Red to Blue when last time it was Blue to Red. Its a cycle that we can`t, for many reasons, get out of. All of the "major" parties are full of self seeking MP`s who only priorities are feathering their nests and doing and saying whatever they need to do to hold on to power. I am heartily sick to death of the "Yah-Boo" politics that we have to put up with in this country, where the well being of the ordinary people seems to be at the bottom of the list of priorities. Something needs to be done to break the mould. I don`t pretend to know how this is going to happen or who is going to do it. Turning to extremism, either left or right isn`t the answer (but could be a result) but a return to the values of common sense, coupled with fair-play for all may be a start. I won`t hold my breath waiting though.
  7. I believe that I read somewhere that no negotiations took place between Pearson and Lowe and that the first inkling that he had that he wasn`t being kept on was when his agent phoned him and told him. From that it would appear that Lowe had no intention of keeping Pearson on board regardless of monetary considerstion as his mind was set on going ahead with the "Total Football" experiment.
  8. A skate??
  9. Isn`t that what most good exciting wingers do??
  10. Not quite ALL of our fans!
  11. So Pardew is wrong then??
  12. Nice to read some common sense comments for a change.
  13. It was just a hypothetical question - an interesting (I thought) subject for a debate, not a "dig up the past" post. Bloody Hell!!
  14. It always seems strange to me that the "PC" brigade always preach "tolerance" but are never tolerant of any views opposed to theirs!
  15. I do hope that you have a tin hat ready for the incoming, you racist, Daily Mail reading Nazi bastard!
  16. With Leicester gaining promotion at the first attempt last season and top of the Championship this morning, it makes you wonder what would have happened if Rupert HAD stuck with Nigel Pearson. Would the old regime still be here?? Whilst I am extremely happy with our current situation, this must make one or two people on here think about eating their words!!
  17. Is that Helpmerhonda???
  18. Thanks for that. I did press "Translate" on my Google toolbar but it didn`t help much.

  21. We have had a "Memory Foam" mattress (not a topper) for over a year and it is excellent. It is worth trying various types in the shop but the trouble is that they all take a few nights to get used to. See this thread:- http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16982
  22. Does this mean that the food there will be vegetarian from now on? Oh...........................................McCarthey!! Sorry.
  23. Saw this at The New London Theatre last night. A staggering peice of theatre, brilliantly staged. The full sized horse puppets are brilliant. It is by turns exhilarating and heart breaking. The WW1 battle scenes are very well done. can`t recommend this highly enough. http://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/warhorse
