  1. Well, that wasn't a particularly good performance until we got the second goal. But we got the job done, well done lads! PS Lallana's ability never ceases to amaze me.
  2. 1-0 watford. wow
  3. Yes and thats unfortunate but we can't do anything about it (copyright Nigel Adkins). If we keep playing like we are the chances are one of those will not. 2 points dropped last night but there will be more of them by the end of the season, for us, WHU and (believe it or not) Reading. It will be tight but I'm pleased with how we're playing and we've already shown we are good at bouncing back from setbacks this season. Can't wait for saturday, my first game since Burnley. COYR
  4. If we win tomorrow night it would be a huge result. We should be able to follow it up with a win against Barnsley and go into a few tricky away games with loads of confidence. Plus its about time Reading dropped points where they shouldn't, we could be 7 points above them in a weeks time, 8 if you include goal difference. COYR, WIFM, WASWTOTL, WTFILN etc
  5. 85 will do it I'd imagine, Reading's run won't go on forever. If it does, fair play to them. Anyway WHU are hardly guaranteed to finish above us. 6 points from these two home games and we're in business.
  6. I make that 19 more points for us being conservative. If we play as well as we have been it will be more like 23/24.
  7. Cork was shocking, that pass he misplaced just before half-time was appalling.
  8. B. Doesn't anybody remember 2009? Plus the rivalry is very enjoyable IMO
  9. Spot on. I would happily hand some money over if it meant they'd survive (it wouldn't), especially since we will have superiority over them for the forseeable future.
  10. Jesus are they actually gonna go?
  11. Cardiff can have that one, they're far enough behind IMO.
  12. Got mine today for Barnsley and Cov. Hopefully I'll be able to get to Pompey and Donny too, as well as Millwall away. Real pain travelling from Nottingham but I can't miss this run-in, I've been waiting for something like this for years!
  13. New manager syndrome, Sky TV.
  14. There are. Off the top of my head: Hart Carson Stockdale Green Fielding Westwood Robinson Green Foster Forster Gilks Camp Ruddy Heaton Davis, like I said, around 12th choice.
  15. Walcott is occasionally capable of being devastating, like he was today. The problem Arsenal fans have is that 'occasionally' doesn't win you trophies. He does far too many silly things to be considered a really top player, even if he is a game-changer sometimes.
  16. Very decent goalkeeper but I think we would need better were we to go up. Also worth noting that he's been a fantastic professional in his time here, he could have jumped ship to WHU and chose not to. There would be a very nice symmetry to his time with us were we to go up this season, he was brought he expecting a promotion season, has been through an awful lot since and it would be amazing to finally get there. He will never play for England, I make him 12th-15th choice.
  17. What a man. Superb stuff. Now get Billy on.
  18. Just me stirring the pot here: do those who go down on 35-40 minutes feel bad that our support is noticeably much worse during that time because so much of our fanbase is no longer concentrating on the game? I would, which is why I would never leave my seat while the game is in the balance. A comfortable 2-0 on 91 minutes? I might head off then, but not when its competitive and I feel the team needs my support/concentration. I swear the mood filters down to the players and we play with less intensity at those times.
  19. I might be alone in noticing/caring about this, but in recent home games (more so than usually) there seem to have been an increasing amount of fans in and around the Northam/Kingsland corner heading down to the concourse well before half time. It starts at around the 37 minute mark and increases until around 42 minutes, by which time about a quarter of the fans seem to have left their seats and are on their way downstairs. The atmosphere drops off immediately and in the last two home games we have had dodgy spells just before half time; it was almost silent on 40 minutes against Burnley and I looked around me to see hundreds of previously occupied seats now empty. Its not for me to criticise someone for going and grabbing a beer (how dare you!), but I just don't understand that mentality. Presumably these are the same people who miss the first few minutes of the second half, too. How much of the game do they actually see? 75 minutes? Does it really make such a massive difference to wait until the half time whistle? Or when the stoppage time board goes up? Just an observation and perhaps its always been like this, but I swear this tendency has increased this season.
  20. I thought he was excellent when he first arrived in that shocking team we had in 2008. The injury setbacks he had that season put pay to his chances of a real career at this level, IMO.
  21. The main reason I have no sympathy is that this can all be traced back to their paying ridiculous wages to Campbell, James, Crouch, Defoe, Johnson etc to win the FA Cup. There you are, have your few seasons of unprecedented success, but don't get all upset when it comes back to bite you. I hope they go down and struggle for a reasonable amount of time. I do not hope they go out of business.

    Danny Fox

His delivery is superb at times but I'm not sure theres much between him and Harding in open play.
  23. That was an absolute pleasure to watch.
