Quality day, almost didn't make it due to a bout of illness yesterday but chuffed I went along. Davis 7.5, Good display, caught everything and one good save when Richardson left a through-ball. Richardson 6.5, not the best I've seen him play, almost cost us a goal with some hesitance at the back. Fonte 8, class, as always. A force at the back and a threat going forward, what more could you want? Seaborne 7.5, defended well and distribution much improved on what I have seen from him in the past. Harding 7.5, good overlapping play. Been very impressed with Dickson recently but Harding was just as much of a threat going forwards. Guly 8.5, MOM for me. Almos scored with some great skill in the first half, always a threat. Stephens 7, a few wasteful passes but always supported the play. Better than I've seen him before. Hammond 6.5, pretty quiet compared to his recent displays. Lallana 7.5, not at his best after injury, a few wasted chances in the first half. However, when he's off form he's still better than most players out there and he skipped past defenders at will in the second half. Connolly 7, good link-up play but should have scored late on. Lambert 8, quality. Never looks like missing a penalty. Superb assist for the second goal.

Model professional, great interview. Hope to see more of him in the future.

Have to say I agreed with everything Poyet said. Probably talks more sense than our Nige. Not that I mind, NA is great value for money in his interviews.

I think we will need a win to be sure of promotion on the final day. And we will win by 1 goal. And there will be a scare in stoppage time. The final whistle will be awesome.

Sounds like the Brighton players have been celebrating pretty hard, lets hope it catches up with them on saturday!

Didn't say he was..... Now Barnard is out it might be worth playing him up top with Lambert, I don't think he is at all comfortable on the right. Having said that, I thought Connolly was superb when he came on on Saturday, so maybe he should start vs Brighton.

He's an enigma. He'll burst past a player one minute and look fired up, the next he will receive the ball on the touchline and slow the game to walking pace before sending his cross behind for a goal kick. Its all about whether it is worth putting up with the frustrating moments for the times his movement/skill split the opposition defence, and he got us 2 extra points on saturday that could be crucial. My conclusion; infuriating but justified.

Lets see where both clubs are in 5 years.

Davis - 7, good distribution in the main, great save at the end although it wouldn't have counted anyway. Butterfield - 7, a couple of poor crosses but was constantly available for the overlap in the second half. Jaidi - 6, not much to say, looked fine until he went off. Fonte 7.5, class above again, kept the pressure on Bristol by picking up all the clearances and got us going again. Dickson - 8, ran all day, lots of direct movement through their defence. Exactly what we needed today. Guly - 7, the enigma. Lots of good things, brilliant goal, but then he will be complacent and give the ball away in the promising position. Hammond - 7.5, kept the ball, kept us moving. I've changed my mind about him this season, he knows his job and does it efficiently. Stephens - 7, wasn't too impressed in the first half but he looked handy in the second half. His improvement mirrored the team's. Forte - 7.5, not sure where people are coming from when they say he was shocking. His final ball isn't great but he is direct and worried them a few times. Lambert - 6.5, not his best game, looked like he picked up a knock and should have scored with a header. Barnard - 6.5, barely saw him until he came off. Hope he makes a quick recovery. Seaborne - 7, not his biggest fan but he did some intelligent things with the ball in the second half. Connolly - 7.5, excellent. Kept the ball, looked sharp and found space. He could be vital in the last 5 games. N'Guessan - 6.5, did fine and almost scored with a bullet shot.

I prefer those songs to the 'Liebherr wonderland' song, it will be easier to hear what we are singing about. Should be sung every game in my opinion.

Davis 7 - Did everything he needed to very efficiently. Richardson 8 - Looked good, motored up and down the wing on the overlap. Jaidi 8 - Gets better every time I see him play. Powerhouse. Fonte 7 - Good display as per usual. Dickson 8.5 - MOM for me, real threat down the left and worked really well with Lallana. Guly 7 - Well taken goal and good on the ball but needs to work on his crossing. Stephens 7 - Composed, shame he had to come off. Hammond 7.5 - I didn't used to rate Dean, but he bosses the midfield now at St Marys. He knows his limitations and is very effective at what he does. Lallana 8.5 - Absolutely fantastic before he had to come off. Hope he's ready on Saturday. Lambert 8 - Much better than I've seen recently from him, contributed to the build-up well. Barnard 7.5 - Scored, worked hard. Chaplow 5 - When was the last time he actually played well? Gobern 6 Connolly 6.5

Really want a convincing 3-0 for this one, my nerves can't take any more games like Saturday.

IF we go up then we need to make some changes IMO. I agree about a new CB to partner Fonte, I would also like at least one new CM as I don't think Hammond or Chaplow are good enough to put us in contention for a top half finish, which I think is a realistic ambition. If Lambert plays like he did last season then we don't need a new targetman, if he plays like he is this season then maybe we do. I'm a big fan of Kelvin but I don't think he would rank as one of the better keepers in that division, so if we can sign a promising young keeper (like Leeds did with Schmiechel) then that would be a boost. Somehow I doubt Adkins would be that ruthless, though.
