Now a sizeable minority are moaning because it looks like we won't make the playoffs.

that's what I was saying, but you lot were saying no! They're going to say that he's stabilised the ship and will agree to pay some cash. Meanwhile, they'll also have to prove that they have serious interest from prospective purchasers. If that happens, they may get a stay of execution. If they get early wind of it being impossible, I guess they'll go into admin before the hearing. It will be very interesting if they take a gamble and go to the hearing without any prior idea of what may happen.

Right ... so why on earth has Chanrai seized control? Is it really just to "get a better look" as somebody has suggested? What on earth is he set to gain by doing so?
-
The tax bill is only £7.5m though isn't it? Couldn't he arrange a payment plan which buys him time to find them a new owner? If he's not prepared to stick a bit more cash in to stabilise the club before selling, then why would he seize control of it in the first place? Believe me, I want them to disappear, I just find it hard to believe at the moment.

I don't get it. If the Hong Kong guy is genuine, won't he just stump up the HMRC money on Weds if the only alternative offered is liquidation?

Next week ... a thread about how doctors aren't doing their jobs properly, started by non-doctor know-it-alls.
-
I think one of the mods should dig out the thread from the time of AP's appointment in which member upon member declared that AP would be given time before being judged. The general feeling then was that this was a stabilisation season and that next season would be the big push. I'd be very interested to see how many members have changed their spots as it were, and have now started piling on excess pressure when they said they would refrain from doing so. There's no justification for this. Peope forget so quickly where we were at the beginning of the season and ambition goes to peope's heads far too quickly. I've said it before and I'll say it again; a Wembley final, beating Pompey and a mid-table finish would make me as happy as I could reasonably expect to be this season.

They can be purchased new on pay as you go for £342 from Tesco.

Not half as funny as it is reading you bunch of tarts whipping yourselves up into a frenzy over your predicament.

Yeh, he initiated a brief chat with me once when I was queuing for tickets at SMS as well. All this Cortese = angel, Lowe = devil is a little monotonous to say the least!
-
Well I don't know about 10, but you get the drift. I expect there will be a fair amount of "buy now, see if you want the ticket later" and lots of 'spares' will be sold on.
-
good good. stop wasting money. Our unit numbers across the armed forces already show we're a military nobody, I can't see what we're chasing tbh.
-
I guess I just find it a bit odd that I could get a list of ten friends' customer numbers and go down and buy ten tickets, just to resell them for a profit etc. If I go down to the stadium to do that, how do they know I have permission to use all those other people's customer numbers? It all seems a little more open to abuse than it could and perhaps should be. If you want to buy linked tickets online, you have to use linked customer numbers. In other words, you can't just type in an infinite load of customer numbers in order to buy an infinite number of tickets. Maybe it should be the same for sales in person. Perhaps the database does need to be tarted up a bit and turned back into a membership system with some sort of id card which would have to be shown at point of purchase. Maybe it's not possible, who knows? It seems odd to go from one per season ticket holder to a system which seems a bit of a free for all to be honest. Maybe they should have had tickets on sale to people with a certain number of games attended this season before having today's lottery. I'll be seeing how many 'spare' tickets appear on here for sale with interest though.
-
I can't for the life of me work out why there are pictures of fans holding handfuls of tickets on the OS. I thought today was database sales, one per customer. Surely they're not letting people go to the ticket office as an individual with an infinite list of customers and just buying as many tickets as they want?

Not with regards the preparation or purchase of food they don't.

Reading the article very closely, it does leave room for a shirt sponsor on home and away shirts, but not REPLICA shirts. I wonder if there will be a small scale deal with a local company just for shirts worn by players? It will be interesting to watch this one pan out.
-
I don't think anything you said contradicts with what I said! My point was exactly that; Cortese has weighed up the offers or lack of for headline sponsorship and decided to pursue other means of making a lack of headline sponsorship commercially viable. That's not to say it won't be positive or interesting, but merely that the situation hasn't been brought about by Cortese knocking back a muli-million pound deal with a major company. Rather, he's decided he doesn't want to flog our shirt rights for a 'paltry' six figure sum to some poxy local business for fear of cheapening the brand etc.
