Why is it not Saints related this is Saintsweb where folks like to talk about pertinent issues about Southampton Football Club. For Saints fans estranged from the city or country like Ohio its their only link to snippets true and false about the club. Some threads do degenerate into a point scoring bunfight very quickly.

Ooooo even I felt the float bob under with that one. Have fun James

His mere presence in the Everton box on the defenders radar had them windy enough to drop a clanger twice. Good job you ain't the manager otherwise we would be like Chelsea Citeh etc and just buy a team in allowing the academy players to just collect dust and fester away

All of this is based on last years accounts, not having read all of that in depth, I would assume that running up that level of debt was secured against us finishing 8th and a cheque for a reputed £83m dropping on the SMS doormat at the end of this season. Which if I am still assuming correctly would explain the supposed bonus for MoPo getting us to finish 8th. As much as Cortese gets painted as the Bond villain, I doubt he would have piddled that amount of money up the wall with his eyes closed and moistening his finger to check the wind direction. He was pretty driven, the guy is a banker by trade for many years and switching on your own career dissipation light by unbalancing the books goes against the grain. But still punt out a concerned message, gets your estate valued through the press at the speculation increasing the value of your playing assets adding to the value of the club, and rather than Moyes last year stating that he had £100m+ burning a hole in his pocket and have every potential selling club pressing the add 10%+ to the sale price, we get less dicking around. As has been said already it's going to be a long summer................. Today's announcement from Bournemouth is financial difficulties as they have no Sugar Daddy TV deal in the Championship to paper over the cracks. Just my naive view.

Definitely do your homework on the destination. Fly to Vienna arrive in Bratislava in another country. Fly to Frankfurt (now they do add Hann) and you are a good 1.5hrs away from Frankfurt making good use of the unrestricted Autobahn speed limits. However when I have to go to South East Poland rather conveniently they fly to a little town called Rzeszow leaving me only an hours drive down the painful Polish road system rather than 2 plus from Krakow, god knows why they fly there as there ain't much touristy around, Ukraine is just down the road so it could be that, but the daily flight in and out is nearly always fully booked well in advance. The only real gripe with them is you can never sleep as they are making announcements all the time: has anyone actually won the €1m on those bloody scratch cards?!

I wonder if the Tropical Fishtank him and Rupert went out and bought one afternoon off to install in SMS is still there, or was it sold off during the administration?

Watch out this will be tomorrow's Daily Mail Exclusive: Southampton Season Ticket Sales Get Off To a Worrying Start! Following the fans fears of all the Clubs star players being sold off and the managers imminent departure to Spurs. Queues on the first day were reported as poor. in addition fans have reservations that the club has a Woman in charge with German ancestory: especially as Southampton was bombed so heavily during WWII.

Does anyone recall when Strachan was here and the Leeds Managers job was vacant, back then it was still considered a top job in the English footballing World. Strachan had us putting "better" teams out joint on a regular basis and his stock was very high. Based on him having played for them to the media it was a perfect fit, it was probably in the days of Saintsforever and the thread was a frenzy with just about every member online refreshing by the second then someone posted the Daily Mail morning back page up with the Exclusive: Strachan to be named as Leeds manager tomorrow, opening line: the Leeds board will reveal Gordon Strachan as their new manager during a press conference at midday tomorrow (along those lines). As you can imagine the place went into meltdown even the server crashed under the weight of refreshing fingers. As we all know it turned out to be cobblers......... It's going to be a very very very long summer with all of this clap-trap especially between the end of the season and the World Cup then from when England get knocked out until the 31st August. Best buckle up and stick them all on ignore. -
All of these threads and a fair few of the heavy reading between the lines reactions, does show how badly scarred so many of us are from seasons past before the Leibherr takeover. We had gems of players both homegrown or made good over a season just depart us with no real effort primarily to balance the books, we had good managers who walked away when the promise of greater achievement the following season was there for us to see. So many negative reactions across the threads seem to have their roots in the pot where we were before. Maybe I am being deluded, but whereas all the chit-chat was cheap bs in days gone by I am prepared to believe the comments now being made will actually hold water. in this case what's to say that KL, RK, LR and Uncle Tom Cobbley on the board haven't had a chat with MP and they are all happy with things and him. He and his family are happy here and in reality the fact that he does have 12 months left on his contract and when he and the club says there is no great rush, there is actually no great rush. i seem to recall that when Adkins had proved he had the minerals for the job his contract extension was signed in January after joining in the Autumn but wasn't announced until we had secured promotion as they thought contract discussions would be a distraction in the public domain......... And have players taking their foot off the gas and blowing promotion.

Jeez if I score here they will all be on the pitch like they sing and we'll get a points deduction the boss won't get his bonus and then I won't get a cake when I leave......... Still I know I'm off to Brazil in the summer!

I was surprised our 2 goal scorers weren't included in the pole for a bit of mirth. -

I think Charlton is just one of those things, just like players who will blow your mind on the pitch yet come to management are not very good, seems like he has been good for us Ramirez and Osvaldo aside. Not sure who was first Pardew or Reed, but he mentioned Adkins was on our radar for a while when he came in, and no doubt Pochettino when Nigel was wobbling. Ralph's comments in the other thread, he is viewed as the right shaped peg in the right shaped hole at the moment.

The fact that at only 18 and 2ish seasons of Premier League footy under his belt he has made the team speaks volumes. As they said on MOTD2 last night no Man U players in the team of the year first the first time in ages. I also noticed that Ashley Cole was trying pretty damn hard yesterday, no doubt knows his slot is under threat and his summer depends on the last few games, although going on Saturdays game Baines certainly did look pretty inert in front of Roy.

Don't think you will see many bizarre games where the team winning by 2 goals doesn't score. What was pleasing was we kept our foot on the gas for 90 minutes, some winkles will say that Everton had an off day but when we are on it it's great to see the opposition players bickering with each other. Clyne and Shaw both played well, Jose and Dejan looked very comfortable, Artur looked bored. Big Vic showed why we spent money on him he was so comfortable and able on the ball, liked the way he stuck one on Berkley and the lad scurried back into his hole for the rest of his time on the pitch. Although his best moment for me was in the second half was he was in between 2 Everton players somehow he slipped and was on his bum immediately he was back up rising above the pair of them winning the ball. Cork worked really well with him and as for Steven Davis my MOTM what a shrewd bit of business getting him was the bloke never stops working and allows Adam to do his stuff. Rickie as always showed his experience, if he and young Sam can click that could be a tasty partnership, Sam just needs pitch time, v Arsenal he took to the responsibility of being the strike focus, today he looked a little shy to start with but got better. Mrs JBS watching Rickie and Sam is like watching Father and Son. Nice to see Roy with us yet again today, he must really be accumulating a fair few ticket bonus points.
