The 'getting a bit desparate' Centre Back thread.
John Boy Saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
The writing has been on the wall for a while that we need one. A little surprised we let Martin go out on loan as I thought the more pitch time he had the better he got, that said he always seemed assured when asked to start in previous years, unless he was the sacrificial lamb in the Clyne deal? With them and Fonte not wishing to re acquaint themselves with each other. -
Not for me I'm afraid Flatters to deceive, shone at Boro when surrounded by mediocrity, never performed for England (which should have been the fluorescent graffiti). On the Liverpool training ground allegedly pure dynamite scoring "Worldy's" assists aplenty, I appears that if you stick him in front of a whopping great big crowd the lad gets stage fright!! We don't need potential passengers.

BBC stats have 60-40% possession to Stevenage!!!!

Not a surprise they have been a bit handy for a few years. I would keep an eye on Wigan this season, brother in law said Chelsea caught them cold first 6 minutes, then Chelsea had trouble getting hold of the ball for the rest of the game when he made the trip up there. We know what happened Saturday v us when many thought it was a good 3 point chance on paper. Tonight v Forest they are just playing footy in top gear stroking it around, Forest are just chasing shadows Wigan not even breaking a sweat and 2-0 up.

With this in mind is there a competitor who might make use of your services? Giving you a bit of schadenfreude at the same time, and straight in a job with the redundancy money sitting tightly in your bank. However if this is an option make sure you see out your notice and get your money, as the old employers might make life very hard for you if they find out.

He'll get some stick for that especially as he will have to cadge a lift to Staplewood now, unless he gets the Hythe ferry then cycles up there: That should be his punishment from the club for the first month of his ban. Amazing though at 4am in the morning there were Rozzers about to knick him, what are the chances of that seeing as the OB never seem to be around when you want them to be, I bet someone grassed him up, which considering the crime and the powerful car he was driving is not a bad thing.

Whilst business mileage is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things as emissions are the overriding factor, it's how many miles a year you drive, if the car is going to sit outside your place of work from 9-5 5 days a week then take the car allowance route to run it yourself and claim back business mileage. If you are racking up the miles and your car is being hammered as a result I would opt for the full on company car route as wear and tear far outweighs the tax penalty.

Anyone remember the Big Cat seen roaming around Sherfield on Loddon and Bramley in north Hampshire a few years ago? There had been a day with multiple sightings, I was living in Chineham at the time, about 3 miles from the nearest sighting, we were on the edge of the village with open fields in 3 directions. Without thinking I stood having a smoke in the garden that evening and heard a rustling in the bushes which gave me a start, all of a sudden I thought of the Big Cat and slowly crept towards the door to go inside heart racing, as I reached the door the cause of the rustling came into view............ It was 2 bloomin Deer!!

Went to one a good few years ago, nice to meet folks have a bit of a giggle and reminisce. But as th evening wore on it was just like being at school again with the little cliques from all those years ago surfacing. What pleased me was being a bit of billy no mates at school (which before the Trolls out there rub their hands with the thought of fresh meat, friends I have now are stunned at) I could just get up and walk away from sad individuals. The best part was one of the lads who was bit of a gentle giant, quiet boy, when at School had found his own little niche in life and been immensely successful at it. The folks greasing up to him were amazing, but best of all he was able to give them the same cold shoulder they afforded him, except they just could not see it: very amusing to watch from across the room.

Reverse psychology my dear Bearsy.................................. Plus the Fat Lady has not been seen in her dressing room running up and down through her scales!!! So keep your powder dry for a little longer.

I have speedy infinity and it's still poo. I also have a friend working at SMS and they said that the new site is not very good, people aware of it too. Noticed Blackpool have the same and that is carp too. Typical FA if it's a league wide must have template, "lunch was nice thanks" "weekend in Paris! How lovely!" "week in the Maldives!! Where do I sign".......

Just reading both the Sun & the Mirror, coupled with the mega thread for some Uruguayan, "Adkins has tabled a bid": looks like Cortese is dealing with the big money and Nigel is picking up the bits and pieces. -
All you can eat buffet places in and around Southampton?
John Boy Saint replied to RedSolo's topic in The Lounge
Second that went there for a family lunch in March everyone came out with satisfyingly full tums. I would recommend you book as there were loads waiting for a space on the Saturday lunchtime we were there. also it's not a £9.95 a plate go and serve yourself type place, you order off the menu everyone dips in and you order as you want more. However pace yourself as if your eyes are bigger than your stomach and you leave a load of untouched dishes you will get charged full menu price for those left dishes: certainly stops good food going in the bin and folks taking the whatsit. -

Big bit of Strapping round his right knee in that Sun article. -
Funny times indeed, last week eldest Daughter got her A levels then tears when she realised she had just missed her 1st choice and resigned to her insurance, her UCAS was not updated so she politely contacted her first choice to ask about the UCAS update, within a short space of time she gets a reply and is instantly bouncing round the house "Congratulations, see you in September". Me in the poor house but very proud as only 12 places up for grabs. Today youngest waiting for her English retake. She got the necessary C which keeps the door open for the next stage in her beauty empire training, thank goodness.

Should it pop its little Cloggs round yours fess up, make a little coffin for it and keep it somewhere cool so your Nephew can bury it in the garden preferrably under a Rose bush, Roses are "carnivorous" and always thrive on a bit of decaying pet through their roots. Then take him down the pet shop for a replacement, they are cheap. If you decide to cover it's demise make sure you know what sex it was, Boy Hamsters are much more friendly than Girl ones.

Quite probably the Macaronis in cahoots to jack the money up. If in the 70's you could stuff the press positions behind the goals for European or International games full of guys with empty cameras banging off flash bulbs whenever the opposing foreign devils were attacking the home goal. Then add the recent dodgy dealings in Italian Football, mixed with the number of teams in financial strife, a bit of mutual back scratching to get some money in from overseas wealth would not be a surprise. If Bologna are going to fanny about with €15m are they really going to settle for less than €10m that will no doubt be demanded to be paid in instalments. Still keeps us entertained while nowt else is going on................. Probably all a massive smokescreen and 3 other bigger players are signing as we speak shrouded in the fug, for a big Taa-Daa moment.
-
We had the whip hand there for once we had no need or desire to sell Oxo so we could mess about to our hearts content. We have a little of the upper hand here Bologna are skint. Still it leaves the door open to gazumping as we all well know.
-
and that was made 10 years ago too!!

pretty useless if no other player can keep up! Anyway I seem to recall on Sunday afternoon us breaking away v the superstars of Man City and we were 3 then 5 v 2 homing in on their goal to ultimately score a second, even misery guts on MOTD 2 said it was "like the Red Arrows!".

Well if the deal collapses then the Colin Todd fiasco angle would have been covered. Blimey imagine having an internet forum back in the late 1970s with dial up speeds you might have had back then! The threads would be more fragmented than they are now as the transfer window would have closed before your post uploaded or the page refreshed. Oh for 4 channels on your Tele and every game to kick off at 3pm on a Saturday.

Done it myself on Studland beach, worked a treat to put a bit of distance between us and a family with obnoxious kids who persisted in running through our little patch with bloody flip flops on flicking sand everywhere, they P'd everyone off parents couldn't give a toss. Next day same family turned up pretty soon beach walls were popping up everywhere in their vicinity.
