  1. lasted 63 minutes............that'll be 2 weeks recovery
  2. Whats the point - they are never ready to play the Saints system for weeks after they join.
  3. .......spoke too soon defaulted to the norm.
  4. Longy looks to be making a point
  5. Shit!!..........just realised I missed The Repair Shop tonight, I like that..................maybe we can take this lot down there for Jay, Steve, and the gang to see if they can get them fixed
  6. Commentator pipes up "Redmond goes off, hopefully its not a serious injury" probably just about every Saints fan who has watched the last 2 games hopes he is out for weeks.
  7. Aussies win hey ho
  8. ...........to peruse my stamp collection?
  9. Seeing as we had just the half baked marathon v Swansea as our only pre season game, we need the bulk of the first XI playing to get the cohesion that was missing on Saturday. Win this, win Sunday, then maybe dick about with the line up next week.
  10. We all know we are being seriously hampered by the log jam caused by the volume of "rubbish" we have bought in recent years, maybe at last we have reached the point where we are just wiping our mouth, taking it on the chin, because the bottleneck these players are causing might well have reached the stage where we are in danger of risking the overall big money of the premier league. 2-4 million euros for Boufal whilst it looks paltry - his performances for us are not exactly a glittering window display.
  11. And there were numpties on here seriously thinking he could do a job for us when he was released by Liverpool.
  12. About time someone on the fringes of the squad really puts the squeeze on Redmonds position - he was a passenger v Palace as he is in so many games with his predictable play...........anyone claiming “but he did” had a shot on goal: that wasn’t a shot that was a easy pass to their keeper.
  13. Seeing as they already publish the table complete with the cobblers lines - no doubt our game against will be billed as a relegation zone 6 pointer! 😃 ............don’t you just love the alphabet to see Spuds beneath us 🤪
  14. Never forget USA v Ingerland 1950 - the score that shocked everyone - a team of part timers beating the Kings of Football the report on the telegram when it came through was seen as a miss type England must have won 10-0 or 10-1, didn’t cause much of a hoo-ha in the papers because England had the same day lost in the cricket to the West Indies which was a shock in itself. But then read the link we didn’t batter them when England had a little more about them.
  15. When you hear that Palace had 4 pre season games and we just had the Mickey Mouse marathon against Swansea they looked like they knew what they were doing compared to us looking pretty at times but looking toothless. Whilst some are pointing the finger at Smallbone and his inexperience he was no less effective than the player on the opposite side of the pitch with 10 years under his belt. Redmond was bloody awful. Still Palace played in a way that doesn’t suit the Hasenhüttl blueprint - at the end of the day same shit different season to kick off proceedings.
  16. And gone to sleep too
  17. Glad I hadn’t binned my 9 nil bingo card! Redmond has been bloody crap
  18. See we have Jonathan Moss on the whistle for this one, hope he's had a good pre season. Just looked and a whole heap of our whistle blowing favourites are hitting 50 this year - Moss, Mariner, Friend, Atkinson, Skate Boy Mason has to wait another year, and good ol Mike 'look at me' Dean is the Daddy of the Blind, illegitimate, literate, chaps that officiate the games at 52 - retirement age use to be officially 48 but EU employment law removed that, so long as you can meet the fitness requirements you can crack on until you break or the assessors say you are crap. Apparently from something I read Dean, Atkinson, and Oliver are on £200k a year, most of the rest on £70k with £1500 per game appearance money.
  19. I was pretty certain that in moving JWP away, the ref does actually look down at the spot, if he sees it looks like a ploughed field he is going to say something. It’s not like anyone has seen any super slo-mo closeup, like you get in golf coverage, evidence that has actually shown his boots in JCB setting - obviously in loitering on and around the spot moving his foot about just over the grass he’s not only fooled the taker but gobshoite Keane too - JWP isn’t stupid by any stretch of the imagination he isn’t going to do something stupid to queer his chances of playing for England. Most of us have crept up behind a mate, stood behind them to the left and tapped them on the right shoulder and them turn to find no one there.........or is that sort of thing frowned on these days due to the potential psychological trauma it might inflict on the victim of the jape? Anyway JWP should have taken a shovel to the spot because once Rice gets his £80m move to Chelsea he ain’t going to get a look in.🤪
  20. I have to say despite him being a bit of a cockwomble especially in the way he left us, I wouldn't be surprised that letter is true, as when we met him after a Saints pre season match a few years back, he came across as a very nice chap, happy to chat like old friends while quite a few of the other players we eager to get on the bus, despite only a handful of Saints fans being present. Paper looks a bit sparse to be genuine...........but then I guess when you can spend gazillions on a player, a few reams of different bespoke paper for every occasion is a bobbins expense.
  21. Was that him thumbing for a lift outside Staplewood? Pilchards you buffoon! No wonder he was looking pissed off if you just ignored his international "give us a lift mush" signal...........I don't know ;-)
  22. As long as he continues to being receptive of Ralphs advice, I can't see Ralph giving up on a stone he has polished so much already. Young Michael is only 20 and has Premier League experience and goals under his belt (absolute gem Boxing Day), if Danny and Che hit the new season ground running what better drive does Obafemi need to get a slice of that. Be a shame to see him go out on loan at the moment.
  23. Did you not think that the nuts on the bar just didn't taste like they use to. ☺️
  24. Should have gone out on the pull with Foden and Greenwood
