I thought he was off to play with the Macaronis at Lazio the original Das Boot has a lot to answer for in my vocab

Why would we want Walcott - he’s made of glass! And at 31 seemingly runs against the grain of our more recent recruitment policy.

Seemed like a bit of fluidity was beginning to show in our play. Thought when Che was subbed we just lost a bit of impetuous up top, he does work very hard and the telepathy between him and Danny is beginning to show.

2 more and they can shut the fuck up about us last season. Glad I watched this and recorded top gear

So what happens if Salah gets a hattrick - does Watkins get the ball because he scored his hattrick first?

Well they managed to get a video reel of 9 minutes of him doing his stuff, certainly looks the part, looks hard working. The proof of the pudding will be after a dozen games in the Premier League. -
As long as they fit better than the interim shirts we had knocked up after Nik-Nak got the arse with Adidas or someone, I had a home version labelled 3 times bigger than normal, and what was a very nice dark away shirt, I can pop it on, shave my legs slip on some 6" stilettos and a bit of lippy and call myself Joanna where it comes down to mid thigh!

Guido Carrillo - Official: Free Transfer to Elche

Surprised the deal didn't make it onto BBC Watchdog Rogue Traders - Some foreign Johnnies taking advantage of a gullible old man and his idiot nephew fleecing them out of all their savings for "something that was not even worth half what they paid" - said the expert hidden in the cupboard under the stairs watching the secret camera footage. When things are looking gloomy in the Monaco boardroom, I bet all someone has to do is mention Carrillos name and they all cheer up. -
often a myth but I have a Holly Tree that hardly has a berry on it most years, absolutely smothered in berrys this year?

I watched it in a hotel bar through gin soaked eyes, I was more concerned at us keeping the lead even if Burnley weren't trying hard enough. As for the quality of Football when I saw it was a 8pm kick off on a Saturday I did think jeez thats a bit of pants game for a Saturday prime time, especially as Burnleys style of football is more workman like than finesse. But then if you are up against Little Mix looking for new band, followed by Strictly Blackpool memories, into Casualty, then clashing with the ITV option of BGT Sky no doubt thought 8pm for our game was perfect scheduling, only hardcore nutters will be tuning in. At the end of the day we won the game against a dogged opponent, at a ground where we ain't done much for Donkeys years, the goal was well worked. Actually the bright spot was the fact that very quickly Che was aware of where Danny was and fired in a ball that Ings just had to make contact with, so you can hope that a little bit of chemistry is coming together there, and whilst a few on here are going "drop Adams play Long, Obafemi, etc" Maybe Ralph can see the connection between them beginning to form, and there is no doubt Adams is an industrious player with a brain between his ears. What do I know, I watched the game on a golf weekend half cut as the buggers were trying to get me crocked for Sunday. (I will add that we and the venue were very covid aware and secure)

I didn’t watch the game as I mistakenly accepted an invite to play golf this morning - when I realised my error I felt guilty, but after the Brentford game I felt less so. Reading through these pages and listening to Mrs JBS summary (gloating Spurs mate txt me despite setting record and avoiding looking on my phone) seems like I made the right decision, even if I did lose one ball in the bushes and 2 in the lakes ( as promised in the build up thread). When I sat down at home, grabbed my iPad first thing to pop up my memories on Facebook and a post showing the league table from this day 6 years ago................Saints were 2nd behind Chelsea!! I might take a peek at the recording at some point.

Dopey punch from Gibbs for the Baggies to “fell” “Ham-ez” - you have to be daft as a brush to put your hands anywhere near the face of a South American player.

Jeez in these days of wonderous electronic technology - my Wife and I both have season tickets, remarkably we both live under the same roof, we both get on well in each others company. Both our season tickets are registered to the same address, I was told after the move from the old system and the purchase of out ST's, that I now had access to both accounts from my email, whereas before to get into my account I had to use my supporter number and password, to get access to my Wifes - my email and password. Just tried to do this opting stuff - apparently my Wife isn't eligible to be included in my opted in group.............she paid for the bloody season tickets. Now I have to phone the ticket office yet again to sort what should be a simple solution. Be interesting to see how much gets refunded of the Spurs game to her card.......................all good fun.

Well I have to confess to having a case of the Glasgows or whoever he masquerades as these days. Without thinking, on Monday evening I was asked if I wanted to play Golf this Sunday teeing off at 9:40am, half way through Tuesday I had a thought "damn Saints kick off at midday Sunday - I won't be home in time" - I'll set the game to record and watch when I get home plus hope no one tells me the score. Then I watched the Brentford game end to end, and all angst of missing this game "live" disappeared. So I am quite looking forward to spoiling a good walk. If we were allowed in the stadium to watch, no way would this "error" have been made. Quite honestly having watched saints in person since 21st January 1978, as a 13 year old having made his own way from north of Basingstoke to the game with a couple of chums (a tale for another day), in that time I have seen Saints dish up some real crap football, indeed there has been some sparkling stuff sprinkled in too, but the record books point to the fact that I have witnessed more of the former. Middle of Winter I have walked over the Northam Bridge back to the car in the swirling rain getting rather wet, discussing the poor game we just endured with my mate, and him saying he will probably give the next game a miss, then next game we are both sat in the stadium watching much of the same, cheering in hope. I guess that's the word HOPE. Watching the resumption games gave Hope, Hope that we have turned that corner, Hope that we see some good football, Hope that we will get a good start to the season...............90 minutes in I'm watching a repeat of so many season starts..........180 minutes in, I've tuned into Dave or Gold on TV! Given the worlds uttered by Ralph these last few days, I can't believe I am keener to spend 3 and a half hours walking 5 miles, sinking a few long putts, slicing a few balls into the bushes or the lake, than making sure that I am eagerly sat (sadly) watching the football team I have keenly followed for 46 years. I Hope we play well, I Hope we win, I even Hope we draw (as that means we might have stopped the rot), I Hope that we put in some effort, I Hope we make our passes................ but right now I Hope its doesn't bloody rain. Ahhh thats better

Thats was the pre 19/20 season resumption friendly game of 3 halves. Like I mentioned on another thread, in commentary for the Palace game it was mentioned more than once that Palace had played and were unbeaten in all four of their pre season friendlies v Oxford, Charlton, Millwall and Brondby - Oxford have proved to be no slouches, Charlton and Millwall are going to be game as badgers against another London club and Brondby I don't know much about, but they ain't come to take in the sights of Croydon and that ended up as a draw so it must have been a game of some effort from both sides. They looked like they had been playing football in the game with us. You can run round cones etc until the cows come home, but if anyone has watched a game at pitch level its a very different view, to being elevated, even a few rows, in the stand or watching on TV. You need to know where your team mate is through a crowd and not the predetermined positioned crowd of the training pitch, only a few games against unknown variables (another team) is going to get your eye back in.........but then we all know that.

Me too, still at least the monies are supposedly split between the 2 clubs like gate receipts. Maybe at 22 minutes 30sec into a half a designated player needs to go down requiring treatment for a minute to feign a drinks break. That said Ralph had 15 minutes in the middle to stir the pot and light a fire under them in the last 2 games and that achieved bugger all!
-
Good on him, that was getting into the players who who had no desire to take one.
-
lasted 63 minutes............that'll be 2 weeks recovery
-
Whats the point - they are never ready to play the Saints system for weeks after they join.
