Glad I hadn’t binned my 9 nil bingo card! Redmond has been bloody crap

See we have Jonathan Moss on the whistle for this one, hope he's had a good pre season. Just looked and a whole heap of our whistle blowing favourites are hitting 50 this year - Moss, Mariner, Friend, Atkinson, Skate Boy Mason has to wait another year, and good ol Mike 'look at me' Dean is the Daddy of the Blind, illegitimate, literate, chaps that officiate the games at 52 - retirement age use to be officially 48 but EU employment law removed that, so long as you can meet the fitness requirements you can crack on until you break or the assessors say you are crap. Apparently from something I read Dean, Atkinson, and Oliver are on £200k a year, most of the rest on £70k with £1500 per game appearance money.

I was pretty certain that in moving JWP away, the ref does actually look down at the spot, if he sees it looks like a ploughed field he is going to say something. It’s not like anyone has seen any super slo-mo closeup, like you get in golf coverage, evidence that has actually shown his boots in JCB setting - obviously in loitering on and around the spot moving his foot about just over the grass he’s not only fooled the taker but gobshoite Keane too - JWP isn’t stupid by any stretch of the imagination he isn’t going to do something stupid to queer his chances of playing for England. Most of us have crept up behind a mate, stood behind them to the left and tapped them on the right shoulder and them turn to find no one there.........or is that sort of thing frowned on these days due to the potential psychological trauma it might inflict on the victim of the jape? Anyway JWP should have taken a shovel to the spot because once Rice gets his £80m move to Chelsea he ain’t going to get a look in.🤪

I have to say despite him being a bit of a cockwomble especially in the way he left us, I wouldn't be surprised that letter is true, as when we met him after a Saints pre season match a few years back, he came across as a very nice chap, happy to chat like old friends while quite a few of the other players we eager to get on the bus, despite only a handful of Saints fans being present. Paper looks a bit sparse to be genuine...........but then I guess when you can spend gazillions on a player, a few reams of different bespoke paper for every occasion is a bobbins expense.

Was that him thumbing for a lift outside Staplewood? Pilchards you buffoon! No wonder he was looking pissed off if you just ignored his international "give us a lift mush" signal...........I don't know ;-)

As long as he continues to being receptive of Ralphs advice, I can't see Ralph giving up on a stone he has polished so much already. Young Michael is only 20 and has Premier League experience and goals under his belt (absolute gem Boxing Day), if Danny and Che hit the new season ground running what better drive does Obafemi need to get a slice of that. Be a shame to see him go out on loan at the moment.

Did you not think that the nuts on the bar just didn't taste like they use to. ☺️

Should have gone out on the pull with Foden and Greenwood

Cricket wasn’t much better. At least our boys ain’t going to be knackered for Saturday.
-
I couldn't believe most papers gave him a 7 on Saturday - just like tonight (aside from his fluff in front of goal sat) he has looked invisible. Kane looks a right steaming pile too.

Mrs JBS just spotted that ours will be the first league game to be televised live at 3pm on a Saturday.
-
None of them! ........Because they are English!!😳 I’ll just get my coat
-
Not sure but the way has been paved to allow 3pm kick offs to be shown live https://talksport.com/football/751979/all-premier-league-matches-could-be-televised-blackout-lifted/

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m
John Boy Saint replied to The Odd Guy's topic in The Saints
Wow 1980!!!!! Jeez I feel old! -
There is no doubt we are in strange times - Tuesday before the 20/21 Season kicks off and unless my mince pies have developed a fault, no build up thread! I guess with nobody having an away ticket in their pockets for potentially the crappiest view in the Premier League it’s a bit surreal that footie is back on Saturday. So here we go - I’m guessing Ralph will be picking the team that finished the season v Sheffield United as long as JWP and Ings return from Denmark unscathed. Back to 3 subs and no tea break in the middle of the halves, unless we have an Indian summer and the mercury hits the required temperature.

Quite a cunning plan by the parent clubs - "just play one game if you must", "but do whatever you can to miss the midweek game" .

I put paste on first then wet brush, put it in my mouth and press button, both saving water initially and avoiding spraying toothpaste and water around by pressing the button prior to oral insertion.....................plus being a decent chap I don't feel I have done anything to encourage Mrs JBS to clean the toilet with my toothbrush - thus removing the need for a precautionary pre paste rinse. Hope that helps.............. back to the subject matter. I'm going to have to take a peek on Prime just to get upto speed on this thread

We didn't cough up our readies until the last week of August - with a deadline of 1st September I doubt we were alone on that.
-
Thanks for the update Steve............and especially your perseverance.

Thought there was a bit of shithousing going on when he hung about on the spot - almost “hey did you see the last penalty I took v Everton?” “ you better that and I will stand you and your family a slap up feast of that pickled Puffin you folk all like round here”. Thought JWP did alright seemed to be idling on tick over nice and easy, whilst those around him looked a bit leggy. Noted when Walker went to test the hot water first, Prowsey was over to Southgate to get the positional message to take back to the team. Southgate and JWP have a good relationship going back to when he was his captain for the under 21s/23s - Southgate commented not too long ago that some might accuse him of being JWPs Dad. Kane looked shot very early in the second half.

.............any news on Rudi Skacel?

Brief interlude 3 Keepers snapped for the TV moody pout pre-match line up doings. Right carry on lads.................bet the new sponsor ain't impressed he's covering up their expensive hoarding with his arms!

Aside from Crab Lungs already pulling you for Forster for McCarthy Salisu for Stephens - green horn Premier league newbie youngster who none of us have seen play v experienced premier league defender just coming into the prime age window for centre backs. Actually why not start the season with Vestergaard and Salisu for the first 5 games - most of the knockers on here will soon realise that the Jack and Jan combination is far better than they are given credit for.

Bit lightweight compared to most of the above Longy got pinged recently for 117mph in his Panamera - a car more than capable of stopping well within the distance on the back of the Highway Code for 70mph set by a Ford Anglia - Jammy bugger got off light, able to drive away from court. ............... that’s criminal in itself.
