  1. I'm sure the Islamic militants didn't bother to ask before killing them but that's not the point is it.
  2. Whether anyone agrees with this or not, it's not the troops who decided to go in to this. Islam, a religion of peace plus a few other things... http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/
  3. Just catching up on posts, but standard bank started the ball rolling when wanting their cut in August and the first traunch of Sky money went to them, hence the bargin basement buys at the end of August.
  4. Having studied at the poly as it was then for a year in portsmouth, only the one time did I wear the red and white and never again. Whereas in southampton, I have seen a few skate shirted folk who have not had any bother. I wish you well for 2010 and as a football fan it is sad to see a club run so badly which may mean extinction, but I have found this saga incredibly funny.
  5. 10pm update on guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/dec/31/portsmouth-pfa-players-wages-faraj PFA chief to meet Portsmouth hierachy over non-payment of players' wages • Cusack to meet officials on Monday, players on Tuesday • Finnan says 'no one seems to know what's going on'
  6. charlton back into it against brentford (1,1)
  7. I'll have to wait for May for one of them!
  8. They still believe that their loss at WBA sent us down... They may survive on the pitch, but financially they are in the crapper.
  9. I've just seen a car with only their windscreen clear (used the wipers) all other windows and lights are covered with snow, makes you think they want to have an accident!
  10. I cannot see the FA lifting their transfer embargo, especially with money owed to Watford and other clubs, therefore O'hara's loan cannot be extended and who would want to buy Utaka when there are better prospects at a donkey sanctuary. If they need to sell then it'll be from their better but smaller pool of players.
  11. Then it would be Citeh, Villa and Spuds how would be the new top dogs. The only way to make it more competitive is to share the wealth more evenly. Although Citeh would still get more to spend because of the owner's input it would be a closer league and the winners would be seen to be better footballing wise than just seen as buying the championship.
  12. Not so bad here in Cambridge, only a couple of inches but still enough to disrupt things. Not sure what the forecast is but would have thought the major routes to be clear by tomorrow if no more snow.
  13. This is a good site to see what clubs are in trouble or financial news: http://www.footballeconomy.com/ There is another good one about clubs close to admin but it looks like it's gone to the wall... http://www.clubsincrisis.com/index.asp
  14. So neither side can do without the other yet they will both lose out. It sounds like they need to get round the table and play the prisoner's dilemma. I doubt either side is in the right but striking will only do harm. ho hum.
  15. He failed to say how he has a controlling stake in this and the only winner is himself. Fair play I suppose, he saw a gap and exploited it. It says alot more about the music audience who are happy to be subjected to manufactured pop rather than going on a music journey to see what is out there and what they like (either through lyrics or musicality).
  16. Good news, like the Moo camp comment too! :-)
  17. I'm sure he would have slept with the devil if it meant he got his way. He certainly doesn't hold dear the christian beliefs he professes... as you can tell I despise the man.
  18. Jamie Rednapp, Ian Wright, Alan Shearer and Gareth Crooks are bottom of the pile for me. They add nothing incisive, either too dull or over-excited in their mind numbing analysis... http://www.midfielddynamo.com/fancythat/punditometer.htm
  19. surely your porn sites can give you a bit of a lift?
  20. Plus one. I would say, even at 10 you can never say that a career as a player is not to be. There are many years to grow and learn about the game. Attitude plays an important part and it sounds like your lad has got a positive one and is willing to persue things that will help him. Good luck to him.
  21. Some fans don't get it... lol http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A60655467 and it would be so funny to see O'hara go to a relegation rival... PMSL.
  22. I'm in Toronto, just visiting though flying back tonight. Great place, but bloody cold with the wind chill!
  23. We will soon see how tough the PL are if they lift the transfer embargo. I agree that the competition needs to be a level playing field for all teams and the PL will find itself in court if the skates get a helping hand, although perhaps it will be a case of if they receive help they are given a penalty as well.
  24. Most times nobody can tell if you're gone wrong while presenting so don't make a big deal of it if it happens, also they don't want to see you fail (if they do I wouldn't want to work for that company anyway!). and never say "hopefully" in a presentation!
