It's strange to take the view of cutting the air force because of the under use of £100m aircraft, but the trident replacement is protected for the same reason. It's time to move on from the empire days and get an appropriate level of armed forces but are equiped to the highest standard.

They have O'Brien the England U-19s keeper and another as trialist. Ashdown is recovering from an injury and will not be avialable until the last match on the US tour.

Lockerbie bomber could live for another 10 years

When it comes to Americans, it's a shoot when possible action rather than making 100% sure the target is what it was thought to be. -
I don't know why I'm doing this, but in the interest of fairplay and an end to this futile argument, the 7,500 figure quoted seemed to be made more in jest as he did say a few posts down 9-10k. No need to ask him to conceed, it's all there for everyone to see and STs will still be on sale for another few weeks so hopefully sales will reach the 15k mark.

I got an e-mail sometime ago regarding the latest news at Saints which contained information regarding season tickets.

Agree, but with nearly three weeks left to purchase a ST, if the 15,000 mark is achieved I would rate that as significant and it looks a distinct possibility.

Interviews - the other side of the table

I always try to get a balance between eligibility (experience, looking at the qualifications and references) and suitability (fit with team, aptitude and versatility) but if there is a standout candadite who is more suitable, then training can address eligibility and they are more likely to stay longer with the company. -
Agree, as I would with a big name signing that has the potential to cause a rift in the squad for being the special player, afterall it's a team sport so a player that can fit into the team and do well at championship level would do for me (eg Fonte).

something like 3 Yellows and 2 Reds in his short career iirc.

Any buyer would be able to negotiate debt repayment with the creditors - they could do it through the administrator or directly I think. I'm not sure how ML/NC did it in our case but that was easy peasy compared to the mess down the road.

If they want to play in the football league, it doesn't work like that. In both Leeds and Luton cases, the new owners had to stump up more or less the same as was stated in the failed CVA. Maybe AA better get the Conference guys on the phone, but considering how they deal with Clubs in debt (Chester, Weymouth, Salisbury) it will be out of the frying pan into the fire
-
That's if they don't wait for the court case. It would be great to see AA squirm in court meanwhile seeing the squad being depleted and the worst start to the Championship ever go with their Premier League one from last season.

Not only will we see the relegated sides compete in the top six that come down from the PL but with the such a wide margin between the champ and L1 the same will happen there. I think in a few years time, the Champ will be more predictable, just as the PL is. Good luck to Blackpool, I hope they make more use of the money than the skates and I hope we can make a speedy return before the gap becomes to great. Umm, just thought any relegated side that makes an instant return to the PL will no longer receive the parachute payments. I beleive they are spread out to the champ sides bar the newly relegated sides the following season. So perhaps the gap may not be so great?
-
They can make the figures suit whatever situation as the griffin CVA illustrates a different perspective. I also suspect the players on the £2-3k a week salary, like the first teamers have been over paid for what they really are worth.

Has AA got anything right in this process?

Only a true blue would come out with "I know it's no excuse but the Inland revenue did very well out of our flirt with fame, yer they might loose out a bit at the end but over the last 7 years they've had plenty of cash out of us due to our gross overspending on wages. If we had been run well they wouldn't have got anywhere near as much!" or "Whilst I understand the pro-HMRC comments, it has to be remembered that the taxman was happy to keep the bill going upwards and did precious little about it until they woke and realised what a mess PFC were in. This has been going on for years and years, and PFC have not been making the payments. They really should have managed their debt a lot more proactively and not drawn up such a big debt. After all the banks tend to take action once they realise that the condition is only going to go worse."

Under 21s (?) coach appointed - and Henderson leaves
Doctoroncall replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
The academy concept has been around for ~12 years. Things in football in this country do not change quickly over time, or certainly not progressive. You only need to look at the FA for that. There have been 3 or 4 initiatives since the PL were set up to help with the development of young players, only the academy concept has been used which has had a negative impact at grassroot level which the FA are responsible for, the others have either been ignored or dragged down in the politics of having so many interested parties - clubs, PL, FL and FA. -

What is being put in place at the club is NOT like what we had before. The academy has been completely restructured as has the reserve side, all under the development umbrella head by Les Reed. This is a continental approach where players will be coming through the various youth teams on a more regular basis to play in the first team. It's not to produce the odd player every so often. The bar is being raised to identify and produce players that go all the way to the first team, hence the focus of securing top coaches in the country. -

The reserve league is in a bit of chaos: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/7880181/Premier-League-to-reshape-reserves-league-structure-as-clubs-vote-with-their-feet.html -
Good luck, I hope she sorts it out and she is able to move to her new school ok. Something to remember is that electronic records are considered equivalant to paper records when access requires a password, unless it can be proved that can be bypassed. I thought in FB (I don't have an account) that you can set up groups so you can share certain information to those groups? Also, they get to hear it how she wants it to be told and be in control of the situation.

Typical, didn't do a proper job of killing him. Fatso out!

No, it would go to the npower league for distribution.

What got me is after the first 15 minutes anyone could tell what the Dutch were up to, Webb should have had a quiet word with the Dutch captain about the aggressive tackles and getting a player set-off would not do them any favours. The Dutch brought it on themselves and by the time De Jong did his Karate stamp on Alonso, they couldn't have complained if he was sent off but Webb bottled it.
