There is a lot of pressure to get a result on Saturday from all this, even more if the relegation rivals can leap above them. Are we seeing a Pompey meltdown?
-
you watch next season, how Pompey's cast offs turn in good performances for their new clubs. There are a few decent players there at the moment although most are out of contract this summer. Lol

he loves the club sooo much he's willing to leave it for the greater good (aka his career).

His family are good friends of the Lallana's too! -
LED floodlight?

ouch, that is bad. Unfortunately these days you cannot just hand the money over but need to investigate and make judgements on the information on an annual basis. Sometimes it is worth opting out.
-
Yep agree, we've got to be a bit smarter about it and start looking at players that are in a bit of a rut but have shown they have talent (Lovren) or as Turks has stated, scour the top divisions from the smaller European countries.

Always tried to put in as much as I can from the start. If you don't see it to begin with you will not miss it and adapt. You'll need to check the pension fund to make sure it's investing strategy is to your liking.

It does say in the article and that is a cause of some concern. What are his duties? Jamie thinks he's to replace NC.
-
There was only this one until Wigan blew it last season... No team who achieve greater than 50% possession have been relegated from the PL. Still not bad, only one team in 63!
-
Depends on a few things really - access to, I'd hope good coaches at the academy, decent pay at an early stage and a loan out to get experience. But I'd expect the attitude of many of the kids are focused on the money rather than what's best for a career as a player. McEachran is at Wigan at the moment, 21 this March and could have a decent career ahead of him.

FF will be in seventh heaven with Saints winning away and the Skates losing at home!

Thanks for the update.

Our 4 most expensive signings now unavailable

Form of the players should count if you are looking to get points. Lovren and Wanyama are the major concerns from that perspective. How long is Lovren out for? -
I think the deal is with a few good international players signed it would be the quickstart of raising the standard to one that could be sustained with more home grown products within the 'world class' learning and training environment over the coming seasons. One aspect of Cortese that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is the absolute control that he wanted which obviously KL was against. It's not clear how much money is avialable and is still in the pot to use for player purchase. But I'd hope there is a better evaluation of players and who to offer a deal to than we have recently as the team cannot afford to have players that don't perform or take too long to get up to a level that will be of benefit.

Top stuff again Rallyboy. Penny got a call last night from those boffins at Pelamis to help with their research into wave power.

They are all massive in this promotion season didn't you know. They were told play-offs were a minimum for such a massive club with massive support. #massiveportsmouth

Are you please to see me or is that a head up your butt?

What's David Dein upto these days?

Who would YOU want to own/run the club?

Agree with this. It's hard to see a better option. -
I don't know why you all are focused on the wrong end of the table! They are still only 12 points away from the play-offs easy to get with 21 games left, newish manager syndrome and fantastic contacts with the other clubs to have their pick of reserve and young players. You know it's going to happen, Wembley beckons again after a season of cup finals.
-
So what second string / youngsters from the premier league have they loaned so far these passed few seasons? I can only think of Potts.
-
But what is surprising is they are only 12 points from the play-offs, hope must still be lingering and there are some important games coming up against their promotion rivals next month, so let's see if these cup finals can be the start of a glorious return to league one!
-
They have had quite a few injuries to a small squad so not too bad to keep in touch of the play-offs at the half way point of the season
