I remember those sessions but today it is completely different!
There are a number of components to 'fitness' - strength, power, agility, flexibility, balance, local muscle endurance, cardiovascular endurance, strength endurance and balance (1). The first four are the main components of fitness but all nine contribute and will also vary to each sport. Cardio work will impact the other components.
