  1. IF we are taken over by next week and the new owners bring in Keegan or who ever they think will be good enough for the job they will get my full support. The sooner it happens the better chance we have of reaching the play offs. I dont dissagree with you on that at all. I just dont think we will be taken over by next week. I believe in all liklyhood we will still be hoping the takeover completes on the day of our 1st match in league 1. Which is obviously the best time to boot the guy that has prepared for next season with hardly any players and bring in someone else that has nothing but an empty shell to work with. I dont care who you bring in at that stage as they all will have a mamoth job keeping us in League 1 let alone getting us to the playoffs. So I say again, the longer this goes on the more I will understand if Wotte gets the nod for next season. As long as he see's us safe under the above circumstances I will be happy. The following season we should launch all out war on the league and get the right people in to manage and play. If all is going arse up then do it at Xmas. I dont want Wotte to stay because I think he is the right man for the job or because i think he is something special. I dont even want him to stay. I am just being realistic with what we may have on offer next season. When we see on the OS that we have new owners that are ready to buy our way back up the leagues then I will get all excited about beating the -10 points. Send me your crystal ball to show me when thats going to happen though please.
  2. Blimey your on one today aint ya. I said you "seem" to pin. Dont have a go at me because you dont read my posts right. I gave an opinion on things you said. I didnt insult you or make anything up or have a go at you. My 1st sentance joked how your post "Seemed" to me. Now settle down grandpa and drink your milk. I went on to say I dont think Wotte is long term but given our situation "I think" he is worth a period to see what he can do under different circumstances. I am not buying the club so I have no idea what will happen and what ever does happen I will support it. I dont want to right off this coming season but right now we are selling assets to pay wages, no season ticket sales even being spoken about, out of contract players waiting just incase we get taken over and some offers can be made, those same out of contract players looking to find a club so they can get a pre-season with that club as they cant wait for ever here, -10 points ready and waiting for us in a few weeks and a pretty grim time of it trying to adjust to league 1. So forgive me for thinking a bit of stability followed by a decent fresh start next season is not a bad idea. If the take over happens sooner rather than later and there is a rush of activity with manager and team and staff then fantastic. even with -10 the feel good factor and new ideas may be enough for a fantastic season. but the longer the uncertenty goes the harder it will be "IMO"
  3. Cool, I will recognise ya if I see you in Town now.
  4. yeah looks good. guess they need to be a bit fitter to do that then play Darts lol
  5. is that the scrambler type things that do the big jumps and the bumpy bits or road racing?
  6. I love the way you seem to pin all the problems on Wotte, like getting another manager will suddenly sort all the issues from the past 5 years or so. IMO the worst season was when we went down with Redcrap. Dropping out of the prem caused a chain reaction that ultimatly led to where we are now. I wouldnt say Wotte is the best for the job but I think he would do better under different cicumstances. Given that by the time we actually do get taken over he might be worth keeping for the coming season as any plans for a push up the league surly wont seriously get into full swing untill the season after. If a new manager is needed to get that done then that would be the perfect time to get the right man. More Lowe-esk type manager merry-go-round is not what our club needs IMO.
  7. What is it with the Love in with Pearson? The guy has been in management (proper manager not assistant and so on) for 5 mins really and only done well at league 1 level with mandergit throwing a bit of money at the team. Im not saying he is a bad manager and should he have stayed has been done to death but if the new owner see's the managers job as an important one I would have thought they would be looking a little higher than Pearson TBH Personaly I will stick with what I said weeks ago in that by the time the takeover actually happens changing the manager will do more harm than good. If the take over happened last week then get a new guy in for sure. He would be able to assess what he wants and create a plan to be ready for the start of the season. change a week before our 1st game and the new manager will have to move ahead on the back of all Wotte's plans which maybe a load of shiite and make the new guy look like pooh too. We will just continue with the same old policy of changing the manager more than we change the frigging kit. So if its last minute dot com takeover then stick with Wotte and support him for the coming season. If all is drastically wrong by Xmas then change but if not give the guy a season and see where we are. we then have a full off-season to put the new owners plan into action bringing in Jose mourinhio and kevin keegan or who ever they see fit.
  8. yeah ok I can see what your getting at. I mean from the local schools to the acadamy to the reserves right to the 1st team. Id like to see the Saints be a team that is all about Southampton. Doesnt matter how much money the owners or club might have. If they turn our club into something to be proud of once again it doesnt matter so much what league we are in. Besides, if more is done with the right age groups maybe we can prize even more tallent in and out of our already praised youth system and if we can find a way to turn more into 1st team players we might end up with a few players that really do love our club as its the one they supported right from the start.
  9. yeah I think thats what I was getting at. On paper we would be the 6th richest club due to the owners being that rich. By no means does that turn into 100 million pound transfer targets and so on. Im all for the club being run the right way and earning our status back. Knowing we are not looking over our shoulder at negitive bank ballences and loans will do wonders to the club IMO. And if we can build things up from the grass routes right through to the 1st team I will be a very happy saints fan.
  10. blimey there is a lot of hot air being blown on this thread! Who is this Lowe, Wilde and Crouch we speak of? Is it not Mr Fry that is currently in charge of our future? Have we not aggreed several times that over the past 5 years or so things have gone from bad to worse and there are no real good guys in all of it? We can all choose to believe who is more at blame but FFS does it really matter any more? Hopefully we have seen the back of those issues yet here we can do nothing other than take every thread into another petty squable about the priicks who used to run the club. And a member of my family says hello to the member of thegaffer's family but i dont even know what member of my family said it so take your pick on your member of your family that you say hello too. All this bringing in family members and stand up microphones and things is getting very confusing. so if your are all going to get personal do it in PM cause simple minded folke like me cant cope on a sunday morning with a hang over from hell Thank you please.
  11. Just read that report again and am I right in thinking that on paper we would be the 6th richest club in the leagues should this Swiss bid go through? Knowing Saints that cant be right? Or if it is I guess it wont mean much? We will probably be the richest club on the smallest budget and have to move forward on luck and prayers rather than any fantastic signings.
  12. He aggreed with me once which kind of worried me lol. I understand some of what he says but it doesnt matter if I agree or not. He is entitled to his opinion and most of the time even when most others dont like it, he puts his opinion accross without being offensive. Something we could all try and do once in a while. Reading back on this thread a little he seems to have slipped into petty digs at people which is probably what gets e veryone so wound up. Its just a message board though
  13. Isnt Gobern a left back though? I guess it will be pretty much a completly diferent team 2nd half though. Probably much younger and if they batter Eastleigh you can guess what Wotte will be thinking for the coming season. Old ones cant do the job but the Youth????? What a great idea...... we can play the kids!
  14. I just figured everyone was at the game lol
  15. had the ball in the back of the net already. wakey wakey saints. you could all be playing for a deal at a future club?
  16. But I am not going to the game so didnt feel the need to look at the thread
  17. theres a thread on whos going to the game but as I am not i havnt had a look at it. is that where we are discussing the game?
  18. They have kicked off with what looks like a team that would do pretty good in the CCC if we had them all available last year.
  19. He is to Rupert Lowe what Dalek is to Glenn Hoddle lol
  20. ah must be all BS then
  21. If Pinnacle have run out of funds to complete the deal that above seems very plausible for them to try and get some money back. If thats the case then the league will be dragged through the courts for quite a while and it will be very messy for them. They failed to nip things at the start so if further action is taken they only have themselves to blame.
  22. By the letter of the Law SFC IS a different and therefor seperate company to SLH. There is no way that can be argued. On that basis the legal teams and possible buyers think they have a case. We can all see plain as day that SLH is in admin because of SFC but when someone rights down rules that all should follow and leaves a gap where others can pass through then the rules need to be re-written. The league, instead of making special conditions that suit case by case just change what they say on a week by week basis as they dont want to let people in via the back door. Im not saying the league are wrong for punnishing us but I think they are very wrong in the way they are going about it. Fry didnt have to appeal and your right its not his job to appeal. But if he knew the 7 days was an issue he only had to mention it in one of the many meetings with perspective new owners and they could lodge there intention to appeal within the 7 days. At any time they could have removed that appeal if they dropped out of the running. But at least the appeal process would have been started. Now is it Fry's fault for knowing the 7 days rulling and not mentioning it? Fry's fault for not finding out about the 7 days? Leagues fault for not mentioning the 7 days and letting the administrators believe they had longer? Perspective buyers fault for not acting on information that Fry gave them within the 7 days? We will never know but from what has been said publicly I believe the league are the ones that have messed up and are making a right balls up of it ever since. They are probably made right up at Pinnacle not having a pot to P in because it deflects away from any errors. But they will surly only get the same questions when someone serious shows up?
