  1. Who's the bullshtter, Ponty or Nineteen Canteen???? Ponty's told us he was banned as Sundance, before being allowed to re-register under Nineteen. So Ponty, have you been lying or is the resident loon stringing us all along;)
  2. Behave yourself.
  3. Take out the 50th minute goal which is obviously normal play and then you then get: 85% of our goals conceded in the last 25% of the game. Now, even allowing for a very small sample, then it could well indicate that there is some sort of pattern (physical or mental fitness maybe??). Nickh's stats for the 2007/8 Premier League goals suggest something like: 27% of goals scored in the last 17% of the game So whilst it appears that more goals are disproportionately scored towards the end of games (fitness, injuries, pushing for a goal etc etc etc), our stats could suggest we are even more prone to conceding late on.
  4. Given the fact that we dominated the game with these two in the middle, then maybe my player ratingsd last night were a tad harsh. On reflection, perhaps they did the simple stuff well that allowed others to play their own game. That said, I don't see these two as a regular pairing in the middle of the park.
  5. Would have to agree with you in that Lambert looked a very good player (relative to this division of course). Big, mobile and fairly sharp. A friend described him to me as a James Beattie type of player and I think that's a pretty good description.
  6. I totally agree he's prone to mistakes (and I attributed one of them to them scoring), just think in these lower leagues you need some brawn and muscle. He's no gifted, accomplished and sophisticated player, but you have to remember we are potentially in a Division Three relegation battle and for all his shortcomings I would be up for him kicking some ar5e during matches. What's the new guy like????
  7. Bi-polar??????? Given the number of user names the Mods have let him use on here, he's more like Octo-Polar:D:D PS Ponty and co don't reckon he's a troll, so you're not allowed to say that, but I think it is safe to say he's a loon;)
  8. They was just the sales patter, trying to get us to buy him!!!!! Or was it his agent who has obviously worked his magic by getting him contracts at a number of clubs (then again if you're dad id the manager, then I doubt you need an agent;)). From what people are saying it would appear that Pulis was being lined up when Burley left, which is surprising as Pulis was a Premiership manager at the time.
  9. As strange as it may seem, I haven't really got a problem with Thomas playing in this division as I think you need a bit of unsophisticated brawn and muscle at the back. Haven't seen the new guy, so if he's not of a similar mold, then I am OK with Thomas getting a game.
  10. You must have had it tuned to the wrong game then. Seriously what were you listening to as the old man called me walking home from the game saying it sounded as though we played really well and were unlucky. With all due respect given the overwhelming number of positive responses with regards the performance from those who saw it first hand, then I have to question your interpretation of someone elses view of the game.
  11. I wouldn't want James there and being honest I wouldn't want Perry or Thomas there either. Given I can't think of anyone else in the squad who I would put there, it means we might have to go out and get someone in. A steady, fairly experienced and solid full back, nothing to set the worl alight, just someone who's played at this level (or above) and is a regular full back.
  12. I'm ever so sorry that my rough scores on the doors at gone half eleven didn't meet up to your exacting standards. Next time I will ensure I give full justification for the scores along with a prozone analysis for each player, as well as their marks out of ten. But just for the record and to keep you happy, the scoring system I used was the one I grew up with and used to always see in the News Of The World, and it went someting like this: 4 - Stinker 5 - Below Average 6 - Average 7 - Above average 8 - Good 9 - Excellent 10 - Out of this world (The News of The World didn't do 3's )
  13. The injury to Murty was the only real downer for me, as we definitely lost our shape when he went off. To me, that was more worrying than losing tonight.

    Murty

That's how I saw it. Looked as though Murty went into Carr attempting to block his shot, but as you say Lallana was checked moments before which should have been a free kick to us.
  15. LMFAO. I suppose I should be flatterred by the continual namechecks from the loon;)
  16. What's all the fuss been about???? A really good performance with a number of very good individual performances. There is no way a neutral would have thought we were two divisions apart. Dominated large periods of the game and much to praise tonight. Scores on the doors: KD - 8 - some good saves Murty - 8 - Solid and dependable Perry - 7 - Faded towards the end, but still a good performance Thomas - 7 - Nothing sophisticated, but put himself about. Sold Gillet short somewhat for one of their goals (I think) Harding - 8 - Liked the look of him Melias - 7 - A bit lightweight, but showed some skill Wotton - 6 - Didn't relly see him much James - 6 - As Wotton Lallana - 9 - For someone who I thought had underperformed last season (and others had the same this season) I thought he was magnificent. Some sublime touches and a great finish Saga - 8 - Good movement and skill Lambert - 8 - Liked what I saw of him tonight Subs: Gillett - 6 - Game seemed to pass him by Paterson - 6 - Not sure he did much Scheiderlin - 6 - Didn't make an impact Very good atmosphere and good support which I thought was a direct result of the effort given by the players. If we play like that, then we will be OK.
  17. I'll just say partner next time which I'm sure will get some on here hot under the collar:D PS She did it first, I just followed after her, and didn't recognise any of the players (then again I'm not sure I'll recognise many from the Saints team tonight!!!!).
  18. After Le Tissier dragged the Club through the mud and soured his reputation:rolleyes: and standing amongst Saints fans, they have issued a new one that is slightly tarnished;). It has some dirt and muck down one side, looks rather ordinary, is cheap, and will only stay in one place. Apparently only one has been custom made to order. Only problem is the person who placed the order has left 8 different names on the order, maybe the mods could help them out.
  19. I've either put them off or really got them riled, as just after 12 the Team Coach drove by Queen's Park and my girlfriend and I gave them the secret V's.:smt109
  20. There was a piece in an interview with The Times where he mentions he had conversations with friends in the other potential consortiums: "I was trusting that everything I was being told was absolutely kosher, and most of it was,” he said. “Then all of a sudden the funding, which was from Switzerland, fell through. At the end I could see that this was damaging the club and I said, ‘This is enough, let’s get out and let someone else come in.’ “We knew that Markus Liebherr [now the owner] was around, and there was another group based in Monte Carlo. I knew people in all three groups, so I was getting info from three directions, and they were all mates of mine so it was really difficult. “But it’s all worked out for the best in the end, I think. Markus Liebherr is obviously a very wealthy man. The club is stabilised from a financial point of view and that’s what’s most important, as long as they stay up this season.”
  21. Quality quote by Matty on how he might not have been able to cope with the current emphasis on fitness etc, something like: "Prozone would have killed my game, showing up the miles I didn't run"
  22. I posted something similar on another thread and what was really warming was the many, many great comments and appreciative sentiments from fans up and down the country. A great ambassador for the Club and is obviously held in high regard by the football fraternity. As some bloke from "Oooop North" said, "I doubt we'll see his like again".
  23. Ponty has already confirmed he was previously registered as Sundance Beast and after being banned was allowed to reregister as Nineteen Canteen earlier this year under a supposed amnesty!!! And when he was Sundance Beast he admitted he used to post under different user names as well, saying: "You also miss the point that I was banned as The Fourth Bear also was found out to be Flashmanatthecharge ............ I am amazed having admitted to being a previous banned user I have not been banned." HTH
  24. Wonderful interview with MLT with some heart warming comments & contributions from fans up and down the country who obviously appreciated his contribution to the game. Simon Mayo was particularly gushing and as usual Matty comes acoss as a real gentlemen and a great ambassador for our Club.
