This is a poor league overall, and wide open this season, but its beyond Will Still.

Of who is available without compo and might fancy it, I’d also go for Carsley, even if he was responsible for Harwood-Bellis’s full England cap 😉. Played at high level, thought out as a coach and has a tough side if that’s needed (which it is here currently). Watch them appoint Leonardis Carsleotti when they sack Still on January 31st.

All the managers appointed and sacked by Sport Republic seemed to have been picked up by other clubs relatively quickly, so despite their gross negligence the pay off figures shouldn't prevent affirmative action in terms of Will Still's P45. So a case of how quickly the detached owner wants to act - I simply cannot see Still turning this around, if anything it's going to get worse, leaving us needing a miracle for top six. It would be nice if the powers that be are told to ditch the blue sky thinking bollocks for the next appointment on pain of their own jobs on the Board. Like a lot of others I think there are a number of candidates who would be able to get a decent and rapid tune out of this group, and even failing that provide some home truths and send a few rockets northwards. For that reason I hope it's an ex-player with some genuine pedigree who can bring or attract coaches with similar attributes. Saints always seem to do well with that type of appointment, and they won't buy the cuddle, cuddle, give it time, or scar tissue bullshit with this underachieving group.

Agree. First game of the season I thought he was wearing a Teflon jumpsuit which also impacted mobility and brain function, it was like witnessing an allergy to round spherical objects. I fear with Damion it may be a chronic condition.

In the summer I was dead against Still's appointment when it was first mooted, then having looked at his record at Lens, and watched some of the 'fly on the wall documentaries' managed to talk myself into it in terms of giving Spors the benefit of the doubt. Still seemed a likeable bloke who players would want to play for. I knew that we'd been in talks with Rohl throughout the second half of last season so assumed Still was second choice after Rohl had overestimated his options. I have watched all bar two of Still's games as our manager and the thing that worries me most is that there is lethargy throughout the side and no apparent desire / clue of how to craft chances or grind out results. The blanket substitutions are also a red flag. Martin's side in this league seemed to have another gear to use as a get out of jail free card against limited opposition, which would work four times out of five - we don't even have that now. Saints are big fish in this league on the back of a £56m spend, I think we need to be more ambitious than 'let's see how it turns out and hope for the best'. You'd assume Solak feels exactly the same regardless of what is said in public. If it's not been done already Still should be given a finite number of games and if there isn't a dramatic upturn, replaced, hopefully with a known quantity for this league.

And Solak should be banging heads together on this.

There’s always fifth time lucky for Clownforce. Chimpanzees typewriters and all that. Personally i think dragan should sack the lot, including Spors & Co. and have a fans poll of ST holders in terms of replacements.

I dont think Will Still can improve on this, so looking like a dead duck. Wonder if the brains trust in the Boardroom can see it.
