  1. As it's getting close now - penalty takers? Wotton, Hammond, Lambert, Saga & Papa?
  2. I bet Saga can't believe his luck! 16 months ago he was trying to lead Poland to European Championship glory. Now he's trying to get a goal in the JPT. I wonder if he's struggling motivationally...
  3. Indeed. A most pleasant sight for those of us not able to attend tonight.
  4. A settled side is good but we also need to give some game time to Holmes, so would like to see him start. Also need to keep an eye out, in the stands, to see if we're being watched by our potential new striker!!
  5. I don't know if that applies to goals; there used to be a 'dubious goals committee' - not sure if that still exists and/or was just for the Prem. I'm sure they robbed Egil of his hat-trick goal vs Man Utd, claiming it was a Gary Neville o.g.
  6. Has this now officially been awarded to Lambert? Pardew made mention of it being Lambert's goal vs Rovers and the Echo says, in the article below, that Papa got his first for the club on Saturday: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4663765.Pardew__We_showed_quality/
  7. This is excellent information. And significantly more information than we had on Ali Dia before we signed him!
  8. Any further news WS? Has Pardew made the call?
  9. Yes, I was there against Yeovil and whilst we had more possession, it took 2 penalties to beat them plus they worked our keeper more IMO. Not there against Carlisle, but a close mate was and his view was that, apart from Mellis' chance, there wasn't a lot of threat again despite the possession.
  10. Frank Drebin Alan Pardew My immediate thought after the game. Currently talking a very good game; shame his team aren't playing any good ones. Lucky to beat Yeovil, lucky to nick a point against Carlisle and got what we deserved tonight. Don't get me wrong, I really want Pardew to succeed but the doubts are ever growing in mind...
  11. Lambert pass, Lallana goal. YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Hopefully there's a partnership starting to form up front between these two.
  12. Odd one I agree. Especially with Mills and Holmes on the bench. Maybe it was meant to be Mills but whoever wrote the team down is dyslexic?
  13. To be honest, I was the same when I first took my boy. I made sure I got there right before kick-off, to maximise his interest time, and he surprised me by lasting until about the 75th minute before losing interest a little, especially as the atmosphere was sinking a little as it became apparent we were going down (luckily I had a Fireman Sam magazine to get him through to full time!). As it was the last game of the season (Burnley last year), he then (at nearly 3) achieved what it took me 30 years to do and got on the hallowed turf, which he thought was great (although he didn't quite understand why we didn't have a ball to kick!).
  14. I took my 3 year old to his 2nd game on Saturday against Yeovil. He loves the 2 games he's been to and is always saying "Daddy, are we going to Saints today?" when he gets up. I took a couple of video clips of him clapping the player names at the beginning and celebrating Lambert's 2nd goal which, to our family, are just priceless!
  15. My mate who supports Brighton said we'd signed an excellent player, when we signed him. If he keeps putting in the sort of performances he did on Saturday, I'll have to agree!
  16. Agreed happened right in front of me and it did hit his arm. I also shouted handball, although when the ref blew, I was about to curse him as I thought the lino had given offside *****il he put his flag across his chest).
  17. Davis Thomas Jaidi Trotman Harding Lallana Hammond James Holmes Waigo Lambert Subs: Bart, Perry, Mills, Schneiderlin, Mellis, Saga, Paterson
  18. Sounded desperately poor - especially against 10 men. Need width yet we leave out a fit again Holmes? Getting a little concerned whether Pardew is able to shape a winning team - 12 games without a win at Charlton (I think?) and now 6 more here. Not panicking but concern levels rising given our points handicap start...
  19. Hmmm, another 7am call to login to the OS... I wonder if it'll be a surprise signing or the big Tunisian defender we're all expecting!!
  20. I hope you're right but I've a feeling it'll be Jaidi. IMO, we've registered him as a Saint in time but we're awaiting completion of a formality (i.e. work permit, leave to remain, international clearance) before confirming it. As for the twitter teaser - let us not forget the feed they sent out encouraging us to login at 7am one morning to find out our latest signing only to discover it was Graeme Murty, who'd been on trial with us anyway...
  21. Right - handing the computer over to the wife now. Cue mega million pound signings... (please?!)
  22. So the Jaidi signing - it's now a when not an if? (Clings to hope of any signing desperately...)
  23. If we have done a deal, it will have been done at 4.59 and 59 secs, in typical Saints near to the knuckle style!
  24. So is this something you know (and are perhaps willing to share a name) or just positivity far beyond that of the average Saints fan?!
