  1. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/16305784.Saints_in_Tadic_exit_talks/ Reading this in the Echo pretty much confirms he's off. I guess this is about listening to the player wanting to go back to Holland to win things (I guess he's pretty much guaranteed some silverware going to Ajax) and us trying to wring as much money out of a sale before he turns 30. Shame to see him go - his passion and upturn in form at the end of last season was a key reason we stayed up. Hughes talking him up would've made me think he would be a key player next season and I just hope we're actively trying to bring a replacement who's ready to go rather than someone with potential.
  2. The vote for this closes tomorrow so this is a shameless attempt to see if I can rustle up a couple more votes! As far as I know, I'm the only forum member who has made it known they're putting themselves forward and I'd be happy to feed back what this actually turns out to be, on this forum. I absolutely agree, it could turn out to be about cup placement in the shop orwhether or not the speakers are too loud but I guess, for me, unless I try to join in, I'll never know. What I hope is that there will be at least some opportunity feedback disenchantment, when it's clear much of the fanbase is is peed off or questioning the direction in which the club is going, or offer praise, if things are going well.
  3. Is this Les' fault or does he want to stay closer to his family?
  4. Play him with our Dutch Xavi and we could have start of something great?
  5. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/michail-antonio-set-leave-west-12722563.amp West Ham ready to listen to offers for Michail Antonio & Palace interested. Guess, at 29, he doesn't fit our brief any longer.
  6. Good. We've been lacking a goalscoring midfield Maddison since the early 90s...
  7. He comes already injured? Sounds right up our alley... (Delgado, Boufal & probably others...)
  8. Would happily ask the club how this daft situation happened if voted onto the Saints Voice panel... #ShamelessVoteCanvassingOpportunity
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-44354369 Interesting story on the Beeb website about Mouez Hassen, our former loan goalkeeper under Puel, who is in the Tunisian World Cup squad. I was going to post this in tbe defectors thread but then I figured a loanee who returns to his parent side is more an escapee...
  10. One of those we announced as released yesterday, Will Wood, has joined Accrington Stanley. Good luck to him!
  11. Quincy Promes - 1st June. All set up already, innit.
  12. Thanks muchly!
  13. Good, some more material I can steal. I'll go with "keep mugs on the shelf & away from the bench", if selected.
  14. Noted. Keep the ideas coming so I can pass the good ones off as my own, if I get picked.
  15. The brief we were sent by the club asked us to specify the particular groups of fans we thought we could represent (and gave some examples). If only I'd been savvy enough to say everyone...
  16. I wonder if there will be a change of emphasis. Hughes always strikes me as someone who is more interested in established players rather than those needing a lot of development. Maybe an experienced forward, like Dzeko, would do us the world of good although I'm not sure we could tempt him.
  17. Answers below. Cheers Paxo - shoulda got some leaflets printed really before hitting the campaign trail.
  18. Much obliged... And thanks to Hypo too!
  19. Maybe not but I'd like to offer what I think, I know a reasonable number of other Saints fans and will happily pass on their thoughts (within reason!) and I'd like to see what the deal really is with this. I'm not really one for nodding nicely and, if selected, if this transpired to be an empty gesture which was to tick a box that says "listens to fans", I doubt I'd stick with it. Would happily post highlights (lowlights??) on here as I think there should be some semblance of openness about the discussions (if they are truly discussions)!
  20. Yup, that's me. Happy with any vote, to be honest... ;-)
  21. I can't speak for others on here who may have put themselves forward and not yet made themselves known but I am a regular forum user who has done so! My reason, beyond the banal blurb you put forward which, although honest to a degree, has to be tailored so the club will allow you to be a candidate (let's be honest, even though it might be a vote winner, they won't let you stand for 'fans who think Les is a c*ck' & they even removed my 'long suffering fans' group) is because I'd like to know more about what this is about. It's true, it could end up being about pasties & what type of pen you get as a Junior Saint but if I don't try to find out for myself, I guess I'll never truly know. Obviously, it's not about helping choose the next big signing or influencing team selection (which is a shame given the past 2 seasons but I have faith in Sparky) but the nosey sod in me would like to what they do want from us.
  22. Do you think it would be helpful if I added "slobbering mongboarder" to my bio Crabby?
  23. Well, I would be Dell-ighted if anyone fancied voting for me (& my naff Saints-punnery)! I've put myself forward as I'm genuinely intrigued as to what this will really be about & how much the club will actually listen to feedback from the group & even action things. I'm Mark C. from the list, by the way.
  24. Priceless. Utterly priceless. And that it was Bale who delivered the hammer blow was merely the icing on the cake.
