  1. In amongst all the news of new kits, signings & departures, the really big news seems to be missing from the OS & that's confirmation of the Saints Voice vote!! Happily, I can reveal I have been voted onto the panel - thank you to those who voted for me. Looking forward to finding out what it's really all about in due course...
  2. I'm assuming he's passed his medical & it's just a matter of time before it's announced?
  3. Google translate does have some classic moments at times like this. The article is basically an interview with Claus who gives his thoughts on whether Moi has what it takes to succeed in England & this stood out for me: "But he has some skills that make him succeed. I'm sure. Supporters will probably take him to the heart because he is very hardworking and immortal." I wonder if part of our new strategy to get value for money is to sign players who will live forever?
  4. Have we been gazumped yet (it's the new "has he signed yet")? Seems like a very positive signing if all goes to plan & will hopefully Dusan's boots admirably.
  5. Chelsea fans used to sing Tore-Andre Flo's surname to the 2 Unlimited "hit" no limits. We could adapt that chant for Mo, should he sign. And, given he's also Norwegian, I bet he'd be well chuffed.
  6. If Reed is a better wing back than midfielder, maybe he could take Pied's spot as Cedric's occasional backup?
  7. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-fans-should-salute-stuart-12774967.amp?__twitter_impression=true Interesting line in this article in the Daily Record: "Armstrong has sealed a £7 million switch to Southampton after the clubs struck a deal this week." Sounds like it's already complete?
  8. Good luck to him if he signs up. £5m-£7m now feels like the old £500k-£750k signing - low risk but if it comes off, it's a bargain. Like others, I see him as more challenging Davis than replacing Tadic. That is another job altogether!!
  9. Boom! We miss out on bringing in a new goalscoring Maddison but bring in a new goalscoring Armstrong instead? Any new Keegans, Channons or Le Tissiers out there???
  10. Cheers chaps!
  11. Maybe the plan is to bring in new players after the tour to China, to save on the cost of extra flights and hotel rooms?
  12. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/16305784.Saints_in_Tadic_exit_talks/ Reading this in the Echo pretty much confirms he's off. I guess this is about listening to the player wanting to go back to Holland to win things (I guess he's pretty much guaranteed some silverware going to Ajax) and us trying to wring as much money out of a sale before he turns 30. Shame to see him go - his passion and upturn in form at the end of last season was a key reason we stayed up. Hughes talking him up would've made me think he would be a key player next season and I just hope we're actively trying to bring a replacement who's ready to go rather than someone with potential.
  13. The vote for this closes tomorrow so this is a shameless attempt to see if I can rustle up a couple more votes! As far as I know, I'm the only forum member who has made it known they're putting themselves forward and I'd be happy to feed back what this actually turns out to be, on this forum. I absolutely agree, it could turn out to be about cup placement in the shop orwhether or not the speakers are too loud but I guess, for me, unless I try to join in, I'll never know. What I hope is that there will be at least some opportunity feedback disenchantment, when it's clear much of the fanbase is is peed off or questioning the direction in which the club is going, or offer praise, if things are going well.
  14. Is this Les' fault or does he want to stay closer to his family?
  15. Play him with our Dutch Xavi and we could have start of something great?
  16. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/michail-antonio-set-leave-west-12722563.amp West Ham ready to listen to offers for Michail Antonio & Palace interested. Guess, at 29, he doesn't fit our brief any longer.
  17. Good. We've been lacking a goalscoring midfield Maddison since the early 90s...
  18. He comes already injured? Sounds right up our alley... (Delgado, Boufal & probably others...)
  19. Would happily ask the club how this daft situation happened if voted onto the Saints Voice panel... #ShamelessVoteCanvassingOpportunity
  20. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-44354369 Interesting story on the Beeb website about Mouez Hassen, our former loan goalkeeper under Puel, who is in the Tunisian World Cup squad. I was going to post this in tbe defectors thread but then I figured a loanee who returns to his parent side is more an escapee...
  21. One of those we announced as released yesterday, Will Wood, has joined Accrington Stanley. Good luck to him!
  22. Quincy Promes - 1st June. All set up already, innit.
