Welcome Guido. Really hope your Saints career is a successful one. Word of warning: we're expecting you to be the Argentinian Harry Kane, just not as thick.

Spartak are after Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic. Could this be the catalyst for Promes to then head elsewhere? Maybe even us? You can imagine the hilarious Scouse banter now, if signing Markovic allows Promes to come to SMS...
Exactly. Rather than parading new signings around the pitch on deadline day, when they can have no influence on the game against Brighton, how about getting them in a bit earlier, so they can help do something about our poor performance??
I reckon it was Les and Ralph testing the water to see if the fanbase were still excited about potential new signings. If there was no excitement or interest, they could happily park transfers for January and concentrate on securing our small club status.
I've been lucky enough to be passed a snippet of Les' press release ahead of the 3pm announcement:
"Mauricio has decided he's taken us as far as he can and has stepped down. As Marco Silva happened to be walking by St Mary's at the time, we've offered him the role of manager, which he's accepted. Here are the 3 new signings we'd held back so Mauricio couldn't train their abilities out of them."
Let's hope we continue with the positive bits of play from the 1st half, in the 2nd half, and Mauricio doesn't give his usual half time managerial masterclass.
Did our managerial maestro have anything to say about any incomings at his press conference earlier? Especially given we appear to have wasted a week before a vital winnable match to bring someone in.
