  1. Even if the Ings deal eventually costs us £20m, it looks like a far better deal than the Solanke one. Time will tell, though.
  2. Finally, the return of Jonathan Forte is imminent!
  3. Thought Gunn would get a game against Derby in the Cup but his performance against Chelsea tonight might have taken the shirt from McCarthy for a while.
  4. First song they played after "THE WIN" yesterday was the old Jay Rodriguez 'just can't get enough' song. Fits Hasenhuttl nicely we thought???
  5. Adam Blackmore has just tweeted that Ings, Long and Cedric have all returned to full training and could be back in the squad for Sunday.
  6. I believe the plan would be for a move into one of the corners but this is an exploratory move by the club, in the first instance, and subject to necessary approvals from the police and Safety Advisory Group. My remit is to feed back thoughts from whatever sources are available to me.
  7. A question we've been posed as a Saints Voice panel. We've been asked to get feedback from the fanbase on a POTENTIAL move of the away fans from their current area of the Northam to "somewhere else" in the stadium. What do you think of a proposal to move away fans from the Northam? I must stress this is only an exploration at the moment but Southampton FC want to know your thoughts and opinions? Any thoughts you'd like me to share on behalf of the forum?
  8. If he delivers on his promise of aggressive pressing & attacking football, I think the fan base will naturally get behind the team.
  9. "Did you see Charlie's face when he said close him down..."
  10. I'm sure I read somewhere that Ralph was all for removing Pellegrino earlier but it was Les who wanted to keep him to see if he could turn it round. Whilst I'm, clearly, not all for recruiting managers on an annual basis, at least Ralph has recognised sticking with Hughes for a similar length of time was likely to leave us in a certain relegation battle and bringing in someone who takes us back to our Pochettino and Koeman-style philosophy early enough, gives us the chance to recover this season a little. Fair play for that and welcome Ralph H. - best of luck. You won't please all of us all of the time but if you can at least get us winning at home, you'll get most of us onside!
  11. I hope he comes in and works out that most of our deep roster is a waste of space...
  12. "Right, Charlie, I want you to chase that guy with the ball" "But, boss, he's just going to pass it back to him" "Well, then I want you to chase after him, too" "But he'll just give it back to the first guy" "And then you chase after him again" "But boss, I'll be fooked & out for the season after that" "Every cloud, Charlie, every cloud..."
  13. Cunning by Krueger. When we're all screaming "Ralph out!" & "Ralph's a w4nker!", he can just fire Hassenhuttl...
  14. Although the Echo say we hope to have the new man (Flores?) in before Cardiff.
  15. This. Totally.
  16. Happy memories, for us, shared by the Beeb! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/46393009 I'll go 3-1 Saints again...
  17. We are Southampton, we can't win at home!
  18. At least under Branfoot we had Matt and, for a season, Shearer. There was also the comedy value of the violence we had in Ruddock, Hurlock, Horne, Dowie, Adams & co.
  19. Might as well be honest. It's what the rest of us can see.
  20. I used to love football at the weekend. The excitement, goals and entertainment. I knew we wouldn't win every week but that didn't matter - it was all about following my team and hoping to cheer us on to a victory, no matter who we faced. This current shower has had me genuinely dreading matches for the past 2 years. Heartless, soulless, passionless (and dare I say talentless) drivel week after week. The feeling right through the club epitomised in pathetic on-field performances. We could go 4-0 up and I wouldn't expect us to hang on. I genuinely believe I feel lower about us now than the days of Branfoot or nearly going bust as Wilde, Crouch and Lowe jockeyed for position. Shameful.
  21. Won't happen. He's Portuguese and we're not called Wolves.
  22. Martin Caceres looking good again for Uruguay against Brazil at the Emirates. Shame he was never really given a go.
  23. The Echo suggest we're one of the ones not keen to make the payment. If so, well done us!
  24. With no Les, I guess Ralph will be holding the fort for the timebeing until Webber, or someone else, is appointed. In the meantime, check out the lady in the red coat in this photo from the Echo today - isn't this the look we all have when Ralph has spoken???
