  1. Looking at the positives, that Chelsea team doesnt look great.
  2. If Salisu picked up a late knock then I'll give Selles the benefit of the doubt for selecting Bednarek. Dont know whats going on with DCC. But AMN? An abysmal player
  3. Bednarek and Maitland Niles. Fuck sake. Jones would get getting pelters, but its ok because Selles dresses like Pep. I guess the issue with the two Croats isnt exclusive to Jones either
  4. I'll judge Selles on the starting lineup, the performance and to a certain extent the result - not much is expected, but in the same sense you dont want to get smashed. Couldnt care less about his press conferences and how he comes across, as long as he doesnt have a meltdown and try to blame the fans. We need performances and results, not a nice guy
  5. All we ask as fans, is to give us a team that we can all rally behind. A team that plays with an intensity, has fighting spirit, is committed, is organised and is dynamic in how we attack in games. For pretty much the past year, we've had a team devoid of all of the above things and its been desperate to watch and difficult to support. I'm not expecting Selles to completely change our fortunes between now and the end of season (which he'll likely be given until), I'm expecting the occasional mistake as our squad is average and I still expect us to be relegated. But if Selles can get the team delivering on the above principles then the fans will give him/the team all the support we can muster and who knows where that could take. "Ruben Selles Red and White Army"
  6. Chelsea are due to give somebody a hiding. First goals for Mudryk, Madueke etc. We'll happily oblige and give Potter some respite 4-0 defeat and we'll be sitting on Saturday evening wondering how we got to the point where Ruben Selles is our manager 🤦
  7. Guess I'm a little deluded then because this definitely doesnt happen at some other clubs
  8. Well Man City havent got to where they are by following the rules
  9. We spent more on Lyanco....😂
  10. And Ralph wouldnt come either so its 100% a non runner
  11. Everybody does it https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/tapping-up-premier-league-transfer-news-1594907
  12. Football insider I think this has come from, so likely a load of shit. But if we are entertaining player opinions (especially this shower of shite squad) on mangerial appointments, then we may as well pack it in as a football club
  13. We dont need somebody who is 'liked' by this squad of failures. We need somebody who can get a long overdue turn out of them. Time will tell if Selles is capable of that. Outside of Marsch, there doesnt look to be many decent replacements who are willing to come in at this stage. I would rather have Selles than bringing in the likes of Allardyce etc. The likes of Lampard, Gerrard etc would want a longer term contract and I dont think we should commit to that for managers who ordinarily wouldnt be our preferred long term option. They could be no better and we're stuck with them into next season or forced into another big pay out. If we get relegated (as expected), there will be better long term managerial options in the summer and as mad as it sounds, we'll probably be a more attractive option than our current position.

  15. I thought Marsch was happy to come, even with the shorter contract. Apparently not
  16. It's how SWF operates
  17. They were hurtling towards relegation under Bielsa. You may claim that he maintained the status quo, but his task/mission first and foremost would have been to keep them up, which he succeeded at, whether that be 10th, 14th or 17th as was the case. Yes he has 'failed' to build on that this season, but there have been plenty of positives during his tenure. He wasn't my number 1 pick either in these circumstances, but he could be a good fit given his style of play and what most of our squad will be used to. It will be an easier transition than what he would have faced at Leeds, following on from Bielsa's regimented style.
  18. Its not the Hasenhuttl style, he didnt invent it. Marsch's teams are similar but will have their own nuances. We didnt keep Ralph because results had badly tailed off during the last year of his tenure. He had reportedly lost part of the dressing room and wasnt even talking to some of the squad/coaches. He also looked a broken man as 4 years of managing in the PL had taken its toll. We tried to freshen things up by bringing in a new coaching setup to support Ralph (when we should have brought in a new manager) and this had little to no effect.
  19. Rasmus said much the same at the fans forum
  20. Did you go to the same school of metrics as Rasmus? What metrics would you be referring to exactly? Kept a very average, injury stricken Leeds team up last season, and had them sitting above the relegation zone when he was sacked. What would non-failure look like as Leeds manager?
  21. Hoedt vs Tella on Sky Sports
  22. Where have I seen that before? 🤔😂 Great post and welcome
  23. Exactly this. He didnt 'fail' at Leeds. Given the setbacks you've highlighted, he did an excellent job keeping them up last season. He also had them sitting outside the relegation zone by the time he was sacked two weeks ago. Yes Leeds fans would have expected them to be rivalling Brighton, Fulham or Brentford's form this season, but they could do with tempering their expectations
  24. Will wait and see what the contract is, but it appears we're not tying ourselves down long term. Could make a change sooner rather than later if things dont pan out. On things turning sour again, I think there is a growing realisation amongst fans that we're 95% relegated. Going down will not be Marsch's doing and I think fans will be alot more patient with him, as long as the football looks good
  25. I'll give him until 2pm saturday when I see Janny B and Lyanco in the starting lineup 😂😂
