Is anyone going to admit that basing our player recruitment on XfuckingG hasn't worked quite the way the spreadsheet said it would?

And yet, on the Selles thread you are baying for his head because he's not able to win matches. You're all over the place and need to make your mind up whether it's the three successive managers that are the problem, or the spineless players from whom "you still struggle to think of a a starting eleven that could win a Premier League match."

If it ain't on borriersaint's twitter feed, it doesn't exist.

We'll haggle. We'll lose the haggle battle. He will have to stay.

The good news though is that there is nothing stopping borriersaint fucking off back to Northern Ireland now so he can stop moaning about England.

Plus it's live on 'free' TV so is accessible to everyone.

How can something / someone be 'developed a bit', yet still be no different to what it / they were previously? That makes no sense at all. Either he's developed and got better (I believe he has), or he hasn't.

It's an 'ironic' moniker now, nothing to be embarrased about.

Does it still take into account the subjective consideration of the tagger?

The statistics don't lie...or do they?
Weston Super Saint replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Of course it is. If we'd scored one more in one of those games ('any' from the original post), then we would have gained ONE more point. To gain TEN points we would have had to score in ALL TEN games. That's pretty simple maths, so not sure why you're arguing against it. -
Which is hugely frustrating as it means the same team will be playing again this weekend. We've tried not changing a winning team (one measly win!), so I guess we should also try not changing a losing team
-
That's a fair point and Championship may be his level, but a lot of people claiming a year in the Championship will turn him into a PL level 'keeper. I guess it's only a matter of time and we'll see if he can cut it in the next league down.

This bit is horseshit. The only way we would get '10 very valuable points' is if we scored 'just one goal' in ALL of those games, not 'any of those games'. As for the rest of the post, it's just 'hindsight statistics' echoing what we've all seen with our own eyes - we don't score enough and we concede too many, hence our -22 goal difference. -
Not sure that's going to stop him being picked....

I don't get how a year in the championship is going to make him a better 'keeper. It appears his biggest weaknesses are positioning (fair enough, that may improve but no reason why it can't in the PL) and not being able to catch / stop shots. I just don't see how that is going to improve no matter what league he plays in.

Win against Man City - players played well (relatively speaking) because it was a 'shop window', Man City spunk plenty of cash and pay good wages so they want to make an impression. Win against Everton - another shop window against a club who pay well. Win against Chelsea - hello shop window, the club that is most likely to buy our shit players and give them bags of money every week. To me, it's that simple. Most of our players are only prepared to put a shift in if they think they might get a move to a club that pay higher wages. Mercenaries.
