  1. To be fair, NATO has also not responded to the following wars currently being fought : Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Columbia, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Iraq, Libya, Mali, Mexico, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Yemen as none of them are members either. Putin can send his troops into any of those and NATO will also not intervene...
  2. I know he's an absolute basket case but this latest statement doesn't make any sense... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60633482 Last week he was saying that no sanctions would hurt Russia, now he seems to be saying they would be like a war. No idea what he means with the second line, is he thanking God that war hasn't been declared or that sanctions haven't been imposed?
  3. To be fair, they probably did, especially as the power station was built by the Soviets when Ukraine was part of the USSR.

  5. Given the unanimous actions in the sporting world in the past few days - even from FIFA! - it seems odd that they have any sort of decision to make, especially as the biggest fear seems to be a 'legal' challenge from the Russians, who clearly take laws really, really seriously. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/disability-sport/60572242
  6. Looks like it's going to take quite a while to 'conquer' Ukraine, so I'm guessing the timetable for marching through Poland has also slipped. Where does that leave us for the Russian army marching up the Mall, will it be before or after the Jubilee weekend now?
  7. To show people what tanks in a street look like? Using an old 'stock photo' is probably safer than going to an active combat area and taking a 'live' picture isn't it?
  8. Yes. (although its been over 12 years since I was in the hospitality industry, but good job you're bang up to date). Also expecting lots of Turkish planes to land at Weston Airport.
  9. Maybe, depends where you're going... FlightRadar makes for interesting viewing at the moment over Russia, but it looks like plenty of flights to and from Russia to Dubai / UAE. Pretty easy to get a connecting flight from there for anyone who wants to... Turkey seems to be doing alright in the flights to Moscow stakes as well.
  10. 2k row at the fastest pace you can keep is an excellent way to increase cardio capacity - forgot how much it hurts until I did one last week, and basically in the 'red zone' for 6-7 minutes! Sadly, knees and ankles are way too far gone for me to do most of the crossfit routines so have to stick with rower / crosstrainer plus weights during the week and dragging my arse around on the bike at the weekend!
  11. Frankly, it's a good thing that the Russians looking after the Russian nuclear arsenal are on their highest readiness level. Hopefully this means they will be more vigilant and less likely to 'lose' a missile or two (or have one stolen by a tractor!). Surely those looking after nuclear missiles from every nation should be on their highest alert level at all times?
  12. The word 'state' in this context refers to 'statehood'. You asked for my definition of state and country, I gave it to you. Trying to prove my definition wrong because the UN has decided to use flexibility in its definition seems superflous (and so far off topic it isn't relevant) https://mckinneylaw.iu.edu/iiclr/pdf/vol12p25.pdf
  13. What do they call themselves when they compete at the Olympics or the World Cup?
  14. More made up shit. 'Russia' wasn't within the USSR. Do you actually have a point anymore or have you confused yourself?
  15. Have you ever heard of the 'United States of America'? Or, perhaps the 'Union of Soviet Socialist Republics'? Both of those are made up of 'states' within the physical borders of the 'country'. Countries have borders, states are defined areas / territories / regions within that country's borders.
  16. What on earth are you wittering on about? 1. What the fuck has that got to do with whether Russia was called (or considered itself to be) Russia or the USSR when the 'Russian' State ballet was set up? 2. Ukraine isn't a state. It's a country. That's not rocket science and I don't believe it is even being debated on here, that's just some bollocks you've made up! The opinion of their people is entirely relevant as is their right to defend their country if / when attacked. Feel free to point out anything that either Badger or I have said to the contrary, or wind your neck in and stop making up shit to suit your pathetic argument! We've both said that Putin doesn't consider Ukraine to be a country, but accepting that that is his thought process whilst believing Ukraine is its own independent country is not an impossible task for those with brain cells. Nice to see you've made an absolute tit of yourself once again
  17. Odd that they would form the 'Russian' state ballet of Siberia in 1978 and not call it the 'Soviet Union' state ballet of Siberia. Even more odd that it was made up of graduates of the choreographic schools of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg. It's almost as if the old Soviet Union acknowledged over 40 years ago that it could still be referred to as 'Russia'. History, eh?
  18. Odd that no pedants have pointed out that the 'Russians' didn't invade Afghanistan and there cannot, therefore, be any memories of that conflict
  19. Presumably he's wiping that debt if he's giving control to the charity as they simply won't have the funds to cover that much debt and would have to call in administrators as soon as they took control 🤷‍♀️
  20. Worst cover story ever.
  21. Presumably he's wiping the slate clean of the £2bn debt the club owes him if he's handing it over to the charity...
  22. But can you do a 10k row on an ERG in less than 50 minutes?
  23. I'm just down the road in Weston 👋
  24. Then you really haven't been paying much attention! Putin is upset with the former Russian states that gained independence and are trying to move away from the 'Motherland'. Those that tow the line and have sympathetic leaders are fine, those that don't will be 'taught a lesson' by Putin. Regime changes will be forced (or so he thinks) and sympathetic leaders put in place. That's what he has to gain, the same as 2014 when he 'took back' Crimea. He then guarantees security for his gas pipelines into Europe.
  25. That'll be a no then
