Impossible! Surely 15,000 sell out bestest fans should be way up the pecking order for FL fan of the year. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-36069975 Nice one Oskar

"we're so sh_it that even goalkeepers can score against us in the last minute"?

To be fair, all those books look brand new so I doubt he's ever read it....

To be fair to the inbred that posted that statement, he did say MLT 'could have' joined them. In the same way that Maradonna 'could have' been their manager in the prem and they 'could have' drained all the water from Portsmouth Harbour to make the bestest potty stadium in the world or that Riquelme 'could have' joined them when they were in the prem. On the sceptic isle, starting a sentence with 'could have' [or the much greater spotted 'could of'], makes things far more believable for the simpletons and becomes the basis upon which 'facts' are created.

The weekend riding thread.

I'm ten months in to cycling properly, over 2 stone lighter and as fit as I've been since I was about 18, but climbing gets me every time! I'm regularly overtaken up the two 'big' climbs near me but once I get to the top, dripping with sweat and coughing up a lung or two, I know I've put everything in to the climb. Besides, a glance at the HR monitor will always tell me I'm in the red and probably have been for at least three quarters of the climb, so you can't ask for more than that! The same thought always comes in to my head when I'm overtaken, which is, 'how would they get on with a rucksack on their back with about 30kg in it?' because, frankly, that is probably the difference between these whippet like riders and me! My bet is I'd paste them up the hills Just over 27 miles today, relatively flat, but managed to average 16mph which is a new record for me : https://www.strava.com/activities/539800285 Another flat one tomorrow and looking for about 35-40 miles with the same average speed. -
"relive pompey's open top bus parade". They really have become the football club that parody's this very thread!

Sounds like jealousy to me! I'm sure if you also had a 'black friend' you'd be free to do the same! Is it just me or did anyone else notice the guy who said he's been going to FP for 12 years and never witnessed anything like it! Is he deaf and blind?
-
Then, sadly, your friend is bit of an idiot! Anybody who gave that lot credit after the last TWO administrations needs their head read! Notice that the banks won't even give them a credit facility which should tell you more than enough! And to give them credit for six figures is financial suicide for a small business!

Can anyone remind us about the Tesco money? The seven? figure sum - anyone know how much that was? Was it ever revealed or published in their accounts? Have they still got the money and is it being saved for stadium redevelopments or to build a new stadium or have they blown the lot on champagne and canapés?
-
Yeah right! Like you've never typed 'fish love' into google!
-
Nor did he mention the championship standard floodlights.
-
To be fair, they aren't even obsessed with them.
-
I thought they were playing away this week?
-
I went for the new stadium option. Would love to see 15,000 empty seats every other week.

You lot are slacking! The9 has mentioned his wife four or five times and no-one has called for rule 1. So, here it is, rule 1 please The9! Also, not one person has mentioned the egg chasing

Garmin with Android is excellent - the bands are anyway. I have the vivosmart HR, the wife has a vivosmart and daughter has vivoactive. All three of us have Android phones and never have an issue with syncing the bands and having bluetooth always on doesn't seem to affect the battery life of the phone much and allows the sync to happen in the background. The forerunner was a bit of a pain to sync as you had to access a menu in order to turn bluetooth on and then turn on the app on the phone to get the sync to start, a bit fiddly but never had to delete the app or device from the app...

Frankly, it's crap! I had it for five weeks and then sent it back for a refund. The biggest issue is with the HR monitor. I was turning the HR on before starting an exercise to allow time for the watch to stabilise, then you go to another menu to start recording the exercise and the watch would lose the HR! It would then take anywhere from 8 to 20 minutes to re-establish the correct heart rate again which, when doing a quick 30 minute turbo session is pretty useless when 20 minutes of it is recorded at 70bpm! The idea behind the watch is sound, unfortunately I don't think the tech is good enough at the moment. I have replaced it with a vivosmart HR which works much better, is a fair whack cheaper and a lot smaller on the wrist. It doesn't have GPS but I always take my phone when out on the bike anyway so use that one.

Absolutely right. This new club is squeaky clean and has never done anything wrong financially, you can see this in the accounts they've published....

Jeremy Hunt and the demonisation of the NHS
Weston Super Saint replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in The Lounge
I've always assumed that this was their 'modus operandi'. -
Not sure why they'd need to bother. Top is top, so they can't get any higher anyway. Leave that sport science piffle to those teams that aren't top.

Jeremy Hunt and the demonisation of the NHS

I read somewhere today - I forget where - that working 1 Saturday in 4 is considered as 'unreasonable' for junior doctors and thus triggers a 30% pay rise. To me - having worked in hospitality for 18 years and working nigh on every weekend [Friday, Sat & Sun] except for holidays - it seems incredible that this would apply! Ask any of the people you meet who are working at the weekend, from the person who sells you some milk on a Saturday morning to the bar person who pulls you a pint on Saturday night or Sunday lunch and every single one of them would LOVE a 30% increase for working at the weekend! The issue is, they won't get it. The reason they won't get it is because they knew what they were getting in to before they took the job! Just like the doctors do. They know that evening and weekend work will be required. I'm not complaining that they get the 30% pay rise. I am complaining that they are not happy about it! To me, having given up 18 years of weekends - which was my choice to do so! - they are an awful lot luckier than pretty much everyone else that works at the weekend. Most of those will be on little more than minimum wage...
