I expected nothing from this game. Even on a lucky day, Mason would have screwed us on the VAR monitor. But, what this defeat has done, is highlight just how big that missed opportunity of last week was. We cannot afford to regress back into those sorts of results. We'll be entrenched in a relegation battle by the turn of the year, and it will look very bleak if we cannot score, and are conceding such cheap goals. As a founder member of the Ralph is great club, I'm sure his jekyll and hyde tactics will see us batter Leicester and Bha in the next few days. Zero from the next two is now unthinkable.

Liverpools line is so high, if we can get a pass right, we'll have chances to score today. Going to concede a few whatever happens though. Sadly.
-
At least we don't get the 'lost points from winning positions' bullshit today! Brightside.
-
Three games in seven days. Need to come through this unscathed, and ready to dust ourselves down, and be super prepared for two big home games. I reckon we'll get four pts from these.

I'm not dead against giving FF a roll of the dice, but you do have to be careful when dropping a keeper that is perceived as first choice. If we destroy his confidence, that could create far more trouble going forward. Then imagine that Liverpool turn it on and score a hat full. Dodgy territory. If FF is to get his chance, it needs to be because he has earned it, rather than Macca giving it to him.

If they really want to milk more money out of us, how about playing the first half on Saturday, and the second half on Sunday. That could work.......we might even be first on motd as we wait for the next days capitulation!

You've got to love our reactionary fans. One week we are the pits, the next we're on the verge of conquering europe.

It's a shame that they have already annihilated their group in the Champions League. He can pretty much put out the second string with no pressure on Weds. Usually I'd be quite heartened by a midweek game, but not this time. I can only see defeat on the weekend, hopefully keep the score down to respectable.

He should not have reported for international duty. He needs to get back to peak fitness, because this stop start playing is helping no-one. He had covid a year ago, so no point trying to blame it on that.
-
If Vegard Forren was great we'd have won the Cup. Some pretty big if's thus far.........
-
I've never seen a team so desperately in need of a two goal lead, and so bad at getting one. It's the perfect storm.
-
Although he was utter shit today, he has been pretty decent this season. I'm leaving the baby drowning in the bath water for a bit longer.
-
God that was shit, but (warning, this will be a trigger for many of you) that was not as bad as the Wolves performance. Silver lining.

If Norwich are not going to play Gunn in this fixture, then I don't see him breaking through! 😆

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
LiberalCommunist replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Didn't we get a very dubious decision against Brighton last time around. It doesn't negate the other decisions, but it is worth remembering. -
When I watch him, I just feel the beedy envious eyes of Klopp and co. And it worries me shitless. If we are to have two years max, then I can live with that. But can the media refrain from selling him to everyone and their dog in the summer, just for once.

So Dean Smith has had the perfect scouting mission for this game. He went as far as to say he has a advantage. Ralph is armed with this information, so should he change our approach for this game? I'd say not. Start this with high energy tactics, on the front foot, same as the last few games & the pressure will firmly be on them to come up with an answer to it. My only real concern is we dominate and not take our chances. But, we've got to stick to our game plan. We are creating chances, we do look organised in defence, we've just got to maximise the energy levels once again. What would be bloody lovely, is having a two goal lead around the 60 min mark so we could make some changes, without handing out an incentive to Norwich. But, as a wise man once said. We got this.............

It benefits us more playing Che & Adam. Especially when we grind some pts and take the pressure off. If Broja muscles his way in, and forces those boys to lose big game time it sets up a few problems. Are they both good enough, will we give them a chance next season. Or are we sent looking for replacements. Broja's price will rise ruling us out of a move for him. (perhaps he's already unobtainable?) Stability. Continuity. Financial viability. We've seen how difficult it is to negotiate with even the midtable clubs in the Championship. We really don't want to be starting the search again this summer. So I'm all in on backing the Che & Adam success story. (I really like Broja, and I know he has a part to play, just in case that didn't come across)

Che waited patiently last year. Quietly worked hard and improved as he waited for his chance. And now Ings has gone he is Ralph's first pick up front. Once the easy chances start going in, then the debate will end. But I'm just happy we have capable players pushing the likes of Che on. It bodes well going forward.
-
We are going to have a strong bench! I love this concept of squad depth we have newly discovered.
-
There's a subtle Slough connection. Have you heard Broja talk, check it out.
-
I heard the only reason he misses training is to watch repeat episodes of the Office. Can't find a reliable source at the mo.

We might get a fair crack from Mason as my online abuse case isn't due in court till late next week! (lol joke obviously) But I hasten to add, if I was as incompetent as he, in any of the jobs I've ever had, I wouldn't just resign, I'd return my wages. This guy is stealing a living. And the fact he's still working tells me what the real problem is.
-
His high confidence will be a great asset to us over the coming games. I'm really looking forward to him kicking on. Just imagine his goal tally when these sitters start going in! Good times.

To be fair, before var was introduced I was pretty sure some refs were getting messages in their ear. Some very unnatural delays seemed to be frequent when undertaking decisions for a select few. Always made me wonder.
