Who's Looking Forward to the "Big Derby Match"?
Ex Ringwood Saint replied to The9's topic in The Saints
Strange one but Wycombe for me ! Work in Slough and my boss lives in Wycombe and often goes to the games...He's been on about this one since we got relegated.... -
Ha! Was just thinking the same thing.. couple of temporary stands for the fans and their dogs, and we are ready for league one at our start of the art facility... Can turn St Mary' s into an ice rink then....
-
Ha agree about non league footy.. I am up in Fleet and am contemplating watching some local games next year if I don't get to visit St Marys.... Over the last 5 years I have probably watched 4 games on TV... Just not interested anymore in the big boys and their money... Roll on gates of 500, uncovered stands, and cheap pies !

I think if the number of first team players was fixed, and then as back up you could add at any time products of your own youth policy, I think you would have some kind of halfway house. It would also encourage clubs to adopt a good yout policy, and if restrictions on overseas numbers were imposed it could only be a good thing.... To be honest I think the sooner Euro league is formed and the game goes back to being a saturday 3.00 game with no live tv coverage the better.. but its not going to happen anytime soon.....

Incredible! Brighton secure £93m from new owner!

Looks like the old milton stand with the slope !! Ha... Imagine if we had done that to the Dell....the neighbours may of complained though.... -
No..todays capitulation and all that has gone before mean that a complete break from this awful season is required....
-
I have decided to pick up a season ticket this year. I must admit going on saturday made me realise what I had missed recently.. Yes I am a slacker and had not been for a while.. shame on me..! But I will look forward to some good games next season... Bring it on....
-
Adds to what i heard yesterday that RL was involved in one of the 2 bids currently under due diligence...make of that what you will.....Ho Hum...Rumours rumours and more worry until things come out in the open......
-
Yep, he has won me over..and you only have to see from his appearance in the program, from both the sporting dinner and his column how much I am sure he would love to stay.. I just fear that other forces will be the ones that dictate where he plays next year..Perry commented on Solent that one of the things kelvin said during his huddle that it was probably going to be the last time a lot of them played together at St Mary's...I think he really would stay if he could.....

For the first time in years I've got a big smile on my face.

mmmm just hope that the vasaline smeared mr lowe is not one of those front runners...like most people who hear the odd rumour, i heard from that he was interested but think he would have to have kahoonas of concrete to show his face again..or the ego of a mad man......so probably he will then..... -
Saints 2-2 Burnley Post Match Reaction - Saints Relegated
Ex Ringwood Saint replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
From today i'd like Davis, Perry, Size, James and Gillet, However, expect probably only two of those to still be here...... Need a big lump center forward and a midfield engine with a bit of lower league nouse..its gonna be tough but after what I saw today I have some hope, and hope to be there next season..... -
Fantastic idea.. This is the sort of thing that needs to be hi-lited outside of this message boardf via the media to show just how fantastic Saints fans and those in teh ticket office can be......

Yeh, ok maybe i am being melodramatic, but the point of the thread was just to think back to happier times. This club has been slowly suffocating over the last three years and maybe death is a strong word, but this club will have new owners (if the come forward) and be run very differently from the club we had back in the prem.... Its not going to be the same entity we have known.. That could be good or bad, i don't know.. for me the club I remember as SFC will be those days at the dell, I think whatever happens now will further break the ties this club had to that age for me.. Maybe I am just getting tired of everything that has happened over the last few years.. I so want us to come out of this like the pheonix from the flames, bounce back and show the world what we are.. I just hope we can do it. I hope remembering the good times will ake sure that happens maybe..dunno.. i'll shut up and go back to lurking...Its what I do best....
-
Ok, i don't post much but lurk and read, and have followed all the downs and downs of the last few seasons with growing depression and fear, and feel today SFC as we have known it has finally sadly passed away.... So, like at all good funerals, lets have a post match rememberance of the good old days..Lets have some happy anecdotes, moments that make you smile, moments you will never forget as a Saints fan. Something to cheer us in this darkest moment. They can be anything, big or small... I'll start for what its worth...In no particular order.... The 5th goal going in in the Norwich game...I was at uni and listening on the radio resigned to a point..could not believe it... Coming out of Dellhurst heading back to the train.. the day was superb and the atmosphere electric A sea of yellow at Cardiff.....Having a **** next to Peter Rodrigues at half time, and him talking to my old man on the phone about 76 whilst doing it !!! Terry Curran scoring at the Dell in 79!! Ivan Golac scoring v West Brom I think... Fantastic unstopable shot.... I could go on but will leave to whoever wants to continue... Southampton FC Till I Die... just hope Southampton FC does not die before me....
-
who knows.....6-0 saints with McG hat-trick and 2 Wotton free kicks, and a solo effort from Skacel...nurse...........................
