Which premier league Soccerball club will you support next season?

A bit of a drop down to my local non league...oh, you mean for one of your teams? 🙂 That must have been really pleasing to type. If only the internet was around in the early '80s.. We've signed Kevin Keegan! -
This would help explain why he, and the likes of Downes were so disappointed. Martin said something along the lines of thinking he would get longer. Partly because, in his mind, they weren't far away. But also because they knew it would be a struggle, and were looking to build. It was the nature and frequency of the defeats that did for him. If we're giving it a plucky relegation scrap, he might still be here. There's an element of SR not sticking to their plan of backing Martin across additional seasons. Very difficult to look at the results and think of any other outcome. But SR jumping around between systems shows a lack of conviction, even as they praise the "project"

A SR problem, and not just a Chorley one. 🙂

When this came up before, there was the feeling that the club 1) realised how weak it was since last relegation 2) Did the business it could within resources, but clearly didn't get some main targets 3) Knew that it would be a struggle, but looked to have a more solid foundation for the next promotion push when it happened. Personally, I think SR are their own worst enemies in creating these problems in the first place. And by stronger for the next push, they meant not a massive dressing room full of sulking cliques. Which hasn't been fully solved, as it turnsed out anyway. But yes, if you have to go down, it does make sense to recruit to minimise that impact. Which is why, if those plans were at all effective, we should be pushing for a straight promotion.

3-1 in the end. England had one ruled out, that would have made it 2-2. I only caught 30 or so mins. Lots of quick paced passing from both. When England sent in a poor free kick, with bodies up the park, and Jones got caught with the ball, that quick passing got Senegal their third. They looked worth the win from the spell I caught.

I know times are tight, but it's a bit creepy for me...oh message from RIckie Lambert...as you were... 🙂

When all the VA fans were chanting "On yer bike, SR!" I don't think that's what they were hoping for 🙂

One thing you must do, is check that you get your VA squad back at the end of the trip, and they're not switched for our PL dumplings. 🙂

I can see some posts regarding how he sets up at Rangers and how that works for him on a number of levels. Comparing and contrasting with what we got here. This would seem to be the place for that, considering the previous discussions. Just my tuppence.

Cucurella doesn't look old enough to have fought in war. 🙂 As an utter man child, he doesn't seem to be much threat, even if he was old enough.

A sad day when our moderation is done by wonky AI 🙂

Oh the sticker book! We were all healthier kids because all the money we got for sweets went on Panini stickers.🙂 We didn't keep them as kids, but I made sure to get a complete album off eBay years ago. 🙂 -
Our Our forum camaraderie shall count for naught as we face each other across the battlefield! The very ground shall run red with...well red or brown ... depending on which side you've taken. 🙂

Death was the death of our hope of anything but disaster. Metal was the best material to hit our heads off, at the stupidity of those involved. Football was what our opponents were playing.

Brown sauce for sausage sandwich. Ketchup for bacon sandwich. Salt and vinegar for fish and chips. Proper tea with the above These are the foundations upon which civilisation is built!

My 1982 World Cup immersion was the stuff that only someone with an endless, warm, summer holiday, a fresh set of felt tips for tracking player and team info, and friends to play football with between games could have. -
"It has to be a player you believe can make an instant impact and is going to make a significant contribution as the season goes on." Surprisingly, not a quote from the guys who gave us Gronbaek and Cornet. It's from Wrexham ahead of using the loan market.

For those who couldn't care less about such things, as long as it's couldn't...

"It shall never catch on," I said in my FO report, after watching Rimet hand over a trophy in Montevideo. -
I'm not sure. I hope I don't start obsessing about the answer. 🙂 Rangers's new owners have not unveiled a warchest for purchases. There may be a bit more than they've said, and they are coyly trying to keep prices sane. However, not only do they need an expensive overhaul, but their thoughts are never far from their neighbours. Celtic have had a decent run with recruitment. Rangers tried to get Ross Wilson to help replicate it, and it didn't work. Now Celtic can shop in a slightly better store, which has it's own challenges. Rangers are playing catch up again, still needing hits from nearly everyone they bring in. Downes would appear to well out of their range, both in fee and wages, no matter how much they get on. Smallbone is a more realistic option, as he worked very well under Russ, but one that would still make a dent in their resources.

Brand Martin will be forever on point, as the blue half of Glasgow goes nuts around him. It's his pathway to his next job, and has worked well for him so far.

I was impressed with the writer of that. I thought the hyperventilation was sure to make him pass out after a couple of paragraphs. But they kept going to describe the sky falling down. 🙂
