  1. Acshully >hic< we prefers to call it the Transfer Hub >hic<
  2. Following up my link to the express 🙂 A former police official (can't find link as on radio) saying those involved should look closely at anti terrorism legislation. Because he considers that some of the recent actions do cross that line into terrorism. As much as that seemed like an escalation, it's also a reminder of the extremists out there, happily taking advantage/ stoking these actions.
  3. But only "great" hair. So, not like Stu at all. 🙂
  4. Yeah, I was aware after I posted that it was just sitting there, contextless. Having said that, I do look every now and again at the Scottish version, for their pathological hatred of the SNP, Harry &Megan and undying love for their fav TV programme ( that I assume they get paid to plug)
  5. The express also ran it https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1932225/uk-riots-stoke-police-mosque
  6. SR's dream scenario is to be paying championship wages to a squad that then gets sold to CL clubs for the maximum profit. Dreaming of more Livramentos and Lavia's, while losing a ton of cash by being relegated, and losing a lot more on the way with a dreadful January window. Like the analysis Rasmus' has done throughout his career, he'll have focused on that player profit, with the others fixable. And we now will have one of the lowest wage budgets. So, they've now got that along the path to where they want. Generally, you get what you pay for when it comes to PL wages. There are outliers. Chelsea buying a disjointed squad, Man Utd's desperate high value, low resale buys, and Everton's mini squad of 10s. On the other hand, Brentford and Brighton consolidated from lower starts. Villa realised their low wage bill, on promotion, gave them scope to push the boat out to get well up the table. SR want to operate like that. But with progress tempered by regular, hopefully planned, sales to the big clubs. Also to be considered are having to be careful with funds (impact of loans, relegations and contracts to departed managers, and players who haven't departed). I've put my thoughts on what I think their ambition is above. If that's what they're going for then no point in spending loads of transfer pennies on players with large wages. Also, there will have been no shortage of offers from clubs and agents. But they have to work within the wage structure. Clubs have found they simply couldn't afford to bring in their targets, not least because of the impact it would have on the contracts of others.
  7. I didn't hear an English translation of Kremlev's rant, so thanks for providing more behind all the annoyed reporters who came out of there. Yesterday's muddled statement, is no clearer. Unsurprisingly, they can't release the data. Apparently we can "read between the lines." Except we can't and shouldn't either. However, credibility over IBA procedures, motivations, results and now sanity do remain.
  8. That Beeb one, was the first I've seen to say "accuracy of the tests." I took that to include the results. Looks like the lines are well drawn between the two organisations.
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/articles/cnk4427vvd2o The link is an update on the boxing. It's now saying there's doubt about the test (IOC quotes), as well as the previous issues around the procedure of the tests. The IBA quote says that there were ' "different strands involved in that" and therefore the body could not commit to referring to the fighters as "biologically male". So, that seems less than clear. Having started off their coverage with a simply "Russian" to indicate their opinion of the IBA, this report now indicates that although the fighter was disqualified rounds after fighting a Russian, the disqualification retroactively wiped that defeat from the Russian's record. No doubt there will be more tomorrow.
  10. It might have been the silence of the lambs thing I put up earlier, but I'm picturing Ralph peeling off his bloody Russ Face. "No real face could have a beard so well trimmed!" and "Of course we'll not need replacements for Fraser or Brooks! Not in a 4-2-2-2!" So, thanks for that image. I'm really hoping we've another Ralph at the club.
  11. It would've been had they not been temporarily reassigned from front line duties, working undercover, well under wrapper, to promote harmony across all communities of our great land. In other news, the rate of diabetes continues to soar. Health officials have linked surges to known political hotspots, and are seeking information on a group known as the Milky Bar Gang.
  12. In fairness, a shout of "The milky bars are on me!" followed by a rain of free chocs would distract an angry mob, allowing for police to control the situation. A ton of falling milky bars would crush rioters into a pulp. A sad loss, but one I'm sure we could pull together as a nation, and get over. If you'd like to learn more, I'll put up the link to the training I got. "Willy Wonka's Assymetrical Threat Analysis and Resolution."
  13. I was wondering why I was posting a fair bit this afternoon. Our village idiot wasn't around. No sooner back, and we have call backs to that recent time he made a sexist remark and didn't learn from it and that recent time he made a transphobic remark and didn't learn from it. Normal service resumes. >sigh<
  14. Tired of Sunday rain, Holmes and Watson nip into the future... Checking into SaintsWeb...
  15. I remember his Norwich interviews. Clearly able to believe, and express, things in the face of reality. You're going to have to get closer to your target Agent Gio Starling. "An interviewer once tried to test me. I ate...his vegan sausages. Right out his lunch box. Because that's my vegan lifestyle. Did I tell you about that...?" 🙂
  16. It's the approach Rasmus' experiences will be keen on. Tap unfancied markets Markets that are becoming so remote, we were probably trying to sign Llama, and got Lallana by mistake. Take a data led (with scouting) approach to picking up talented bargains, at lower wages to sell on fairly quickly, as they are all that good. Sadly, it's just us and a ton of other clubs doing it. I'm all for just hiring a guy to sit in a Parkhead pub and get their scouting gossip.
  17. Ta. You've been consistent on your thoughts on it, and I get your points. it's been good to have a think and discussion. Appreciated. And well worth the reminder of all those who think, feel or have legitimate concerns that they are at an unfair disadvantage. Huge amounts of dedication and focus for all of them. Interesting example too, and yeah just a massive impact on anyone involved. We'll have to wait and see if that had a bearing here, and how it impacts future eligibility.
  18. Or let it float out more to a little island. It's not solving immigration issues, as such, but would help control population numbers, and resources. The first lot on the island can spend their time attacking later arrivals as immigrants. So, that will keep them happy.
  19. At 4:30, KWP walking past with luggage, and hailing a taxi was also a sign. 🙂
  20. I was careful with that. There's no evidence providing information on the physical development of these athletes. No evidence if there's a DSD or how, if there is, this is expressed. Not surprising, considering the sensitivity. The only thing I have seen is that after competing for years (which does not mean there wasn't an underlying issue), they subsequently failed tests. There's nothing to suggest any of these athletes knew about any issues prior to that. We're no doubt going to be hearing more about that procedure, and it's veracity, in days to come. But the procedure is in doubt, and it will be interesting if the results can be considered credible. I think the majority of both sides will end up with the view they started with. If credible, then will feed into future eligibility criteria, complete with all the issues the IOC, using it's passport approach was trying to avoid. If not credible/ uncertain, then people will have to make up their own minds. But testing may well have to go through changes anyway. You could easily have people legitimately considered by nations to be of one sex, disqualified through DSD advantages, where things like testosterone limits are fine. The IOC would be an arbiter of determining sex, which is exactly what they've tried to get away from. That would shift to national organisations, who would run right into their own legal systems as if hit by a heavyweight. I don't know following those tests what the impact on the athletes was in other competition. It was recent enough that they presumably already knew they passed the Olympics criteria (the same as the last one?). In the absence of other information, and considering DSD (of which there's not even evidence of that here) and identity (a personal driving factor, if arguable in other respects), there's not necessarily any compelling reason for them to have withdrawn.
  21. Yeah, it's clear that historically, whether IOC or IBA or predecessors, all are incredibly dodgy. Where there's doubt about the procedure and doubts about the organisation, no doubt there will be questions on the results. I don't know if the actual tests are carried out by some scrupulous third party. Due to confidentiality, I'm a little surprised at the release of information regarding the test. Perhaps the announcement can only go so far, as in general findings. Likewise, if it relies on a new test from a new sample, the athletes in question are under no obligation to comply. They've met the entry criteria and are going to get medals.
