  1. I've seen him a lot for Norwich, where he's progressed from lump to decent in our budget forward. Last season,he worked well with Sainz, and got to fucus on improving in other areas, when he had a good creative player with him.
  2. I'll need to switch over my PL podcasts to...lower league ones. >sob< 🙂
  3. I saw either on Beeb or telegraph that the asking price for Sargant is 16 million. While wages etc would have to be agreed, it's a price within our range for an improving, and already capable Championship forward.
  4. I was seeing development in Edozie, even in the games he had before SR felt Cornet was the ideal loanee, and Sule had to be around, if only to get some money back on him. He was trying a variety of things to get past players. Considering his position, that's not always going to happen anyway. But he wasn't doing the same thing time and again. The output of that wasn't great in the PL. Yes, that was sometimes due to not making the right decision. But it was just as often, because there wasn't enough support, or there was no one in the box at all. That was a common one under Martin. Compact, deep lying possession team gets ball and has to quickly move it up the park. Some players get there before others. An extreme example was Sule, at the end of the season, who got there before anyone, but could do nothing with it. Back to Edozie, his overall game, like quite a few under Martin, improved in the Championship. Early on, his defensive work needed a kick. He got it, and was excellent on occasions after that. He got 6 goals and was looking like that would get better before being injured. As a team, we had more balance when we had Tella and a fit Stu in it. Someone with the technical ability to support, and attack in the middle in Stu, and a more direct, physical player in Tella, to balance out an AA or an Edozie. We don't have either at the minute. AA, Edozie, Fraser and Dibling to an extent are too similar. But, like SAA, it's disappointing to see a player getting better, which is what the plan was, getting moved on before we get the benefit of it.
  5. Now we know why Lallana was kept. To help with all the grooming ahead of that Open Day. 🙂
  6. I don't blame if he wants to go, after being dumped down the pecking order behind Fraser, Sule and Cornet. I was hoping the new set up would see him getting plenty of opportunities this season.
  7. It's a thought, but it might give SR the excuse to play a team of left backs, nustjust because they've been stock-piling them. 🙂
  8. Russ and Cap'n Jack, just 18 months ago.
  9. Exactly. Just a "teenage indiscretion." Pay no mind that his recollection bears no resemblance to what he was convicted for.
  10. 'In statement, McMurdock said his business dealings had been assessed by "appropriately qualified professionals" and "absolute compliance was confirmed".' It was a free for all as banks and governments dodged together rules to apply, keeping companies going without the requirement of lots of paperwork as proof. Cue tons of fraudsters dusting off old companies, networks of companies and recently set up ones with delusions on future earnings. So, just because he got the money doesn't mean for a second he's not completely at it. Nearly all knew exactly what they were doing. His background in banking makes it certain he did. And of course, this tells you all you need to know about him. https://news.sky.com/story/reform-mp-james-mcmurdock-was-jailed-for-repeatedly-kicking-girlfriend-court-records-show-13258311
  11. Right up until 85 mins, it was France's game. They were in control, and had the odd opportunity, without over reaching. England's passing was miles of their own standard tonight. England switched to a back 3. Considering the space they'd been giving away down the flanks, they could really have started that way. Toone, on as a sub, got some central pressure finally for England. That led to an excellent goal from Walsh. Then, England had a front two and caused France some issues, the best being a last player clearance a couple of yards from the line. France deserved their win. England can be much better, and will have to be in a tough group. Netherlands won, so that's already changing the group dynamic in a really tight tournament structure.
  12. Creepy.
  13. Bruising first half, with England 2-0 down to France. Both evenly matched, when England had VAR rule one out. England worked hard in the move to keep people onside. Even the graphic 5 mins later looked onside. But that changed the momentum. England lost momentum after it was ruled out, and France dominating the midfield. From there, they opened space behind the defence. Carter is okay as a right back, but is a weaker link at left back, and was second best throughout. After good spell of pressure France got their opener from behind right back, getting a ball across for a tap in. But there was space on the other side, with Bronze pushing up. Bronze's outstretched touch, after 2 England defenders were bypassed, gave space for the second. After that, France have moved into being more compact, out muscling England, and keen to counter. England have excellent attackers. With luck, France will be compact again, giving England space in their half to get back into it.
  14. I was tempted, but it turns out it's not Lisa Stanfield playing up front.
  15. I see our third kit has been leaked ahead of our Amazon Prime series, Pirates of the Solent, as we try to capture that Wrexham Hollywood buzz.
  16. Barcelonasaint's point concerned player fitness, and was supported by his second post. Trolling that it's suddenly about structure willfully misses his point, and is a return to you being a bell end.
  17. After surprise TP and Sule pennies, any thing's possible. Hoffenheim pulled out of a 12.8 million pound move for him last summer. Most agree that there is talent there. We paid something like 10 million euros for him. At this stage a thing over a couple of million euros is an accounting profit. A sell on would be nice, and get what we can over that couple of million, so that everyone can move on.
  18. Looking forward to this season's pre match Pride shirt. Although it's slightly less colourful than...
  19. If only I had something like that. But that was definitely one my brother got. To be fair it was just one of many from the Britannia Music Club. We didn't get pocket money as such, but got recurring things bought for us. Since my brother was in Britannia, I didn't have to ask for music. He'd let me order things too, once in a while. That's why, by the time I was buying music my tastes were already refined. Which is why I reckon it was something by the Bangles. 🙂
