  1. Think you are right... its probably escaped anyone's notice how many who still have 'insecurities' and prejudices suddenly start defending churches when the whole Homosexual issue arrises... Personally... it is a religeous bodies right to make up its own rules, even if those rules demonstrate how archaic, ignorant and down right bonkers the whole religeous nonsense is in the first place. The only reason why the current main religeons still keep going, is because those that set them up have power to do so and have by luck or chance stumbled on dogma that its so far not been possible to disprove or prove - and guess what, you gaoota take it on faith! - If othere civilisations had survived in tact and grown, chances are we would still have Roman gods, or Greek or even Norse - yet we dont... funny that. Guess we cant worhip volcanoes anymore as we know what causes tehm these days, and it aint some supernatural wrath. But hey we are ALL atheists to some exent as a result - even if you believe in one god, there are so mamy others you dont believe in.... Gay christians wanting marriage in church? churches choice really. But it shows how ignorant their teachings really are - then again they dont do evolution to well either so not surprizing really. As someone pointed out, Homosexual behaviour is seen in other species - and yes there is a genetic component, and NO its not a defect. Its a a natural part of the genetic variation that exists within a genepool as a byproduct of the the evolution of our specific sexual characterists - I could give you the details, but principly we have evolved pair bonding emotions (as well as pleasure from sex) to ensure fathers stick around to help raise their young and thus reach maturity and pass on the genes again. In humans this evolutionary emotional development (love) coupled with sexual pleasure, means its superceeded the 'procreation only' genetic driver - If you that find homosexuality 'unnatural' were only allowed sex for procreation, then you might see things a little differently. All begins with the anisogamy concept (explains a lot). End result - Homosexulaity is as natural as hetero in human terms. Why the churces have a hang up about it? Again a good guess would be the same way they have a hang up about promiscuity, the 'corruption' of 'moral' values that they define - (and regulary ignore themeselves), as they do with any new scientific understanding that errodes their historic rhetoric.
  2. Not so sure.. really, think its going to be closer to 90 - think we need 7 wins from last 10 games? Tricky as will depend on WHU and Reading... darn its complicated this guessing malarky ;-) Think 90 will win it, 88/89 for second and third will end up on around 85/86 - will go to last weekend IHMO (saying that now, as this means we will win the league with a game to spare going by my correct prediction history...)
  3. To an extent you are right in that there is more than one issue here, but I am commenting on the legal loop holes that they have bene allowe dto jump through - something else they fail to acknowledge as an advantage - how the feck can a New co inherit all the benefit, yet not the punishments? How can it be RIGHT (morally) that the New co get teh parachutes and not the creditors of the old co... and tw ats like corpse have the gall to come on here and say they have been hard done by... of course teh continued spending is another matter of equal moral corruption, but that does not dilute the fact that even before the current admin, the newco inheriting the parachute payments as well as teh golden share and f uck the creditors of he old co, whilst absorbing the parachutes... we had corpse say on may ocaisions how he was morally at peace because teh parachutes had been 'ring fenced' to cover teh old CVA, and we now all know what bull shiedt that is.... The fans would be innocent of all this naturally and I would have no problem in acknowledging it was not their fault if they were not so feckin stupid and morally deficient in trying defend the situation...
  4. 42 currently, Auchtermuchty, Fife First game aged 6 1975 v Forest Home as birthday treat - cup win later that season in 76 saw me getting into trouble as cutting the legs of my blue trousers to make blue shorts to go with a yellow Tshirt for a garden kick about did not go down well with Mother C... Lived near Oxford and in sussex between 1995 and 2008 and held ST from 1998 - 2008, sadly only 1 or 2 games a season now and mostly away up Nort hopefully will get to Blackpool on the 31st
  5. uhmm.. they have in effect done this already - at the last admin 2 years ago, PFC was in effect liquidated and NewCo inherited the golden share on the proviso that the old co would be subject to forensic accounting etc... this is teh biggets feckin feck up within the system as the new co (now also in admin) is no longer in effect liable for the previous CVA, nor will it be liable (unlike Luton) if any financial irregularities are uncovered in the old co (if thr forensic accounting is evne being followed up)... so in effect by liquidating the old co, the new co (current) are no longer punishable for any misdemeaners uncovered form the old co, no longer liable for teh old co CVA, yet teh new co get all the benfits of the old co in the shape of teh golden share AND the parachute payments - surely what should have happened as a prerequisite of teh golden share passing to the the new co, wa sthta ALL the parachute payments remaining automatically went to the old co to pay off its creditors.... ... and we get the f uckwit nonsensce for corpse and other portsmouth fans complaining that they did not cheat the system... fair enough they have not cheated the system, but even they with limited inteligence must recognise that this is completely against any moral or ethical code that should exist if wanting to ensure sporting integrity of the league... sadly they just dont get it. They think they are hard done by. I used to be quite sorry for them.... but the ore I see them skirm they way through the moral maze and dont see anyone acknowledging that these advanatges have benefitted the survival of the the more I want the cheating C **TS to dissapear up their own arseholes.
  6. ... nothing unexpected in the reation of some, our 'colourful' biggot Dune, and Mr 'slit your wrists' Wayman, and the more measured and analytical intelligent assessment from Derry - objective, rational and without degenerating into hysterics... Dissapointment at losing is one thing - all fair enough But FFS, do some of you forget that Adkins, and many of the squad are still in the learning process? That if/when promoted we would be 2 years ahead of schedule? Are you forgetting that there are 11-12 games left and we will see many twists and turns yet... Jeez, for me the nail biting ride is is what makes it so bloody interesting, as last season. If someone had said at the season, we would be second after 35 games, with our fate in our hands, and with a squad faces success and failure as one, I would have said they were living in fantasy land. NOthing is decided yet, its going to be tight, so grow some balls and look forward to the exciting last 7 weeks. COYRs
  7. I think (sadly) we are painting a slightly bleaker picture than in truth exists.... I think they will saty up, survive and avoid any further sanctions... whether through chinney or if not by having their debt burden reduced to a managable amount within the CVA - Birch seems to have gone quieter on the validity of Chinny's debenture, which suggests Chinney and CSI are back in the driving seat re any CVA and there is feck all HMRC or BT can do about it - Birch does not want to loose face, but seems Chinney is the opnly option - which means he gets a CVA through giving everyone else about 4p in the £1 which is perfect as it reduces some 18mil of previous CVA and HMRC debt to arround 4.5 mil, and with around 3-4 years to pay it so covered as always by the parachute payments remaining - fund teh club to the tune of a couple of mil to seasons end, sell off players in the summer and have teh club in a beter position so that he can scoop a fair few mil if the club is sold - AA an chinney are way ahead of us - just that Birch being appointed just delayed their plans ... IMHO naturally. TDCSBs will get away with it yet again - -10 points is no punishment.
  8. Difference is one of class - we think it, we know it Adkins knows it, but at th end of a match, you shake hands and walk away - then later in private sure have a wee banter moment with Adkins, afterall he was not disagreeing.... but doing it on live telly to someones back, just smacks of small man syndrome and a lack of professional respect. Warnock is one of teh first to suggest he never hgets teh respect he should be due, well with comments like that in public, I am not surprized. total p rick
  9. To be fair... as much as I want the cheats to get what is due... when all's said and done, they (WHU) played those games and got those points - and they could argue that we should now have it eassier against them (Pompey) as they have loaned out some of their regulars... I would be ****ed off if we were i WHUs shoes as well.
  10. Neimi v Villa without a doubt although some of the others come close abouth 3.25 in Makes you realise just how many points he gaijned us those seasons... looking abck to 2003-2005 fantastic keeper, Davis is superb, but Neimi for me is still one the best keepers ever - totally underated in the global sphere of things
  11. The bad is obvious -so no need tio dwell on it - learn from it and we will improve.... but there were some really good positives from this 'performance' 1. The team spirit: hwatever Adkins has done/says to them as a group or in priviate must be nothing short of miraculaous - since he arrived we are truelyy a TEAM, not just media friendly rhetoric, but it is obvious how they play for each other. 2. Control: ok bare with me on this. We looked a shambles, played diabolically at times and could not cope with the pressure Leeds put us under ( a work rate that they were bound to show the new manager)... BUT, in the past we would have panicked. Today we did not. At times the mid field passed it arround, a tactic that worked in slowing the pace and giving is respite from the onslaught.... in the past we would not have had the confidence to that when we knew we were second best on the day. 3. As Nigel might say, 'today we did not earn the right to play our game' - in truth Leeds did not let us, they were in our faces and worked extremely hard as well as. BUT again we surveived through commitment. We also on a few occaisions did try and play through tehm - perhaps obviously missing Adam, it did not come off, too often passes went astray or we were beaten to it, BUT again, no heads down, no blaming each other. All in all, there have been plenty more occasions when we have 'battered' sides (this season as well) and come away with nothing, just not our day, so Whist we did not deserve that today, we certainly deserved our share of the victory against the run of play over a season... I guess the way to look at it is 'what should our points total be if we had won the games we should have, and lost those we should have - My guess is it it would be about the same - so no guilt about todays result - part of any season. No nails left, had to have Mrs C on standby with the homemade defibrilator (piece of flex with a plug on one end) but as I said last week, at this end of teh season its all about the points - we have done enough this season to gain the plaudits for the pretty stuff we know we can play... now its about getting over that line. 12 games lads, 12 games - I think we need 8 wins to guarrantee auto, doable, most definitely. COYS - you did us proud today.
  12. FFS, we dont need to 'worry' about anyone, just look after out for our own - its in our hands - lots o0f twists to come yet as still 13 game to go so stop being such a bunch of girls about Reading ;-)
  13. Dont worry, it did... it's on this site I cant be arsed to use it - afterall its the 'teh' that allows you to know its a genuine FC post
  14. I do not want to see clubs go bust, or fans suffer unnecessarily despite our local rivalry... but sadly, there have been so many of your 'fans' that to this day feel that the club should be allowed to get away with the ridiculous financial policy that led to fleeting success and a fair amount of gloating when we struggled with fringe and low cost reserves and academy players, laughed at our -10 points and L1 status... Given the enormity of Portsmouths debt, the high rsik strategy and the aforementioned 'banter' do you really expect sympathy on here?
  15. Dear Football League Re. Maintaining the integrity of the Competition The Football League has to its long standing credit always maintained that the integrity of its league competitions is paramount and that it is vital to ensure a fair and credible competitive environment for all clubs that own their 'golden share'.It is with that in mind that I feel compelled to write and ask you to address the following questions and issues as I believe its is vital if the credibilty and integrity of the league is maintained. 1. Following Portsmouth's second administration in as amnay years, it has emerged that they have still not paid a single non secured creditor a single £1 from the CVA agreed that allowed them to exit administration the last time - yet we have heard today from their current Administrator that this CVA is in effect 'dead' and that a new CVA will have to be agreed - which is likely to result in a further dilution of the monies the original creditors will receive. Can the football league confirm that there are appropriate additional sporting sanctions in place that will result from this inabilty to service the previous CVA as originally agreed with creditors? Surely, failure to introduce additional sanctions sets a dangerous precedent in that it in effect allows clubs to take the standard 10 point penalty by entering administration, to reduce CVA payments from a previous administration, thus bypassing the existing sanctions that the Football league impose for exiting administration without a CVA in place. 2. Coventry, Nottingham Forest and Doncaster as well as other clubs currently in the Championship relegation battle, have tried to run their finances within a tight and highly restrictive budget - something that has undoubtedly contributed to their difficult seasons. They have promoted youth and academy players to their 1st team squads to avoid the wage demands of more experienced professionals and have thus been forced to make the difficult decision to potentially compromise their Championship status to avoid the financial turmoil we see at Portsmouth. Can the Football league please explain how the credibilty and integrity of the competition is being maintained by allowing Portsmouth to aquire loan players from West Bromich Albion, players with premiership experience when others can not? - Surely a fairer system would have been to allow Portsmouth only to loan players from within the Championship or lower to ensure Portsmouth were not given an unfair competitive advantage outside of the transfer and loan windows? PLeas eexplain the logic in this as to any football fan, the advantage granted to Portsmouth appears unfair and directly compromises the integrity of teh competition, in direct opposition the Football leagues own ethos? 3. Developments today and reports from the administrator of Portsmouth Football club suggest there is a possibilty that the club may not be in a position to fullfil its fixtures or be liquidated before the end of the season. Surely if there is the slightest chance that this may happen, it would be in the best interests of the competition to remove them from the competition sooner rather than later - there is a real danger that simply letting them fullfil fixtures wil impact on the integrity of the league as players and staff may struggle (understandibly so) to find the approriate motivation to compete if knowing they are to be liquidated or relagated through additioanl points deductions/sanctions before the seasons end - something that those clubs who have already played against portsmouth may rightly consider to be detrimental to their promotion/relegation battles. 4. I do not want to see clubs fail or go out of business, but for the long term interests of the game, it is perhaps almost vital that we see a high profile club given the appropriate sanctions - real and effective punishments that will act as a wake up call to all clubs who have a financial policy build on no foundation, one that is high risk and leaves the entire future of the clubs exposed. Whilst it is tough on the fans this is a club that spent 7 years in the Premier League yet spent no one penny on infrastructure, teh aging ground, youth development or training facilities, instead it racked up huge debts without a long term realistic plan to pay it back, for a fleeting success in the cup and then simply walked away owing over £80 million to non-secured creditors - who are now in a position where they are unlikely to see more than 4p in the £1 despite originally agreeing on 20p, and not yet having received a single penny - please tell me and the rest of the footballing 'family' how this is considered fair, sporting, ethical or equates to the leagues principles of 'maintaining the integrity of the competition'? I hope that in this case, the Football League have the will and strength of character to ensure this is NOT allowed to go on and that the sad situation at Portsmouth will become a lesson learned for all clubs who seek competitive advantage through high risk borrowings and enter into contracts with players well in excess of what their revenue, their fan base or infrastructure can sustain. Yours faithfully
  16. Despite being a well established member of the wise liberal elite, and therefore find some of the posts on thsi thread purile and infantile, this provided a rare coffee on keyboard moment. :-)
  17. Think you answered your own question when you said a 'lovely young girl' - go for it I say. She has been open and honest with you (which is a good start!) - Yes ther are other factors to consider, but nothing insurmountable. Be honest yourself though, and make sure you talk about your concerns. One not of caution is that if she was raped she may (likely) have additional psychological challenges ahead, especially when it comes to sex, that you also need to be aware of and be able to be supportive of. It may work out, it may not, but the same can be said for all relationships, but HIV positive should really impact on that if everything else is cool. Good luck!
  18. Thing is Alps we lost that in part (notice 'in part') because we refused as a club to go into debt to fund a squad better than the one our revenue could support. Yes there were issues with managers and bloated squads, but even during the success of 2002-2003, this was not achieved through spending money we did not have. There were frequent calls for 'investment' without any clue of where thsi should come from, woudl it be gifts of cash, equity changes, leveraged loans etc. ... and whilst we were not doing it, others were. Those that did not yo yo'ed... I do think that our reluctance to folow suit cost was always going to catch up with us eventually... So that changes the question somewhat in my eyes,, if we do go up, what will our expectations be? Will we once again be demanding NC spends fortunes to buy us that stability or even success, or will we be prepared to stay self sustainable and have the patience for the the academy to bare fruit, even if that emans yoyoing for a few seasons? There are plenty now laughing at pompety, calling them cheats etc, but all they did was spend money they did not earn to try and stay up - not too disimilar to what many fans were expecting the last time we were in the Prem.
  19. ... Thibk its a shame for someone like Lambert that he obviously was not 'spotted' as a raw talent when 22, 23 and then got to work with decent top level coaches when younger - had he doen so, think he has teh talent and physique to have been up there with a Shearer.. cant see Pearce having gone for 'youth' picking a 30 year old for his first cap... and as much as someone like Lambo deserves his moment in the spotlight simply for working so hard these last 3 seasons and getting probably into the best shape of his life... does go against the idea that we should really be developing the next generation for England now
  20. Tis teh fickle nature of all us fans - we are mostly naturally negative... thinkabout those fans of teh Arse, Man u and chelski etc, constantly moaning by 'ONLY' getting 1 trophy or finishing in the CL position... I think there are times when its sometimes better to lose 3-4 but having 'outplayed teh opposition in terms of 'real football' - afterall we do also want to be ENTERTAINED, but the last 13 or so fame sof a season when you are in with a chance of getting promoted is not one of them - now its JUST about results - we have played enough lovely football this season to feel proud that we play try and play the game in the 'right' way... so we should now be pleased that we can win ugly when conditions/opponents tactics are against us. I dont believe as some do that its always just about results - the style is for me important, but not when it comes to the crunch time. Does anyone believe the Spanish were 'disappointed' because they beat Holland in the WC final without being able to play their best game... because the Dutch made it ugly? 3-0 away from home on a crap pitch against a side that have shown they can mix it up is a great result.
  21. Could be a good day - right parallels with last season.... Saints best footballing side in the league, West Ham playing teh Vrightin role, not a bad side but with a manager who thinks they are better than anyone else , is full of ****e and seem to win quite a few by a single goal, yet always moaning - then we have Brum and Reading in the Hudders role... we keep winning, and its there for the taking.... come on!
  22. Indeed, whilst its clear that away fans are loyal followers and great for the side, from the clubs perspective, if its between 2000 extra at home v 2000 away, home fans is where the loyalty points is at.... afterall Tesco clubcard does not give you anything let alone double points for shopping at Sainsbury's....
  23. Fact is though something you buy at teh club ticket or otherwise = revenue; away tickets dont, so dont be surprized to still see highest priority for all games even away games going to ST holders as they make the biggest financial contribution to the.... and given we want the club to spend money on players etc, can you really argue with that?
  24. There is also the liability issue as a Landlord - whether formally contracted or not, you are still considered the eye of the law as I understand it - so if your boiler broke down, chucked Carbon monoxide or and killed a tennent - major jail term etc. seriously it would be seriously stupid - do it properly, get a decent letting agency involved and you have full piece of mind and cover. Yes there are probably loads of folk doing this, but its why take such risks for £90?
  25. Thing is I do think football administration IS very different from a normal business - principly because the assets that ahve book value (players) have NO value when a club is liquidated and their value as assets decreases both with reduction in contract term and relegation etc... So for Birch, the best value he can possibly hop for shareholders is the clubs stays in business - and ideally in the highest league position, thus in theory teh better revenue will enable more cash for creditors (or in pompeys case more cash for more players - boom boom) - Its why we see them all spouting the same ****** at some point about 'interests of the club at heart' ... 'everything possible to ensure a secure future for the club and its fans'' - which is of course total ****** as they really mean, 'the only way creditors get anything is if we generate more revenue and stay alive, reduce costs' yes, but there does come a threshold when reducing costs to the point of relegation etc - reduces the potential for the creditors to see any cash - So I guess we shoudl be prepared for more fan friendly rhetoric from Birch - dont forget as well that attracting a buyer is also about confidence - look how teh mythical 'best fans in teh world' has taken hold in teh public perception.. say it enough times and teh ignorant believe it...
