I stumbled across the end of this game on TV last night...if anyone doesn't know ESPN is free to Freeview viewers this weekend...and I'm sure he's realised by now how sh*te the English experience really is...sh*te football, sh*te atmosphere. The Cesena fans were bouncing all round the ground last night...I bet he was feeling a little homesick.

The Good Old Days - but would you want them back?

Until the mid/late 70s we used to stand under the 'Toomers' but the Milton was slowly changing and not for the better. Many had already migrated over to the lower West next to where the players came out. That was probably the best vocal area (and where John Bailey first got hammered which quickly spread all over every time he turned up..."Bailey come and he wanna go home!"). The last game our little mob stood in the Milton was Sunderland at home in the poring rain (think it may have been on MOTD...a Divison 2 game back then!), when suddenly (and I know some on here will be offended) it all kicked off up the Archers. It was the first time the infamous 'Warrens' made their presence felt up there and we knew that's where we wanted to be from then on. From then onwards it was Archers only, sometimes stood on the wall at the back if we could squeeze in amongst the 'Warrens' lot and join in with their "We are Warrens, we are Warrens, Super Warrens, Poundtree Road......." (to the tune of Millwall's 'No one likes us"). And then later to lower East. 'appy, 'appy days. -
Deaf and Dumb Tony with the Millwall butcher's coat. Speaking of Millwall, we played them (back in the 70s) on a night game when the fog descended and just got thicker and thicker. Can't remember now but it must have been abandoned, we could barely see the Milton goal from under the 'Toomers' let alone the other end! I'm sure the OB got a little nervous suddenly losing sight of 'Harry the Dog' and his surgical masked mob.

In full swing... ...'appy days. -
Just goes to show some of the drama queens on here should all take a deep breath before getting too carried away. Keep an open mind and some could do with growing one of these... The amount of backtracking that's been going on around these parts in recent weeks is comical.

Didn't we larf when someone said that about Strach some time back...
-
...and he's Scottish...

Kevin Keegan in the Layby with the Baseball Bat. ...or Zola/Clarky...either'll do. Wednesday 11am. (probably be some unknown Itie from Serie B)
-
With Kevin Keegan?

The only bugger is we aint got a reserve squad. We've got an U21s but if you're a fringe player/cover and you're of a certain age (ie over 21) you aint been playing competitive football. Not ideal when you're suddenly called for first team football.
-
Nah, not after what he done when the mancs sent us down from the Prem...and he's turning it around at Ipswich so wont leave...I'm holding out for the Zola/Steve Clarke combo... Oh, btw, WIFM.

Lip smacking, thirst quenching, ace tasting, motivating, good buzzing, cool talking, high walking...............drama queening, wrist slashing, pillow biting, hysterical tarting, gullible fizzy-head saints fans. Get a grip FFS.

I reckon this is just a 'red herring', how exactly do 'Paul Hart teams' fit in with this scintillating football "The Southampton Way" ideal courted by Cortese? We just need to sit back and see what happens, they've managed to keep most player signings completely under wraps til now. We've got too many drama queens around here, the ones that would probably have been calling for Pardew's head had we lost Saturday but who's world has ended since he's gone. Shame but...next...

I'd be content with Zola. I'm sure he's learnt some valuable lessons after being dumped in the deep end of a failing Premier League club. Dropping down a couple of divisions to start again would be good for him and us IMO. I'd be equally happy with Mowbray and excited, however long it lasted, with Keegan. Any of those names at a third division club would be more than acceptable for me. Whoever it is gets my support.
-
Caption competition?...so what was Pards really saying here on Saturday... "Oi mate, yeah you, can ya phone me a taxi?"
-
Cheeky. Cortese is no doubt gonna cop a lot of stick over this I hope some don't go too far. I'd hate to give the 'Liebherrs' reason to pull out. At least Cortese now gets his way, let's hope it's an inspired appointment that brings this scintallating football we all crave. Thanks AP. Keegan anyone?

TBF they were very good and the missus certainly perked up when they came on...the dirty ol' bird's old enough to be their mother.
-
TBF that's only a snapshot of about 10% of the Saints support at Brizzol yesterday...the other 90% are far uglier...
-
...and we shouldn't forget a "ginger" by the name of Alan Ball who came at a similar stage of his career and made a pretty big impact on this club. IF Butt signed for us it would be a very big signing at this level. I'd suggest CB's comment was a big tongue-in-cheek moment at the original poster.
-
I'd say that's a rear shot...she's got an exceptionslly small arse. C'mon Saints btw.
-
I'm guessing you were using the "foul mouthed" c-word there?
-
Nice to see a few of these around the stadium today Now if I can just get the missus out of bed.....

Nah, gotta be 'Hey Jude'... "La, la, la, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la... La, la, la, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la..."
