Back in the news again...well, the Echo http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/15528708.Saints_fans_launch_campaign_urging_officials_to_introduce_standing_at_St_Mary_s/ And some of those comments from the fingers-in-their-ears thickos...

A rare (but pathetic) show of aggression by a mere handful at the back of the Northam/Kingsland corner. I'd prefer my atmosphere a bit more gnarly but we just don't do it very well. A trip to St Mary's must be viewed as a walk in the park for visitors these days, not much of a challenge on the pitch and what must be the least intimidating environment around it. Watford fans had some pretty good loud chants, we were just happy-clacky, can't remember a single chant of note once they scored.
-
Not how it should be - the traditional type of 'supporter' lift their team, unfortunately, not the 'Southampton Way'. We now have a team that suitably reflects our support; lightweight, timid and far too polite. The Northam has now diminished to a few right at the back making some half-hearted effort, I think there was only one attempt of a chant...of our only song...by a handful in the Itchen North yesterday, the rest of the atmosphere these days is supplied by the dreaded clackers and the visitors. 2-3,000 away fans easily drown out the other 29,000 home 'supporters'. The players efforts are constantly disappointing the fans, but the players are entitled to be as disappointed with the fan's support.

You're right of course but I was talking more personally, we like to make a day of it and drink in central London before moving on to the game. My info was probably more useful for like-minded types.

This 'deal' looks like it's a load of old ******, I've found nothing available on the promotion for a number of dates I've put in. Best I've seen for Palace (without a Railcard) is Southampton Central to Victoria £12.00 leaving at 9.13am, returning Victoria to Soton £8.50 18.36. Only ballsache is nearly 2 1/2hr trip both ways!
-
On the bench for Palace away at a guess.

Hopefully D*ick Advocaat has had a word in VvD's ear, I'm sure he's desperate for him and Hoedt to be playing regular and building a partnership alongside each other. To our benefit too, hopefully.

"They're magic, you'll seeeeeeeeee, Tadic and Gab'adiniiiiiiiiii" Nice thought, got me doubts - one of 3 similar talented but frustrating players we have. Watford, decent side, another draw on the cards.
-
It is indeed, his head appears to already be in Liverpool rather than Chelsea. I wonder if he...I mean his dad...has been tapped up by anyone? Now if VvD does go this window, let's hope Chelsea come in to get their revenge on the snidey scousers.

More the angst of a a skate still agitated that he spurned his home town club to play for those "faaackin' scuuummerrrrrs....loike"

Just had another peep on a Lazio forum and post #2148 will get a few of our more excitable/gullible types dribbling, pure speculation on the posters part I may add! http://forum.lazioland.com/index.php/topic,2975.2140.html

I perused a Lazio forum a few days ago to get a feel from their perspective as tbh I'd never heard of the bloke until recently. The general feeling I got was that they rate him as good cover right now, someone who will improve with more games. It was also said that he'd be more suited to the English game as he struggles playing in a 3 over there, great in the air, dangerous at set pieces but not the quickest feet. Appears some would prefer to keep him but getting £15m is a good deal for Lazio. They're more concerned with Keita Balde's attitude and likely departure, bit of a VvD thing going on over there.

As you say, no real revelations, I suspect most, like myself, are just putting their trust in Kat Liebherr genuinely knowing something different and doing the right thing. The Liebherrs and Gaos are obviously successful business people and buying SFC has proved very lucrative thanks to Markus' foresight and to Kat's benefit. I believe they've always wanted to make Southampton a success for the the fans but I still think the potential for development around the stadium was also a big draw. It's yet to come to that and I guess they've already done well enough to now move on and leave enough of a carrot for the future buyers where real money can still be made. And I guess the Gaos have also acquired that potential goldmine of land at Jacksons Farm outside the city that the club own? It's probably not just about SFC.

That we all paid for...the ungrateful b'stards.

TBF, any Saints fan could probably repeat that word perfect to describe our thoughts on West Ham.

Just a handful remaining.

I feel you may have misunderstood my sarcastic intentions...

"Look Virg, we know you've got 4 years on your contract and you're looking to get away shortly, and we don't need to pay you any more up until you go but...wtf, we'll give you another 30-40k a week, extend that contract anyway so you'll make a killing if you don't have to put in a transfer request, so you pop off and make all the arrangements with the scousers. Go and enjoy yourself, have a few days in the Vegas of the north with Klippity our best wishes, go on..."
-
Why, where are you going? Going for the old favourite, 3-1, couple for Gabby.

I aint paying a fiver to post on a bleedin' football forum but the lack of edit facility is ****

It's a minimum 10% of capacity up to 3,000 for League games, anything over 3,000 is down to the individual club. At St Mary's I believe the club give slightly over the max due to where the under-stand segregation is to keep rivals apart on the concourse - the area includes over 3,200 seats but any segregation (over the seats) comes out of the away allocation so the (if max) visitors figure is usually between 31,500-3,200. Seems weird the Swansea OS are saying "3,400" as that would include Saints ST holder seats!

This must be that famous scouse humour we're never hearing about... AOBL

Chim-chiminey, Chim-chiminey Chim-chim-cheree, Van Dijk is a **** Now f*ck off to Chelsea/City* (delete as appropriate) Chim-chiminey, Chim-chiminey Chim-chim-cheroo, Klippity Klopp He aint coming to you... or we could just ignore the greedy **** and move on

[video=youtube;j5-ZPTbRAGg] It took just 6 months from extending and improving his already lucrative contract to suddenly deciding he wanted even more and then the next 6 with his feet up. He should start by paying back the extra 12 months salary he cheated from us. Greedy b'stard.
-
Yep, loads sold quickly to Season Ticket holders with 4 aways, gonna be a few disappointed fans again. Tried looking on their site to see if they're selling seats in the adjacent blocks to home fans and gauge if we could possibly get more or not but you have to be registered. Why we don't just hold off for as long as possible before making a decision on extra allocations, I dunno?
