I'd agree it was prudent of the club not to take the full allocation on offer in the current climate, but it would have been a lot more than 15% as the option was the usual PL allocation or the entire end. I can't see any problem shifting what we've got and, no doubt, if we get a good performance against the scallies this weekend they'll be plenty berating the club as many more will fancy West Brom but they'll be no tickets left.

Nathan Redmond, he has been training with them.

When would you have pulled the trigger on Pellegrino?
alehouseboys replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
They didn't get who they really wanted and then they fell into the tap of believing the hype of this revolutionary 'Southampton Way' blueprint. Afterall, they'd previously amazed the footballing world with this never-ending *ahem* supply of young footballers from the academy and how they'd unearthed this little known Argie manager from an unfashionable Spanish club who transformed us almost overnight and who now has progressed to the point of being headhunted by Real Madrid. So cue little-known-Argie-from-unfashionable-Spanish-club MkII (he even had the same initials and his name was almost the same!) to jump in and save the day. What could possibly go wrong? For Les & Co. to now have to sack this fella is a big egg-on-the-face moment. -
And 'not a ****ing chance' there was nearly 6,000 empty seats either.
-
No they don't, initial allocation is sell or return, additional allocations are paid for where it hits them if not all sold. We've sold around 2,500 for this, boycotting away games aint the answer.
-
They're expecting their first sell-out for a few years (although we've sold around 2,500, a few hundred short) their fans are bang up for it and predicting a big atmosphere, the club are whipping it up and there's a Cyrille Regis tribute before kick-off. http://wbaunofficial.org.uk/showthread.php?tid=12397 Last night had to be 3 points, massive pressure on this clash of the bottom 2 now. Still, we could gone down in history as the side relegated with the best bench ever. Sack him today, lift the fanbase and sell the last few tickets to give us a chance.

I've got a feeling this will go through about 5 mins before the window slams shut, who can blame Spartak for holding out? It's their under-contract player who they don't need to sell but know we're probably desperate to sign, they've got us by the minerals. If we don't budge enough on our current offer they could very well wait to last-minute and then accept it and say 'can't blame us for trying'.
-
Yep, the replay was a fantastic night. We'd taken something like 10,000 up to West Brom for the first match, would think we could have around 5k for this one. Winnable.

Na na na na Na na na na Hey hey hey It's Carillo For those 2 goals alone at Nottm Forest, Mickey Evans was a kinda hero.
-
Then we can only hope Carillo has taken this onboard and is determined to ram it back down his Gallic throat. In an ideal world.

Car-ril-lo, woah-ho, Car-ril-lo, woah-ho-ho-ho. He came from Monaco He loves Pel-le-grino Car-ril-lo, woah-ho, Car-ril-lo, woah-ho-ho-ho. And will he have to go, When we sack Pel-le-grino?

The directors box is surrounded by corporate types, any angst will hardly be in their face. If we're getting rinsed on the pitch, 80% of the home fans that are usually polite and timid will still just grunt under their breath or walk out and any booing from the Northam/Itchen North will be easily drowned out by celebrating away fans. OWTSpurs will be ringing loudest around St Mary's.
-
I don't know what's going to be more embarrassing next Sunday, the vandalising we're going to get on the pitch, our 'protests' off it (a handful in the Northam) or dopey Donald from Dorset and Wally from Wiltshire outside after, crying for the Sky cameras.

You're right, and the Geordies did it well

I reckon the club will realistically target 5 - draws (at best) at Watford/WBA, beat Brighton, lose to Spurs. Another big away following that will be in Pellegrino's right ear again the moment we sit back/poor subs. Bit surprised we haven't revived the old 70s classic chant Attack, Attack, Attack-Attack-Attack!" Simple, yet effective...and very good advice.

"...we won't be able to complete any significant signings in January because the pledges won't be here til Feb...." Where's Ralph...I mean Redslo these days?

Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor
alehouseboys replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
To be fair, Virgin are probably wondering what the f*ck they've done to get involved with us! -
That would be some business if all that happened, particularly after we'd paid 10% to Celtic, all the usual fees (greedy b'stard agents, etc.), compo for MP's assistants and possibly our new owner buying the rest of Kat's shares. Better sell another one.

"Come on You Spurs............?"
-
Van Dijk would suit City very well imo and then once Stones is fit, he'd be VvD's back-up.
-
Not if, as previously suggested, he left weeks ago.

But what if part of that brownfield site they'd like to develop is occupied by a football stadium? That's potentially a lot of lucrative apartments. Cheap out-of-town replacement, even smaller capacity if we get relegated, easy money Alternatively, they might have forked out over £200m to make us the new Man United in China :p
