  1. If the stats show we had 60+% possession, 1 shot (off target) and we spent the game knocking it back/sideways then you'd have a point. But if we do lose or draw but we're seeing effort and drive then Hughes has had an effect. We're desperate for 3 points but so are WHU, a win is still a big ask.
  2. The Supporters Trust Groups of the clubs involved have joined together to protest but I think we all know how much effect that will have on the rich greedy b'stards running the game. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/47776/semi-finalist-fan-groups-issue-joint-statement-on-ticket-prices
  3. 'heels' ...f'kin spellchecker!
  4. London Bridge/Borough Market and Liverpool St will be popular as usual, easy to hop on the tube to Stratford. Millwall are playing Forest on Friday so won't have to contend with any potential around LB...although Millwall will be kicking their hills on the Saturday!
  5. The point really is about the club strangely returning tickets, I'm not chasing one myself, if I was I would just sport my nice Kimono/Dr Martin's combo and do as Whitey suggests. ROR.
  6. It's not like they need them for home supporters, several thousand Gooner ST holders aren't bothering to turn up now as it is, I would imagine Arsenal very gently leaned on our club and asked for some tickets back so they could sell on to the waiting Japanese tourists and our knees buckled at the first attempt.
  7. I'm going to give this a bump as again just seen an update on the UI. As the run was cancelled last weekend IT will now proceed as below - deserves attention and will now end at the Saints/WHU game. Give him a cheer if not a donation. Where do I start!!! Today’s Brentwood half marathon was cancelled due to the inclement weather and will not be rescheduled. I took all the donations on the premise that I would do the forfeits I put in place. So I will honour them all. So now on Saturday 31st March, I will run a much more dangerous route from Cold Blow Lane to the Olympic Stadium via the New Den and the Boleyn ground wearing full West Ham kit and having claret and blue dyed hair. I will do crosses hammers at the finish where I will meet up with some of Isla’s fundraisers and then take in the West Ham v Southampton game I’ll be surprised if I don’t get a whack from someone along the route, more so through Millwall territory in Bermondsey!! I hope this will satisfy all of those who have donated. Wish me luck, I need it!! I thank you all once more for your incredible support https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tony-munday3
  8. Just seen this on the UI, I'm sure you'll agree a very worthy cause and worth highlighting - justgiving page at end of message. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/forum/219622/i-come-in-peace!!!-cancer-has-no-colours/#18 #Cancer has no colours Firstly hello all and I hope it is ok with the moderators to post this. My name is Tony Munday, I am a 49 year old unfit Millwall supporter (someone has to be) who is heading for the knackers yard. On Sunday March 18th I am running the Brentwood half marathon on behalf of a 3 year old little girl called Isla Caton who is suffering from the same horrible disease that took Bradley Lowery the boy who captured the nations hearts. The disease is Neuroblastoma and the treatment for this is only available in America. On Tuesday young Isla had an operation to move a tumour from her brain and now goes back to chemo treatment to clear the cancer. Through the Bradley Lowery foundation the family need to raise £400,000. Here’s the catch. Isla Caton is born into a staunch West Ham family and as a Millwall supporter I am using this as leverage to raise as much money for her as possible. The rivalry between the two clubs is huge and I pray they lose every week. I set my original target at £1000 and declared I would run in a West Ham shirt if reached. Due to having many West Ham friends who I have wound up over the years I reached the £1000 in 24 hours. I added targets £2000 to run in full kit £3500 to do crossed hammers at finish line £7000 to run with dyed claret and blue hair I’ve topped the £7000 so the hair will be dyed, but I’m gonna raise the target again to £12,000 as this girl needs as much as possible. The Bradley Lowery foundation is a marvellous tribute to the sadly missed youngster. Normally I wouldn’t even look at a West Ham kit let alone wear one but I’m prepared for the stick I’ll get for the rest of my life so this amazing little girl gets what she needs. My pain will be nothing compared to what she is going through. It’s a very small sacrifice for me to make. I am joining forums of all 92 league clubs to post this message and hoping the football family come together to help smash this target and help send this incredibly brave little girl to America to save her life by donating to my just giving page. In my eyes cancer has no colours especially in children. Isla’s twitter address is @islasfight, feel free to look and see what she’s going through Here is my just giving page below, hopefully you will find it in your hearts to donate to the cause through my run. Forget the £7,000 target lets smash it to as much as possible, this angel deserves a chance at life I thank you all so much in advance https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tony-munday3
  9. He is an ex-skate. He has ceased to be.
  10. That's strange because the OS have been saying we had an allocation of 4,600 and as of lunchtime today it was showing there was less than 180 tickets left. Guess the difference is unused staff/comp tickets?
  11. For me, everyone gets a clean slate now, there's probably a decent player in there with Redmond with the right coaching. FFS, Koeman had Longy playing like a world-beater when he came back from injury and was crowned Player of the Season for the 4 months he appeared that season! Hopefully shackles off for some players now.
  12. Just read on one of their forums that apparently, since sacking Pellegrino and appointing Hughes we've sold another 1,000 tickets and now we all think we'll have "no bother" beating them. There was only a few hundred left before we sacked Pellegrino and I don't think there's too many that think Sunday will be "no problem", we've no doubt improved our chances but we need to see how this bunch of players react and try to remember where the back of the net is. He's not my first choice but now gets my 100% backing, altogether now "We're on the March with Hughesy's Army..."
  13. There were only about 3 rows left empty for Man City fans but they did have netting over the front sections in the home stands. We had the front rows when we last visited, maybe it's after the issues they had with the moody mancs in the last round. Around 4,000 up there that day and conceded a...typical...89th equaliser.
  14. A night out on the town with Brighton fans then, they've sold 4,500 of a 5,500 allocation, so taking similar numbers to us. Wigan have a big game tonight, a Lancs/Yorks derby away at Bradford, they're still going for 'The Double' (promotion/Cup) and after their 3 PL scalps so far will probably see this as their easiest FA Cup game so far. *Trying not to think of Tranmere and Sheff Utd away cup games*
  15. Did his car back-fire and the doors blow off as he drove away from St Mary's? Nah, seemed a nice guy buy nice guys ain't no good as football managers, particularly in the PL. Out of his depth but much of the blame still sits on the shoulders of those further up to employ him in the first place and let letting it go this far.
  16. About 7-800 tickets left for when they go on General Sale tomorrow, guess tonight's news has now made them hot property. "We're on the march with [insert name here]'s Army, we're all going to......"
  17. Wigan tickets go on sale to Members tomorrow and there's little over a 1,000 tickets remaining, so these have already moved pretty quickly despite everything. As bad as it is I don't think we'd have any problem shifting semi-final tickets. And if you're still looking at going on a coach to Wigan but don't fancy the bingo buses try these http://southamptonawaytravel.co.uk/cup-fixtures/fa-cup/wigan-athletic/ these have a decent reputation...if you have to do a coach.
  18. was For saying things when he Pellegrino unveiled like he was chosen after a “diligent selection process" (not a last minute appointment because no one else would come here). He followed that with praising Pellegrino's "commitment to attacking football had made him the standout candidate". He went on, "Mauricio believes with the quality we have we can play exciting, attacking football, taking the game to our opponents by playing a high-intensity game". It was obvious from the off, he was nothing like it, more the opposite. Even if Reed genuinely believed the style would change after settling in by November if was clear, tedious possession football was Pellegrino's way. Reed should have swallowed his pride, held up his hands and gone to the owner and admitted his disastrous mistake. It probably is too late but replace this guy now and it will galvanise a disallusioned fanbase in readiness for a tough run-in. Go down with a bit of fight and you might just hold on to a few more fans in the Championship.
  19. I don't think they sell the front rows of seats at Wigan, nice opportunity for banners. Keep 'em clean...ish.
  20. Looks like it's all red then, that'll please the Chinese.
  21. True, but the 'roar' disappeared from English ground years ago, attacking the Chapel in silence aint a new thing, even when we used to attack! Ah, memories..........
  22. This is it. Just make some noise, any noise. Where has that roar gone from football stadiums? When teams used to attack it seemed the whole ground would roar the side forward. When home teams got a corner the fans would put massive pressure and intimidation on visiting defences (most effective in northern grounds back in the day, the times I witnessed Saints players crumble!). To sit inside St Mary's now at watch us attack, the Chapel in particular, in almost complete silence is baffling. Walk in the park for visiting teams these days.
  23. Of course lower league prices are always going to be cheaper (the skates pay similar low prices) but when I had a nose around Stoke sites last week I noticed they're offering Adult Season Tickets for next season ranging from just under £300 to around £350. They also provide free coach travel to every away game and buses to the stadium for home games. And they're not the cheapest. If Ralph still insists we're now a "small club" he should be charging the same as other "small" Premier League sides. Burnley fans pay £21 for an adult seat.
  24. That's more than I would have thought after 2 days of a heavily restricted sale, probably suggests it will sell out to ST holders and Members, may not make reach General Sale.
  25. I think it's partly financial (they've sp*nked so much on inadequate signings already) but mostly face-saving. They've got tangled up in the hype and publicity of 3 or 4 years ago, they wanted to be seen as unearthing another little-known managerial gem in Puel (the "famous" black box has done it again!) but when that didn't work, eventually, took another gamble on Pellegrino. Come on, they'd done it with Pochettino, this new guy even had the same initials, was an Argie and even had his teams playing the same "high-press/attacking" way...oh. To sack him so soon would really look like they don't really know what they're doing.
