  1. "Gerry" heavily involved in this little beauty
  2. We all beat our disgruntled gums for a bit but usually end up going back but I do think this year will see a big drop in ST numbers. A few wins and the past 2 seasons will quickly be forgotten. For a bit.
  3. Rumours have been there since early May, reported in several places https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6229169/southampton-ace-dusan-tadic-wanted-by-ajax-if-mark-hughes-side-are-relegated-from-premier-league/ May be we've beaten Liverpool and Spurs to sign Ziyech and this is the sweetener.............*tumbleweed*
  4. He swung his arm back deliberately, the Tunisian made the most of it, but his elbow could have done a bit of damage - penalty imo.
  5. To add: a: That trip to Milan was the dog's danglies b: Turgid boring football c: Greedy prima-donna footballers getting greedier and............well, top flight football in general really.
  6. They've shown the controversial 'penalty' moments on BBC Breakfast this morning and when you see the grapple in the second half from behind it clearly shows the ref's position, it's in his immediate eye line. If he's giving their keeper a free kick for jumping into a striker heading a ball then he can't be trusted making the big decisions. Questions certainly should to be asked over the point of VAR operators.
  7. Gone again now. Another red-herring?
  8. That's just brought back memories of the 1974 WC Finals with the likes of Haiti and Zaire both losing all games including massive defeats of 7 and 9 goals. And that free kick Zaire v Brazil, although it was said the Africans and their families were on death threats from their president if they got heavily beaten again. Luckily, and surprisingly, the Brazilians only stuck a couple past them.
  9. They've got one of Europe's busiest international airports on their doorstep, Gatwick is little over 20 miles straight up the M23, I'd say that's a massive advantage they'd have. But if the opportunity came about to bid I think the powers at SFC would see it as a catalyst to upgrade the stadium tied in with the future development of the surrounding area and waterfront. You wouldn't be able to move with the amount of brown envelopes knocking around.
  10. Or just a change of shorts. No doubt The9 will be along shortly to explain why this isn't possible due to mix of fabric or type of stitch used.
  11. Has he been seen at Southampton airport yet..................................?
  12. Although, if this really is an 'official' official UA website in HK... https://www.underarmour.hk/en/search?searchWord=southampton Guess they'd like to get it out there ready for the China tour.
  13. 'Third' shirt photoshopped.
  14. Are they still trying to move the 2022 World Cup to our winter?
  15. Getting closer https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44362522 https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/safe-standing-moves-closer-to-green-light-9vfvpzgc2
  16. OK, it was him making a mess of the first effort (ouch!) but I'm willing to give him a break for what he did next in a memorable night at the home of the scallies. I'm happy to remember that from his days here when he goes.
  17. Don't hold your breath over SFC getting involved - this Councillor's words from the Echo comments prove the club are showing little interest. "Thank you for all of the supportive comments for the Safe Standing campaign. I brought the Safe Standing Roadshow to Southampton, and to the Daily Echo, so that people can see for themselves what Safe Standing looks like. And the comments in response show that the vast majority of fans support the idea. Sadly the Chairman and the Board, and staff, of the current owners of Southampton FC, did not attend. And they did not agree to hold the Safe Standing Roadshow at St. Mary's Stadium. I did ask them in correspondence I had with Mr Krueger. If you haven't already, please sign the petition to the owners of Southampton FC, here: https://www.change.org/p/chairman-ralph-krueger-safe-standing-for-southampton-fans-at-st-mary-s-stadium I regularly post updates to everyone who has signed. And you can stay in touch at the Southampton Independents Facebook page and on our website at sotonindies.org. Thanks again." Councillor Andrew Pope Southampton Independents
  18. Southampton 1 Liverpool 0 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/16256545.Owen_claims_national_crown/
  19. Best trip to St Mary's for a bit of entertainment for quite some time. The Stones were as good as they've ever been, great way to spend an evening.
  20. Looks like old Paddy's been a bit rinsed in the comments section.
  21. Probably not from the club's perspective. They'll hope to get 2 good years out of Hughes, cross fingers he's a success and then demand a fee for him when he moves to, say, someone like Everton.
  22. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/16252672.READER_LETTER____39_Southampton__39_s_safe_standing_campaign_should_hang_their_heads_in_shame__39_/ Some people just don't want to understand what 'Safe Standing' is all about.
  23. Nice to see this finally put to bed, manager sorted, let the player shenanigans begin.
