Only around 70 tickets left, bit surprised the last couple of hundred right in the corner went so quickly as most will have held back to try and grab the better more central seats as soon as they go on sale. Presuming SFC ask for the extra allocation that is...
-
I've heard rumours he went a couple of weeks back, puzzling why the club have held back with an official statement. He's just waiting for Pellegrino to get the push and then he's coming back in a 'Tartan-Dream-Team' with Strachan. Thankfully, that bit is fake news.

That's the block we'll get if we ask for more, looking likely now as well on the way to selling out in just a couple of days (despite Wednesday night!) really just a few odd seats in P6 and part of P7 remaining. P1 would be the neutral bit as P2 is on sal to home fans - will look strange if we fill every block bar the one for home fans who'll be surrounded.
-
*If* we sold him for £70m, I'd guess around a third of that will go on Celtic's sell-on, agents fees, etc. Then it would be up to the man in charge how much he'd release of what would be remaining for strengthening. Hopefully there is already a 'pot' with some left in from the summer.

It was the old power station and imminent Pirelli factory coming down that first started talks of a possible site for a new stadium (mid-late 70s) and it got as far as actual 3D models being constructed and put on public view in the Civic Centre library. There were 3 varying designs on show (I went in and saw them), the biggest one had a capacity of around 50,000, and it was just a case of everyone agreeing and how it was going to be paid for. That, like Stoneham, was where it all went Pete Tong. I can't believe there's no photos somewhere in the archives (never seen any even where talk of a new stadium surfaced years later)

The first time I went there was on a Friday night back in the promotion year of 1978 in the old second division. Well, me and 10,000 other Southampton fans. 1-1 that day.

Just the job. Short trip, great day out with loads of decent pubs around and about, should get the whole end 5-6k.

Looks like Pep suddenly realised he could be in a bit of trouble there (well he would if he managed anyone outside the top 6). Bit unprofessional and ungracious in the circumstances losing it at an oppo player the way he did, and not far off an assault when he swung his arm around Redmond's neck. At least our player had the good sense to put his hand over his mouth as he called him a c*nt.

0-2, lost it in midfield. Hope I'm wrong.

They've sold out well over 3,000 for the match down here on Sunday, despite being absolute sh*te (just like us) and live on national TV. One thing you can't knock them for is excellent travelling support. If the fixture was reversed this weekend and on the box we'd struggle for a thousand.
-
If you are including Hoedt in that 3 then we have to hope the Lazio fans were wrong in their suggestions that the main reason he couldn't regularly get into their side was that he struggled to adapt to their preferred 3 at the back. I recall reading on their forum when we were in the process of signing him that they felt he would be far more suited to the English game playing as one of a pair of CBs.

I bet Virgin are wondering what they've done. When they signed a long sponsorship deal with SFC we were flavour-of-the-moment, a real threat/pain-in-the-arris to the 'Big 6' and "blue print for all other clubs". Not to mention European hopefuls. It's been downhill all the way ever since!! Two years of mostly shocking, turgid football - you have to give credit where it's due, Kat's played a blinder with her timing.
-
He'll likely miss kick-off as he's apparently house-hunting in the area.

That's handy, still got one post left. You're the one talking "shyte" - I said "their manager", you twisted it, we were talking solely about Brendan Rodgers. As you know really, it was nothing to do with their previous. That is my third, so you carrying on talking "shyte" now uninterupted.
-
Massive salary increase, stepping stone to Premier League and then quickly onto bigger and massive incoming transfer fees for Celtic who can easily replace and still retain the title and cups with out the Wanyamas, Forsters, etc. Their manager will have his sites set on something bigger than Southampton in the near future They are crap outside their league, but they're winning everything in it, as good as it gets right now - but I still believe they'll be part of a European Super League soon. Anyways, my opinion, 3 posts and out.

I've got to agree, when I've read some posts suggesting we just 'go get Rodgers', I'm thinking some of our fans are nearly as deluded as the f*ckwits down the road. Does anyone really think he'd just walk out on Celtic for Southampton? First off, he's a fan, he's at (in size/stature) one of the biggest clubs in the world winning the title, other trophies and playing in the CL each season. Nearly 60K passionate and noisy fans at most home games, thousands (or as many tickets as they're allowed) for away games and loads year after year around Europe (although we did take more than them to Israel ). For the money alone the Premier League is the holy grail for top managers but I don't think Southampton, or anyone else outside the top 6/7 clubs in England will be a next destination for the Irishman. I think Pellegrino will be around a bit longer yet but Bendan Rodgers aint my cup of tea anyway.

Nice thought that there may be a change of direction from what we've mostly 'suffered' in recent seasons but can't help feeling, is this the best moment. The dull, cautious approach that we have been using (against the mighty Watfords, Brightons, Burnleys of this world) may very well be far more suited to the likes of what we've coming coming up over the next several weeks. I'm all for giving Pellegrino time, he at least deserves a Jan transfer window, but a change in playing style is long over due, just hope our defensive unit holds strong if we're planning on being a bit more adventurous. When's Lemina back? :preyingthingymajig:

https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-11-03/preview-craig-fleming-u18s-pl-cup-saints-norwich "Overall performances have been good, win lose or draw, I haven't seen a drop in tempo," Fleming said, reflecting on the past couple of results. "Obviously we want to win, but we want to do that the Southampton way. We've been making the boys aware of running themes, one is being clinical in front of goal. They've tightened up on it and realised that scoring goals is just as important as defending well. Can someone remind the first team about this "much admired/blueprint for so many clubs" 'Southampton Way'?

You're being generous, it was actually a humiliating 7-0. We also lost 2-5 at home to Man U that season, lowlights of a very poor year, just avoiding relegation. Season before we finished 7th, season after improved slightly before another yo-yo 73-74 when we finally dropped. Shankley called us the "Alehouse Brawlers", that's when I first really got into it...that was gonna be my moniker originally when I signed up a long time ago to this forum but, even then, we had some right snowflakes on here and didn't want to upset 'em so toned it down
-
That was just to boost some very worrying slow season tickets sales for the club. With the numbing football on offer and a progressively dull fanbase, they might not get away with it next time. Ain't much fun right now.

You're obviously taking th p*ss...the only walking we've done is around midfield for most of this season. Hopefully things are changing with Lemina now so influential aand if we start using Boufal to his full potential. Although with tough upcoming fixtures I can't see Pellegrino changing too much from the previous cautious approach.

Yeah, but, by the end of the second game they were as fed up with it as much as us 'the ****hampton fans singing their stupid theme song towards the end of the game, and the announcer "Wow what a great soundtrack to end off this game." Like really?' http://forzainterforums.com/showthread.php?13722-Southampton-vs-Inter-(3-Nov-16)/page23 Wonder if they'll be doing a 'One year ago today' on the 3rd Nov?
