  1. Baker Street area will be very popular with Mancs as well our lot, they'll be flooding in from all corners. Get there early.
  2. I know we all fookin' hate 'em but don't keep banging on about some noddy little Division 4 upstarts. We're in a major cup final, the 'p' word shouldn't ever be uttered amongst the big boys.
  3. Come on, credit where it's due, they've just won a game in the fourth division against...ah...mmmm....oh.... Accrington Stanley? Whoadey?
  4. More realistically 2, they'll rest most against Blackburn in the cup.
  5. "They're magic, you know, Tadic and our Manolo" That is a big win today in more ways than one!
  6. You raise some very valid and understandable issues Pat, but I'm amazed you've had this problem in the Itchen South! I sit the other end of the stadium but once the game kicks-off I've never noticed any standing in those seating areas other than when we score (usually accompanied with polite applause!)...but I accept I must be mistaken. Things need to change. Good post
  7. Where do you sit Pat? Just a bit surprised that there's any standing anywhere near disabled areas inside SMS. The only standing I've ever seen are the upper rows of the Northam and some in the Itchen North, not really even close to disableds. Whatever, it's plain wrong that people such as yourself go to football and are subjected to abuse like you experienced and simply can't see the match. Safe standing areas would sort out so many issues instantly.
  8. That'll be him p*ssing on the seats again then.
  9. It would be a bit tough on some of them stewards if they couldn't secure a ticket, I'd guess most of them are fans and would probably have STs if they weren't on duty every home game. Some may do a lot of away games but by giving up the need for a ST some very loyal fans may have given up their deserved chance of a cup final ticket.
  10. It's what we do, (if we) win a game...we change the team. No continuity, "don't change a winning side" was always a popular saying, same with strikers, if they start finding the net, stick with them.
  11. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-02-04/match-report-southampton-west-ham-united-premier-league That's a very inappropiate photo of the advertising hoarding behind the players trudging off.
  12. ("Everywhere we go") "Barry' Man-o-lo, 'Barry" Man-o-lo, Relegation fight, Get me on a flight, Back to Milano...
  13. If we see Gabbiadini at all today I would think it would be from off the bench. I'll also be surprised if we see Jay Rod today, think he's still carrying a knock. Looking forward to seeing Boufal blossom now though. Snodgrass, Antonio and Carroll concern me most for them for various reasons.
  14. This was the day that gave the authorities the green light to shut down the Warrens. Saints were away to Ipswich so the pub (which did have a bit of a reputation!) wouldn't have been as busy as normal but still home to some of Southampton's more edgier types in for their usual Saturday session. Amazingly, despite Millwall having probably the biggest hooligan following in the country, a big mob of them were somehow allowed to walk up unnoticed from the train station straight to this notorious watering hole and the obvious soon followed. They were again allowed to make it back up as far as the precinct after the game too but the Police mostly kept 2 moody mobs apart. The Warrens was closed down soon after. I did go to the game, watching from the back of the 'big' bit of the Milton but didn't see any Millwall in there and, to be honest, can't remember a lot about the game itself, but i do recall it was 'kin cold!
  15. Perfect timing. How did we get on tonight in Wales? Forgotten already.....................
  16. I'm guessing that's a virgin?
  17. There, don't thank me... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222325697828?redirect=mobile https://www.amazon.co.uk/FRUIT-PLAIN-WHITE-SHIRT-S-XXXL/dp/B0074OZKQ4
  18. Manilow signs
  19. And look how they turned out...
  20. Nutshell. And I really don't know why they're all crying that we've reached a major final, they should be celebrating, the last time we did that they got promoted. Ah, hang on, the last time we got to a Wembley Final they got relegated. Probably a bit late for a plucky-little-p*mpey basement battle but fingers crossed for another portsea island meltdown and yet another season in the 4th Division.
  21. Full house tomorrow, there was just a handful of single seats left this afternoon, hopefully cup-final fever and an afternoon drinking will loosen a few up for a good cup atmosphere with 4,000 Gooners in the Northam. Whatever happens "Que Sera, Sera" should get a noisy run-out.
  22. In 1976 when we wore red and white stripes we sang "Come On You Reds", when we wore yellow, as at Wembley, we sang "Come On You Yeeellllooowwss". Nowadays, when we play in red we sing "Come On You Reds", when the home team plays in red and we change kit to black/white/green/etc. some of our fans sing "Come On You....Reds". Bit thick really, maybe time to start singing "Come On You Saints"?
  23. No. Probably won't be far off by Saturday teatime, mostly just the Chapel again. Any member who has eyes on a Wembley ticket would do worse than gambling £15 for this even if they've no intention in going, may help with qualifying number of games.
  24. I'm pretty certain Markus Liebherr acquired that as part of the deal. I would suggest there's absolutely no desire or chance of building a new stadium out-of-town at Jacksons Farm. It's just potentially a very valuable plot of land the club have sat on for years waiting for the day it would finally be given permission to build homes on. There was no chance for decades but things have now changed, I'm sure any future plans for it are selling it to developers or the Chinese may be involved there? If this goes through I'm sure think we can at least look forward to a spruced-up St Mary's Stadium and surrounding area.
  25. Well, by the end of February we'll haved played at Wembley 6 times. They lose that argument too.
