  1. Bit of a strange one, they may be concerned that it could attract some 'undesirables' but as personal details/passport numbers need to be submitted that's unlikely. 7,000 or so is still an excellent turnout but it won't look great if, after demanding extra tickets, there's plenty left over. If the club have had to pay 'up front' for them and end up out of pocket, they probably won't do it again. And leave it too much longer and it will just get even harder arranging transport to get out there.
  2. You're right, for a long distance, expensive trip (with 2 others in just a few weeks) that's not a bad turnout and around twice as many as the "mighty" Celtic took there. I doth my cap to all those making the effort, this one trip should guarantee tickets to all travellers for any other EL fixtures.
  3. Damn, we need three to go joint 9th with West Brom. I'd put my money on one goal in it either way.
  4. Somebody should remind Mr KNUMB-nuts that most of the rest of country take a similar view of arrogant, mouthy cockney waankaaaahs
  5. You probably need to get British 'humour' as to work out where not to sit. Enjoy your visit...you haven't exactly picked the most glamorous fixture for your first match (and don't set your expectations too high over the atmosphere!) and I'd suggest Kingsland Blocks 35-36 for a reasonable experience.
  6. Looks to me like they're saying we've now got the middle tier "SECOND BLU AWAY FANS'AREA PLEASE CONTACT SOUTHAMPTON F.C.". Looking at the stadium, the middle section is a bit deeper than the top one and also stretches round further in front of the pillars (blue seats), so would hold a lot more - not sure if it could hold 8,700 though? Great if it's middle and bottom rather than top and middle.
  7. The big giveaway that he was not an 'Inglander' was the fact he wasn't arrested. If that was an English fan (and what the other Czechs got away with inside the stadium) it would have been all over the media and long, possibly lifetime bans, handed out all over. And if that was home fans attacking the Police, there'd be mug shots and CCTV images everywhere to send them off to the Scrubs. I'm sure he was a lovable old rogue tho.
  8. On the bright side, think we've found our new penalty taker
  9. Not so much "besiege" as just thrown in there, as with all away fans, by the OB. Not many would go there out of choice. They will be noisy farkers tho.
  10. Yep, they're in for a rather big shock...particularly once they realise the informer was just having one big f'kin laugh.
  11. If this is true...gonna p*ss off the 5,000 who've bought tickets for the crappy top tier, while all the latecomers get the far better tier below...
  12. Aren't they actually looking to downsize from 80,000? I think 35k is probably nearer their regular league gates these days, the new stadium (if still on course?) would hold 48,000. I guess they're not so concerned with the glory-hunters. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ac-milan-release-further-plans-5599516 We'd only get just over 2,000 tickets in that stadium.
  13. I'm still with van Hanegem on this, think it will happen, eventually. Us traditionalists will despise it but your modern fan will embrace it. All the biggest clubs and best players, and TV audiences, will want to be part of it. Dortmund v Santos will still have far more appeal than Burnley v Watford. People around the world now only want watch the Premier League's big 6 clubs.
  14. They're all very good and acceptable reasons, my 'drama queens' jibe was directed at the actual drama queens on here, the same ones each summer who's knees buckle with the first player exit and...well, see above.
  15. Yeah, just had a look, does look poor, if we don't shift too many more maybe around 25k on Thursday. Don't know how many Sparta have sold, they took 900 but doubt they'll sell all those. They'll rattle around in the 3,000 away seats - but still knock out a better atmosphere than our lot. Just trust the stay-away have good reason and are not the drama queens on here always questioning the commitment of our owners, management and players.
  16. If a world league comes off there's no way they could also remain in the PL unless they have 2 teams, one for each league. The best players saved for jetting around the world, the U23s for PL matches. You'd like to think they be told to just **** off.
  17. It will happen, whether it initially involves the big English clubs remains to be seen, but, as van Hanegam says, the new riches will entice other European giants. Then all the best players (and their wags) will be bailing out of the PL and heading to Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, etc. for even crazier salaries and far superior lifestyles than the wet, grey north west...in particular. And it would quickly become the only league to watch in Asia, US, etc. so their goes the Premier League as we know it. watch in Asia Chelsea, Arsenal (in their heads, Spurs), Man U, Man City and Liverpool would soon have a change of heart.
  18. Can't be true cos the skates have said we aint got enough fans and away fans travel been cancelled. It also can't be true that we've already sold more than the "mighty" celtic took there and how could we have already sold more than twice as many as the "massive" skates took to Wigan 'that' day. If anyone's interested in seeing what the stadium lined up for the Europa Final, Sweden are playing the Dutch at the Friends Arena on ITV4. 1-1, 10 mins to go btw.
  19. 2003 in 5 words: Sold Bridgey, downward spiral began Now that was a meltdown.
  20. One for the drama queens
  21. No. He's Arsenal.
  22. More 'Les' I felt but...very well put and reflects what most of us feel and accept I'm sure. If only we could transfer list a few fans and bring in replacements.

    Puel

I agree that some of our fans have backbones of putty but the few boos that were heard were surely aimed at the referee.
  24. Beragmo has an airport (about 1 hour away) and there's also Verona (think they fly from Southampton to there), Turin and Genoa probably only around a 2 hour train journey away. Maybe a few options.
  25. I believe it is but maybe someone knows someone... in an ideal world... and we have seen they do like helping travelling supporters.
