  1. It's not exactly 2000 'unsold' tickets as the club decided not to gamble on the extra tickets as sales were slow and Liverpool wanted them (and quickly sold them) to their fans. Can't blame the club at all (other than they could have helped with travel), the slow sales probably just made them wary of taking the lot and ending seriously out of pocket if apathy remained.
  2. Yep, you're right, just been updated for their massive south coast encounter this weekend It's what makes 'em special.
  3. With the prospect of a Man Utd v Liverpool final, they'll be a lot of powerful people baying for it to happen, the TV mobs will be rubbing their hands in anticipation. Who's the referee...........?
  4. You must have been gutted once you realised that meant missing the game at Anfield on Wednesday...
  5. Well "people like me" have barely missed a match since I started going just after 1970. That's why I said above "no doubt, I'll keep on going". I also said it was "dull", the football and the crowd support "right now", I know very few that would disagree. it's been dull in the past (I've still gone) and it will be better again sometime in the future, that's football for ya. But right now I find it dull. Have a look back at my previous posts, you'll see I don't wet the bed when we sell every summer and I've defended Puel's right to prove himself from the start, but that doesn't change the fact I don't find the football on offer right now entertaining. I've followed this club all over the country and around Europe and this season some of it has been very, very "dull". In my opinion, of course.
  6. I think a lot of us would agree with just about every word of that. The whole matchday experience right now (the dull football on offer and even duller crowd support) is no fun whatsoever. But, no doubt, I'll keep on going...
  7. 124-129 = just over 3,000, depending on where they put any segregation. With the game still over a week away hopefully we'll shift what's remaining. May need a strong performance next weekend. Shame, first semi-final in years and such a lack of enthusiasm for both legs. Something badly gone pop.
  8. Wha's likely happen is section 127 will sell out in the next couple of days then it'll slow up as fans will wait for 122 and 123 to be released rather than buy in the end bits. The club will have to then make a decision and commit to paying for 121-123 or give them back to Liverpool. If they decide we won't sell many more because sales have slowed they won't take the chance of landing seriously out of pocket and send them back. LFC will sell them easily. Then you'll get Saints fans clamouring for tickets moaning why didn't the club take the full allocation. Our fans seem to be prone to leaving these sort of things to the last minute..
  9. Both skates tbf. When Saints did the open top bus tour the day after, they stuck a mic under Stokesie's nose for a few words and he just said "I'm off the list..." That goal, and what a beauty it was, may have given him a bit of a lifeline at Saints. Turned out to be a good few days for him as he was given the keys to a brand new car for scoring the Wembley winner before Channon's Testimonial on the Monday. He couldn't even drive!
  10. I was looking at Redmond as more a new 'Terry Curran' last night. The best thing he did was score the winner in the home semi-final in 79. We drew the away 2-2 and made the final...
  11. Eh? Mostly quiet as usual, no special semi-formal atmosphere at all Been like that for many years, we'd have won on away goals at Watford in 81 otherwise, only 5-1 down at 90 mins! Maybe I've read it wrong but when I looked a few days ago the first 3 blocks were unavailable and assumed they were already sold out. If that is the case and along with seats sold in the remaining blocks it would mean over 3k had already gone. Just looked again and block 124 behind the goal is almost gone too now. http://tickets.saintsfc.co.uk/PagesPublic/ProductBrowse/StandAndAreaSelection.aspx?stadium=AN&product=CA16LI&campaign=&type=H&productsubtype=AWAY&productIsHomeAsAway=N
  12. ...if you ignore the spelling of "Southhampton" of course. The nation and media will be smacking their lips at the prospect of a scouse/manc final. Everyone should know what to do then. The players...and fans...have got to up their game massively tonight.
  13. I haven't seen if this has already been posted but probably worth a bump... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/15011165.Emotional_tribute_to_be_paid_to__wonderful__20_year_old_Saints_fan_who_died_suddenly/?ref=mmsp I don't know anyone involved but (whether you agree with this sort of thing or not) this is something planned for tonight and deserves respect.
  14. First off, he's a Chelsea fan but attached himself to them when he was covering their games when they were doing well/cheating. He's of course been more of a Chelsea fan again over the past few years as the fourth division underachievers have floundered but with our downturn in fortunes recently coupled with them winning a few games/walking the league (guffaw) he's grasped the opportunity to score a few points with his skate mates. Can't believe he never bunged in the bit about that notorious "dock strike". Soft ****.
  15. So they had 100 shirts that were likely to just sit on the shelf and not making any money on shirt sales now until the new ones arrive, so...let's hope someone didn't forget to renew the insurance...
  16. About the same age as when we signed Graziano Pele, we didn't do too bad with him, did we? And made a buck or two when we sold him. Pinch of salt but probably more to the point...if he's relatively cheap.
  17. That's a 'no' then!
  18. I wonder if that's got a red sash stretching across it...? Probably do well as a stocking filler if it did.
  19. After recent very poor displays on the road (Arsenal aside) I doff my cap to those making the long trip to nowhere tonight. 2 years ago this week we took 5,000 up to Sheffield midweek (another shocker - that was one sh*tty trip!) I'd think we'll be lucky to get 500 to Stoke later. Not expecting too much... and not great for the travellers but 0-0 would be a good one for us.
  20. But once out on the pitch the fans become the motivating force. If this really was the "Biggest game in our recent history" then our fans probably "sucked the life out of the team". Apart from a thousand or so noisy Israelis (who managed to drown out any attempts from the Northam by simply whistling) it was a shocking atmosphere again with the usual near silence attacking the Chapel second half. This will no doubt upset some of our more sensitive types but I'm struggling to give a f**k. To quote a popular chant "our support is f**king sh*t.
  21. Not sure that it is, but anyways, I won't be able to lose sight of the fact that they came back from 2-down to beat Inter and do seem to score pretty freely in their own league. 3 clear goals up in the 88th minute and I'll rest easier.
  22. Yeah...but...if they then equalise in the 89th...............
  23. People won't be able to message you as you're only a registered user but there's some looking for tickets over here http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57481-Palace-away-tickets-for-sale#.WEGuLeinxJ8
  24. I did put 'if the club are serious about keeping him', I do have my doubts and with SFC's future ownership up in the air, who knows?
  25. I'd guess most aren't expecting £60-70m, more that if the club are serious about keeping him a bit longer, and he doesn't have a release clause, then by slapping a massive figure out, while reminding everyone about the length of his contract, they may just fend off bids. Or some crazy big club decides he's worth going balls-out for...?
