  1. Did anybody else hear the story of Mike Williamson being signed by Newcastle for £1m, then the skates rereading his contract to find out if they sell him they would owe Watford £1.25m! Was mentioned on Solent as well today.
  2. Got to say Claridge talks the game in a realistic light. Was on the train from Waterloo and had a chat with him for the trip home about loads of stuff. He always enjoyed the banter at St Marys, thinks PFC is a joke nowadays. He knows the game from top to bottom from managing Weymouth to playing in PL. He lives just outside Titchfield. His column on bbc site is always a good read.
  3. I dare say if we get a good result on Wednesday then the crowd will be inflated for home tie.
  4. We have the option of another 1000 if we sell out. Home game will probably sell out as the link to a wembley ticket is there. Getting mine in the morning.
  5. How do you know who is on the database for the restricted sale? I know my mate has bought tickets but he hasn't used his name at the ticket office. Also if you register online now does that put you on the database?
  6. Only this forum could have a debate on pronounciation, grammar or spelling (sp?) ;-)
  7. Pompey are fooked on Sooooo many levels. We were only ever in the mire becuase of Sms and the mortgage. It smacks of a property deal at pompey. The arabs just took on the debt from Gaydamak who still has control to an extent. Chenrai from HK loaned the club £15m with the groung as security. Gaydamak owns loads of property surrounding FP. If it all goes Pete Tong the arabs are left carrying the can. Gaydamak gets rich on the property as it will inflate in price if FP is sold by Chenrai. It is prime real estate in Portsmouth with new retail developements popping up around it. We never had to beg borrow or steal to pay the wages. Looks like Afc Pompey and shops on Fratton to me.
  8. NO .
  9. Yes I have the day off work, bit early mind but cool beans!
  10. Bloody hell we left it late and then some!!!!
  11. Just to follow up on the kids theme. My generation went to the Dell week in week out for £2 in the milton for years. Now the club do a sure start special once a month where under 5's get in for £2 and their parent goes free. Next game is Tranmere. My 3 year old will be at her 4th game this season and she loves it. I was a boycotter last year, even participated on the marches and then went to the pub, but have been home and away to 7 games this season. Fans will come back as the buzz around town builds. There will always be a fickle element who will always want to just watch top flight. Even Leeds don't fill Elland Road and their support is well documented for this league, we are not far behind them I might add.
  12. Heard Andrew Davies out of favour and looking for a move. Would he come back/would he be welcome?
  13. I found that to get a fix for football I would go and see Ebbsfleet as I was boycotting RL. Also wasn't fun being a saints fan, so was good to have a distraction. Now haven't been to a BSP game since march and seen 7 saints games home and away this season. So I feel like I can be a part of the Saints family again (now the wicked step mother has been banished and replaced by the fairy god mother).
  14. What about the Rooney rumour a while ago, any update on that anyone?
  15. :smt036
  16. I am going with my daughter and get tickets through her playgroup. 3 games in a week puts me in the doghouse but, you only live once. Here is to 3 wins in 3 comps. 3-0 for me!
  17. The same format as the ZDS Cup we got to the final in, in 1993
  18. Wet side for me also.
  19. Does anyone think that the A36 via Salisbury/Warminster might be better than the rush hour M4?
  20. :smt044You couldn't make it up. What a shower they have become. And to think they were laughing at us!!!! :smt044
  21. As for the legend of the 00's, do we have one? Beattie? Niemi? killer? I don't think we have a defininative player who stands out. Lets look forward as well to the new legend of the 10's. I was too young to see Ron play but my dad is gushing in his praise for the big man. And that respect rubbed off on me so I pass on my regards to Ron, as a collective I think our thoughts are with him in these difficult times.
  22. +1 :smt038
  23. Dennis Wise, still a w@nker
  24. Sorry that would be the Hawthorns WBA. I too went to the Franny Benali game in 93(?) Matty scored a hattrick, Oldham, avoided relegation and Pompey missed out on Promotion losing to palace(could be wrong). Crap ground, good day though.
